(Ne 4:8; Ps 27:5; Ps 31:20)4They say, “Come, let us wipe them out as a nation; let the name of Israel be remembered no more!” (Es 3:6; Ps 74:8; Jer 48:2)5For they conspire with one accord; against you they make a covenant—6the tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrites, (Ge 25:12; 1Ch 5:10; 2Ch 20:10; Ps 137:7)7Gebal and Ammon and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre; (Jos 13:5; 1Sa 4:1; 1Sa 15:2; Ps 83:6; Eze 27:3; Am 1:6; Am 1:9)8Asshur also has joined them; they are the strong arm of the children of Lot. (De 2:9; De 2:19; 2Ki 15:19)9Do to them as you did to Midian, as to Sisera and Jabin at the river Kishon, (Nu 31:7; Jud 4:7; Jud 4:15; Jud 4:24; Jud 5:21; Isa 9:4)10who were destroyed at En-dor, who became dung for the ground. (Jos 17:11; 1Sa 28:7; Job 20:7)11Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna, (Jud 7:25; Jud 8:3; Jud 8:5)12who said, “Let us take possession for ourselves of the pastures of God.” (2Ch 20:11)13O my God, make them like whirling dust,[1] like chaff before the wind. (Job 13:25; Job 21:18; Ps 1:4; Isa 17:13)14As fire consumes the forest, as the flame sets the mountains ablaze, (De 32:22; Isa 9:18; Isa 10:16)15so may you pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your hurricane! (Job 9:17)16Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek your name, O Lord. (Job 10:15; Ps 35:4; Ps 35:26)17Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever; let them perish in disgrace, (Ps 35:4)18that they may know that you alone, whose name is the Lord, are the Most High over all the earth. 1-2Gud, sitt inte bara sysslolös, tyst och oföretagsam, när vi ber. Svara oss! Befria oss!3Hör du inte tumultet och oväsendet från dina fiender? Ser du inte vad de gör, dessa stolta och segervissa män som hatar dig?4De är fyllda av svek och gör upp onda planer för ditt folk. De tänker döda dem du älskar.5Kom, säger de, kom och låt oss utplåna Israels folk. Ja, vi ska till och med utplåna minnet av deras existens.6De är fullkomligt överens om det, och de har ingått ett förbund mot dig den allsmäktige Guden.7Det är alla dessa som har gjort det: ismaeliter, edomiter, moabiter och hagariter,8tillsammans med folken från Gebal, Ammon, Amalek, filisteernas land och Tyrus.9Också Assyrien har förenat sig med dem och är allierade med moabiterna och ammoniterna som är ättlingar till Lot.10Gör med dem på samma sätt som du en gång gjorde med midjaniterna, och med Sisera och Jabin vid floden Kison.11Du besegrade dina fiender i En-Dor och deras förmultnade kroppar kom att gödsla jorden.12Låt dessa mäktiga, framstående ledare dö som Oreb och Seeb gjorde. Låt alla deras furstar dö som Seba och Salmunna,13som sa: "Vi intar landet som tillhör Gud, så att vi kan ha det för oss själva!"14Min Gud, låt dem spridas ut som torrt ogräsfrö, som agnar för vinden.15Svep fram som en skogsbrand som drar fram över bergen!16Jaga bort dem med förskräckliga stormar och skräm dem med oväder och orkaner.17Låt dem rodna av skam, tills de vaknar upp över din makt och ditt namn, Herre.18Se till att de misslyckas med allt de gör. Låt dem skämmas och bli förskräckta19tills de förstår att bara du, Herre, är en Gud över alla gudar, och att du ensam härskar över hela jorden.
