1Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit[1] and a great chain. (Re 1:18; Re 9:1)2And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, (2Pe 2:4; Jud 1:6; Re 12:9)3and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while. (Da 6:17; Mt 27:66; Re 20:1; Re 20:8; Re 20:10)4Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. This is the first resurrection.6Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years. (Re 1:6; Re 2:11; Re 14:13; Re 20:4; Re 20:14; Re 21:8)
The Defeat of Satan
7And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison (Re 20:2)8and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. (Eze 38:2; Eze 39:1; Re 16:14; Re 20:3; Re 20:10)9And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heaven[2] and consumed them, (Ps 132:13; Isa 8:8; Eze 38:9; Eze 38:16; Hab 1:6; Heb 13:11; Heb 13:13; Re 13:13)10and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever. (Re 16:13; Re 19:20; Re 20:3; Re 20:8)
Judgment Before the Great White Throne
11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. (Ps 102:26; Da 2:35; Re 12:8)12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. (Da 7:10; Mt 16:27; Ro 14:10; 2Co 5:10; Re 3:5; Re 11:18)13And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. (Re 6:8; Re 20:12)14Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. (Lu 20:36; 1Co 15:26; Re 20:6; Re 20:13; Re 21:4)15And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. (Mt 13:42; Mt 13:50)

1I viděl jsem anděla sstupujícího s nebe, majícího klíč od propasti a řetěz veliký v ruce své.2I chopil draka, hada toho starého, jenž jest ďábel a satan, i svázal jej za tisíc let.3A uvrhl ho do propasti, i zavřel jej tam a svrchu nad ním zapečetil, aby nesvodil více národů, až by se vyplnilo tisíc let; neboť potom musí býti propuštěn na malý čas.4I viděl jsem stolice, a posadili se na nich, i dán jest jim soud, a viděl jsem duše stínaných pro svědectví Ježíšovo a pro slovo Boží, a kteříž se neklaněli šelmě, ani obrazu jejímu, a aniž přijali znamení jejího na čela svá, anebo na ruce své. A ožili a kralovali s Kristem tisíc let.5Jiní pak mrtví neožili, dokudž by se nevyplnilo tisíc let. A toť jest první vzkříšení.6Blahoslavený a svatý, kdož má díl v prvním vzkříšení. Nad těmiť ta druhá smrt nemá moci, ale budou kněží Boží a Kristovi, a kralovati s ním budou tisíc let.7A když se vyplní tisíc let, propuštěn bude satanáš z žaláře svého.8I vyjde, aby svodil národy, kteříž jsou na čtyřech stranách země, Goga a Magoga, a aby je shromáždil k boji, kterýchžto počet jest jako písku mořského.9I vstoupili na širokost země a obklíčili stany svatých, i to město milé, ale sstoupil oheň od Boha s nebe a spálil je.10A ďábel, kterýž je svodil, uvržen jest do jezera ohně a síry, kdež jest i šelma, i falešný prorok, a budouť mučeni dnem i nocí na věky věků.11I viděl jsem trůn veliký bílý, a sedícího na něm, před jehož tváří utekla země i nebe, a místo jim není nalezeno.12I viděl jsem mrtvé, malé i veliké, stojící před obličejem Božím, a knihy otevříny jsou. A jiné knihy také jsou otevříny, to jest knihy života, i souzeni jsou mrtví podle toho, jakž psáno bylo v knihách, totiž podle skutků svých.13A vydalo moře mrtvé, kteříž byli v něm, tolikéž smrt i peklo vydali ty, kteříž v nich byli, i souzeni jsou jeden každý podle skutků svých.14Smrt pak a peklo uvrženi jsou do jezera ohnivého, a toť jest smrt druhá.15I ten, kdož není nalezen v knihách života, uvržen jest do jezera ohnivého.
