1Von Salomo. Gott, gib dem König deine Rechtssprüche und deine Gerechtigkeit dem Königssohn, (1Chr 22,9; 1Chr 29,19; Ps 127,1)2dass er dein Volk richte in Gerechtigkeit und deine Elenden nach Recht. (2Sam 23,3; Jes 32,1)3Es mögen dem Volk Heil tragen die Berge und die Hügel Gerechtigkeit[1]. (Ps 85,11; Jes 32,17)4Er schaffe Recht den Elenden des Volkes; bringe Hilfe den Kindern[2] des Armen, und den Unterdrücker zertrete er. (Jes 42,3)5Und[3] er möge lange leben[4], solange die Sonne ⟨scheint⟩, solange der Mond ⟨leuchtet⟩, von Generation zu Generation.6Er komme herab wie ein Regen auf die gemähte Flur, wie Regenschauer als Befeuchtung auf das Land. (5Mo 32,2; Hos 6,3)7In seinen Tagen wird der Gerechte[5] blühen, und Fülle von Heil ⟨wird sein⟩, bis der Mond nicht mehr ist.8Und er[6] möge herrschen von Meer zu Meer und vom Strom bis an die Enden der Erde[7]. (2Mo 23,31; Sach 9,10)9Vor ihm sollen niederknien die Bewohner der Wüste, und seine Feinde sollen den Staub lecken. (Jes 49,23; Mi 7,17)10Die Könige von Tarsis und den Inseln sollen Geschenke bringen, es sollen Tribute entrichten die Könige von Scheba und Saba. (1Kön 10,1; Ps 68,30; Jes 60,6)11Und alle Könige sollen vor ihm niederfallen, alle Nationen ihm dienen. (Jes 49,23; Mi 7,17)12Denn retten wird er den Armen, der um Hilfe ruft, und den Elenden und den, der keinen Helfer hat. (Hi 36,15; Ps 55,17)13Er wird sich erbarmen des[8] Geringen[9] und des Armen, und das Leben[10] der Armen wird er retten.14Aus Bedrückung und Gewalttat wird er ihr Leben erlösen, denn ihr Blut ist kostbar in seinen Augen. (Ps 116,15)15Und er soll leben, und von dem Golde Schebas wird man[11] ihm geben; und man soll beständig für ihn beten, den ganzen Tag ihn segnen. (1Kön 10,10; Ps 45,18)16Überfluss an Getreide soll im Land sein; auf dem Gipfel der Berge soll es wogen[12]; wie der Libanon sei seine Frucht; sie sollen hervorblühen aus der Stadt wie das Kraut der Erde.17Sein Name soll ewig sein; vor der Sonne soll aufsprossen sein Name;[13] und in ihm wird man sich segnen; alle Nationen sollen ihn glücklich preisen[14].18Gepriesen sei der HERR, Gott, der Gott Israels. Er tut Wunder, er allein! (Hi 5,9; Ps 77,15; Ps 98,1; Ps 106,48; Ps 136,4; Lk 1,68)19Und gepriesen sei sein herrlicher Name in Ewigkeit! Seine Herrlichkeit erfülle die ganze Erde! Amen, ja Amen. 1Endow the king with your justice, O God, the royal son with your righteousness.2May he judge your people in righteousness, your afflicted ones with justice.3May the mountains bring prosperity to the people, the hills the fruit of righteousness.4May he defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy; may he crush the oppressor.5May he endure[1] as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations.6May he be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth.7In his days may the righteous flourish and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.8May he rule from sea to sea and from the River[2] to the ends of the earth.9May the desert tribes bow before him and his enemies lick the dust.10May the kings of Tarshish and of distant shores bring tribute to him. May the kings of Sheba and Seba present him with gifts.11May all kings bow down to him and all nations serve him.12For he will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no-one to help.13He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death.14He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight.15Long may he live! May gold from Sheba be given to him. May people ever pray for him and bless him all day long.16May corn abound throughout the land; on the tops of the hills may it sway. May the crops flourish like Lebanon and thrive[3] like the grass of the field.17May his name endure for ever; may it continue as long as the sun. Then all nations will be blessed through him,[4] and they will call him blessed.
