Von David.2Höre, Gott, meine Stimme in meiner Klage; behüte mein Leben vor dem Schrecken des Feindes!3Verbirg mich vor der Verschwörung der Übeltäter, vor dem Aufruhr derer, die Böses tun!4Die ihre Zunge gleich einem Schwert geschärft, bitteres Wort als ihren Pfeil angelegt haben, (Ps 55,22; Ps 57,5)5um im Versteck auf den Unschuldigen zu schießen, plötzlich schießen sie auf ihn und scheuen sich nicht.6Sie stärken sich in böser Sache; sie reden davon, Fallstricke zu verbergen; sie sagen: »Wer wird sie sehen?« (Ps 10,11)7Sie denken Schlechtigkeiten aus: »Wir sind fertig. Der Plan ist ausgedacht. Und das Innere eines jeden und ⟨sein⟩ Herz ist unergründlich.« (Pred 9,3; Jer 17,9)8Aber Gott schießt auf sie einen Pfeil, plötzlich sind ihre Wunden da. (Ps 144,6)9Und sie brachten ihn zum Straucheln, ⟨doch⟩ ihre Zunge[1] ⟨kommt⟩ über sie; alle, die auf sie sehen, schütteln sich. (Ps 59,13; Ps 140,10)10Da fürchteten sich alle Menschen und verkündeten das Tun Gottes und verstanden sein Werk.11Der Gerechte wird sich am HERRN freuen und sich bei ihm bergen; und alle von Herzen Aufrichtigen werden sich rühmen. (Ps 5,12)
1God, hear me as I tell you my problem. Don’t let my enemies kill me.2Hide me from evil people who talk about how to harm me. Hide me from those people who are planning to do evil.3They make their tongues like sharp swords. They aim their mean words like deadly arrows.4They shoot from their hiding places at people who aren’t guilty. They shoot quickly and aren’t afraid of being caught.5They help one another make evil plans. They talk about hiding their traps. They say, ‘Who can see what we are doing?’6They make plans to do what is evil. They say, ‘We have thought up a perfect plan!’ The hearts and minds of people are so clever!7But God will shoot my enemies with his arrows. He will suddenly strike them down.8He will turn their own words against them. He will destroy them. All those who see them will shake their heads and look down on them.9All people will respect God. They will tell about his works. They will think about what he has done.10Godly people will be full of joy because of what the LORD has done. They will go to him for safety. All those whose hearts are honest will be proud of what he has done.
