1Und das Los kam heraus für die Söhne Josef vom Jordan bei Jericho an, dem Wasser von Jericho im Osten: die Wüste, die von Jericho aus zum Gebirge von Bethel hinaufsteigt. (1Mo 35,24; Jos 18,12)2Und ⟨die Grenze⟩ ging aus von Bethel nach Lus und ging hinüber zum Gebiet der Arkiter, nach Atarot, (1Mo 28,19; Ri 1,22; 2Sam 15,32)3und stieg westwärts hinunter zum Gebiet der Jafletiter bis an das Gebiet vom unteren Bet-Horon und bis Geser; und sie endete am Meer. (Jos 18,13)6Und die Grenze lief zum Meer hin, Michmetat im Norden. Und die Grenze wandte sich nach Osten nach Taanat-Silo und ging daran vorbei ostwärts nach Janoach. (Jos 17,7)7Dann stieg sie von Janoach hinab nach Atarot und Naara und stieß an Jericho und lief am Jordan aus.8Von Tappuach ging die Grenze westwärts zum Bach Kana, und sie endete am Meer. Das ist das Erbteil des Stammes der Söhne Ephraim nach ihren Sippen. (Jos 17,7; Jos 17,9; 2Sam 2,9; 1Chr 7,28; Hes 48,5)9Und die ausgesonderten Städte gehörten den Söhnen Ephraim mitten im Erbteil der Söhne Manasse: alle Städte und ihre Dörfer[1]. – (Jos 17,9; 2Sam 2,9; 1Chr 7,28; Hes 48,5)10Aber sie trieben die Kanaaniter nicht aus, die in Geser wohnten. Und die Kanaaniter blieben inmitten von Ephraim wohnen bis zum heutigen Tag, und sie wurden zu fronpflichtigen Knechten. (Jos 17,13; Ri 1,29; 1Kön 9,16)
1The land given to the two tribes in the family line of Joseph began at the River Jordan. Their border started east of the springs of Jericho. It went up from there through the desert into the hill country of Bethel.2Bethel is also called Luz. From Bethel the border crossed over to Ataroth. That’s where the Arkites live.3Then it went west down to the territory of the Japhletites. It went all the way to the area of Lower Beth Horon. It went on to Gezer. The border came to an end at the Mediterranean Sea.4The tribes of Manasseh and Ephraim were from the family line of Joseph. So they received that land as their share.5Here is the territory given to the tribe of Ephraim, according to its family groups. The border of their share of land started at Ataroth Addar in the east. It went to Upper Beth Horon.6It continued towards the Mediterranean Sea. From Mikmethath on the north, it curved towards the east. It went to Taanath Shiloh. It passed by Taanath Shiloh to Janoah on the east.7Then it went down from Janoah to Ataroth and Naarah. It touched Jericho and came to an end at the River Jordan.8From Tappuah the border went west to the Kanah Valley. It came to an end at the Mediterranean Sea. That was the land given to the tribe of Ephraim. Each family group received its share.9The tribe of Ephraim was also given other towns and villages that were set apart for them. Those towns and villages were in the share of land given to the tribe of Manasseh.10The people of Ephraim didn’t drive out the Canaanites living in Gezer. The Canaanites live among the people of Ephraim to this day. But they are forced to work hard for the people of Ephraim.
