Bundesbruch des Volkes und Gottes Gericht

1 Das Wort, das von dem HERRN zu Jeremia geschah: 2 Hört auf die Worte dieses Bundes und redet zu den Männern von Juda und zu den Bewohnern von Jerusalem! 3 Und sage zu ihnen: So spricht der HERR, der Gott Israels: Verflucht ist der Mann, der nicht auf die Worte dieses Bundes hört, (5Mo 27,26; Gal 3,10) 4 den ich euren Vätern geboten habe an dem Tag, da ich sie herausführte aus dem Land Ägypten, aus dem eisernen Schmelzofen, indem ich sprach: Hört auf meine Stimme und handelt danach, nach allem, was ich euch gebiete, dann werdet ihr mein Volk, und ich werde euer Gott sein, (5Mo 4,20; 5Mo 5,2; Jer 7,23; Jer 30,22)

5 damit ich den Schwur aufrechthalte, den ich euren Vätern geschworen habe: ihnen ein Land zu geben, das von Milch und Honig überfließt, wie es an diesem Tag ist! Ich antwortete und sprach: Amen, HERR! (2Mo 3,8; Ps 105,8; Jer 28,6; Jer 32,22)

6 Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Rufe alle diese Worte aus in den Städten Judas und auf den Straßen von Jerusalem und sprich: Hört die Worte dieses Bundes und handelt danach! (5Mo 4,1; Jak 1,22) 7 Denn ich habe euren Vätern eindringlich bezeugt ⟨schon⟩ an dem Tag, als ich sie aus dem Land Ägypten heraufführte, bis zu diesem Tag, früh mich aufmachend und bezeugend, indem ich sprach: Hört auf meine Stimme! 8 Aber sie haben nicht gehört und ihr Ohr nicht geneigt, sondern sie lebten alle^[1] in der Verstocktheit ihres bösen Herzens. Und ich brachte über sie alle Worte dieses Bundes, den ich zu befolgen gebot und den sie nicht befolgt haben. (5Mo 28,15; Jer 7,13; Jer 7,24; Jer 32,23; Jer 34,14; Hebr 3,12)

9 Und der HERR sprach zu mir: Es hat sich eine Verschwörung gefunden unter den Männern von Juda und unter den Bewohnern von Jerusalem. (Hes 22,25) 10 Sie sind zurückgekehrt zu den Sünden der Väter vor ihnen, die sich ⟨auch schon⟩ geweigert hatten, auf meine Worte zu hören. So sind ⟨auch⟩ sie anderen Göttern nachgelaufen, um ihnen zu dienen. Das Haus Israel und das Haus Juda haben meinen Bund gebrochen, den ich mit ihren Vätern geschlossen habe. 11 Darum, so spricht der HERR: Siehe, ich bringe Unheil über sie, dem sie nicht entgehen können, und sie werden zu mir um Hilfe schreien, aber ich werde nicht auf sie hören. (Jer 14,12; Jer 19,15; Jer 35,17) 12 Und die Städte von Juda und die Bewohner von Jerusalem werden hingehen und zu den Göttern um Hilfe schreien, denen sie Rauchopfer dargebracht haben; aber die werden sie nicht retten zur Zeit ihres Unglücks. (5Mo 32,37; Jes 46,7) 13 Denn so zahlreich wie deine Städte sind deine Götter geworden, Juda. 14 Du aber, bitte nicht für dieses Volk und erhebe weder Flehen noch Gebet für sie! Denn ich werde nicht hören zu der Zeit, da sie wegen ihres Unglücks zu mir rufen werden. (Jer 7,16; Jer 14,12) 15 Was hat mein Geliebter^[3] in meinem Haus zu schaffen, da sie ⟨doch⟩ alle ⟨nur⟩ Ränke schmieden? Wird heiliges ⟨Opfer⟩fleisch deine Bosheit von dir wegnehmen? Dann kannst du jubeln.^[4] (Jer 23,11) 16 Einen grünen Ölbaum mit schön gewachsener Frucht^[5] hatte der HERR dich genannt. Ein großes Geprassel: Feuer hat er an ihn gelegt, und seine Äste brechen ab. (Ps 80,17; Jer 2,21; Röm 11,17) 17 Und der HERR der Heerscharen, der dich gepflanzt, hat Unheil über dich beschlossen^[6] wegen der Bosheit des Hauses Israel und des Hauses Juda, die sie verübt haben^[7], um mich zu reizen, indem sie dem Baal Rauchopfer darbrachten. 18 Der HERR hat es mich erkennen lassen, da erkannte ich es. Damals zeigtest du mir ihre Taten. (1Sam 23,11; 2Kön 6,32) 19 Und ich war wie ein zutrauliches Lamm, das zum Schlachten geführt wird. Ich hatte nicht erkannt, dass sie Anschläge^[8] gegen mich planten: Lasst uns den Baum mit seiner Frucht verderben und ihn aus dem Land der Lebendigen ausrotten, dass man sich nicht mehr an seinen Namen erinnert! (Ps 37,32; Jer 1,19; Hos 9,8; Lk 20,14)

20 Aber du, HERR der Heerscharen, der du gerecht richtest, Nieren^[9] und Herz prüfst, lass mich deine Rache an ihnen sehen! Denn dir habe ich meine Rechtssache anvertraut. 21 Darum, so spricht der HERR über die Männer von Anatot, die nach deinem^[10] Leben trachten und sagen: Du sollst nicht weissagen im Namen des HERRN, sonst wirst du durch unsere Hände sterben! – (Jes 30,10; Jer 1,19; Jer 12,6; Mt 13,57)

22 darum, so spricht der HERR der Heerscharen: Siehe, ich suche sie heim. Die jungen Männer werden durchs Schwert sterben, ihre Söhne und ihre Töchter werden vor Hunger sterben, (Jer 18,21) 23 und kein Rest wird ⟨von⟩ ihnen bleiben; denn ich bringe Unglück über die Männer von Anatot im Jahr ihrer Heimsuchung. Then answered I, and said, So be it, O LORD. 6 Then the LORD said unto me, Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying, Hear ye the words of this covenant, and do them. 7 For I earnestly protested unto your fathers in the day that I brought them up out of the land of Egypt, even unto this day, rising early and protesting, saying, Obey my voice. 8 Yet they obeyed not, nor inclined their ear, but walked every one in the imagination of their evil heart: therefore I will bring upon them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do; but they did them not. 9 And the LORD said unto me, A conspiracy is found among the men of Judah, and among the inhabitants of Jerusalem. 10 They are turned back to the iniquities of their forefathers, which refused to hear my words; and they went after other gods to serve them: the house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken my covenant which I made with their fathers. 11 Therefore thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them. 12 Then shall the cities of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem go, and cry unto the gods unto whom they offer incense: but they shall not save them at all in the time of their trouble. 13 For according to the number of thy cities were thy gods, O Judah; and according to the number of the streets of Jerusalem have ye set up altars to that shameful thing, even altars to burn incense unto Baal. 14 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble. 15 What hath my beloved to do in mine house, seeing she hath wrought lewdness with many, and the holy flesh is passed from thee? when thou doest evil, then thou rejoicest. 16 The LORD called thy name, A green olive tree, fair, and of goodly fruit: with the noise of a great tumult he hath kindled fire upon it, and the branches of it are broken. 17 For the LORD of hosts, that planted thee, hath pronounced evil against thee, for the evil of the house of Israel and of the house of Judah, which they have done against themselves to provoke me to anger in offering incense unto Baal. 18 And the LORD hath given me knowledge of it , and I know it : then thou shewedst me their doings. 19 But I was like a lamb or an ox that is brought to the slaughter; and I knew not that they had devised devices against me, saying , Let us destroy the tree with the fruit thereof, and let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered. 20 But, O LORD of hosts, that judgest righteously, that triest the reins and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for unto thee have I revealed my cause. 21 Therefore thus saith the LORD of the men of Anathoth, that seek thy life, saying, Prophesy not in the name of the LORD, that thou die not by our hand: 22 Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, I will punish them: the young men shall die by the sword; their sons and their daughters shall die by famine: 23 And there shall be no remnant of them: for I will bring evil upon the men of Anathoth, even the year of their visitation.
