1Ihr Kinder, gehorcht euren Eltern im Herrn! Denn das ist recht. Verhältnis von Sklaven und Herren
5Ihr Sklaven, gehorcht euren irdischen Herren mit Furcht und Zittern, in Einfalt eures Herzens, als[1] dem Christus; (1Tim 6,1; Tit 2,9; 1Petr 2,18)6nicht mit Augendienerei, als Menschengefällige, sondern als Sklaven Christi, indem ihr den Willen Gottes von Herzen[2] tut! (Gal 1,10; Kol 3,22)7Dient mit Gutwilligkeit als[3] dem Herrn und nicht den Menschen! (Röm 12,11; Kol 3,23)8Ihr wisst doch, dass jeder, der Gutes tut, dies vom Herrn empfangen wird, er sei Sklave oder Freier. Die Waffenrüstung Gottes
10Schließlich: Werdet stark im Herrn und in der Macht seiner Stärke! (1Kor 16,13; 2Tim 2,1)11Zieht die ganze Waffenrüstung Gottes an, damit ihr gegen die Listen des Teufels bestehen könnt! (Röm 13,12; 2Kor 2,11)12Denn unser Kampf ist nicht gegen Fleisch und Blut[4], sondern gegen die Gewalten, gegen die Mächte, gegen die Weltbeherrscher dieser Finsternis, gegen die geistigen[5] ⟨Mächte⟩ der Bosheit in der Himmelswelt[6]. (Jak 4,7)14So steht nun, eure Lenden[8] umgürtet mit Wahrheit, bekleidet mit dem Brustpanzer der Gerechtigkeit (Jes 11,5; Lk 12,35; Phil 4,8; 1Thess 5,8; 1Petr 1,13)15und beschuht an den Füßen mit der Bereitschaft ⟨zur Verkündigung⟩ des Evangeliums des Friedens! (Jes 52,7)16Bei alledem ergreift den Schild des Glaubens, mit dem ihr alle feurigen Pfeile des Bösen auslöschen könnt!17Nehmt[9] auch den Helm des Heils[10] und das Schwert des Geistes, das[11] ist Gottes Wort! (Jes 59,17; Hebr 4,12)18Mit allem Gebet und Flehen betet zu jeder Zeit im Geist, und wacht hierzu in allem Anhalten und Flehen für alle Heiligen (Mt 26,41; Lk 18,1; Kol 4,2; 1Tim 2,1; Jud 1,20)19⟨und⟩ auch für mich, damit mir Rede verliehen wird, wenn ich den Mund öffne, mit Freimütigkeit das Geheimnis des Evangeliums bekannt zu machen (Apg 4,29; Kol 4,3)20– für das ich ein Gesandter in Ketten[12] bin –, damit ich in ihm freimütig rede, wie ich reden soll. Sendung des Tychikus – Segenswunsch
21Damit aber auch ihr meine Umstände[13] wisst, wie es mir geht, wird Tychikus, der geliebte Bruder und treue Diener im Herrn, euch alles berichten. (Apg 20,4)22Ihn habe ich eben deshalb zu euch gesandt, dass ihr unsere Umstände erfahrt und er eure Herzen tröste[14].
