Gericht über Edom und andere Völker

1 Wer ist der, der von Edom kommt, von Bozra in grellroten Kleidern, er, der prächtig ⟨ist⟩ in seinem Gewand, der stolz einherzieht in der Fülle seiner Kraft? – Ich bin es, der in Gerechtigkeit redet, der mächtig ist zu retten^[1]. – (1Mo 36,33; Ps 45,4; Ps 65,6; Jes 34,1; Jes 42,1; Offb 19,13)

2 Warum ist Rot an deinem Gewand und sind deine Kleider wie die eines Keltertreters? – (Offb 19,13) 3 Ich habe die Kelter allein getreten, und von den Völkern war kein Mensch bei mir. Ich zertrat sie^[2] in meinem Zorn und zerstampfte sie in meiner Erregung. Und ihr Saft spritzte auf meine Kleider, und ich besudelte mein ganzes Gewand. 5 Und ich blickte umher, aber da war keiner, der half. Und ich wunderte mich, aber da war keiner, der ⟨mich⟩ unterstützte. Da hat mein Arm mir geholfen^[3], und mein Grimm, der hat mich unterstützt. Bußgebet um Erneuerung der Gnadenerweise Gottes

7 Ich will die Gnadenerweise des HERRN bekennen^[4], die Ruhmestaten des HERRN, nach allem, was der HERR uns erwiesen hat, und die große Güte gegen das Haus Israel, die er ihnen erwiesen hat nach seinen Erbarmungen und nach der Fülle seiner Gnadenerweise. So hast du dein Volk geleitet, um dir einen herrlichen Namen zu machen.« (2Sam 7,23; Jer 32,20) 15 Blicke vom Himmel herab und sieh von der Wohnstätte deiner Heiligkeit und deiner Majestät! The Lord’s Day of Vengeance

1 Who is this who comes from Edom, in crimsoned garments from Bozrah, he who is splendid in his apparel, marching in the greatness of his strength? “It is I, speaking in righteousness, mighty to save.” (Ps 68,7; Jes 34,6) 2 Why is your apparel red, and your garments like his who treads in the winepress? 3 “I have trodden the winepress alone, and from the peoples no one was with me; I trod them in my anger and trampled them in my wrath; their lifeblood^[1] spattered on my garments, and stained all my apparel. (Jes 59,16; Joe 3,13) 4 For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and my year of redemption^[2] had come. (Jes 34,8) 5 I looked, but there was no one to help; I was appalled, but there was no one to uphold; so my own arm brought me salvation, and my wrath upheld me. The Lord’s Mercy Remembered

7 I will recount the steadfast love of the Lord, the praises of the Lord, according to all that the Lord has granted us, and the great goodness to the house of Israel that he has granted them according to his compassion, according to the abundance of his steadfast love. (Ps 145,7) 8 For he said, “Surely they are my people, children who will not deal falsely.” And he became their Savior. 9 In all their affliction he was afflicted,^[3] and the angel of his presence saved them; in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old. Prayer for Mercy
