Dritte Rede des Elihu: Bedeutung des Tuns des Menschen – Keine Erhörung bei Gott bei Mangel an Gottesfurcht
1Und Elihu erhob ⟨seine Stimme⟩ und sagte: (Hi 32,6; Hi 34,1)2Hältst du dies für Recht, nennst du ⟨das⟩ »meine Gerechtigkeit vor Gott«,3wenn du fragst, was sie dir nützt: »Was[1] hilft es mir, dass ich nicht sündige?« – (Hi 21,15)4Ich will mit Worten dir erwidern und deinen Gefährten bei dir.5Blicke zum Himmel und sieh und schaue die Wolken an! Sie sind höher als du[2]. (Hi 11,7; Hi 22,12; Jes 55,8; Mt 16,23)6Wenn du sündigst, was kannst du ihm ⟨damit⟩ antun? Werden zahlreich deine Verbrechen, was kannst du ihm zufügen? (Hi 7,20)7Wenn du gerecht bist, was gibst du ihm, oder was empfängt er aus deiner Hand? (Hi 22,2; Röm 11,35)8Den Mann, dir gleich, ⟨trifft⟩ deine Gottlosigkeit und das Menschenkind deine Gerechtigkeit.9Wegen der Menge der Unterdrückung[3] erhebt man Klagegeschrei. Man ruft um Hilfe wegen der Gewalttätigkeit[4] der Großen. (Pred 4,1)10Aber man sagt nicht: Wo ist Gott, mein Schöpfer, der Lobgesänge gibt in der Nacht, (Ps 149,5; Jer 2,6; Apg 16,25; Röm 1,21)11der uns mehr als die Tiere der Erde belehrt und uns weiser macht als die Vögel des Himmels?12Dort schreien sie – doch er antwortet nicht – wegen des Übermutes der Bösen.13Ja, vergebens! Gott hört nicht, und der Allmächtige sieht es nicht an. (Ps 66,18)14Nun gar, wenn du sagst: du kannst ihn nicht sehen! Der Rechtsfall ⟨liegt⟩ ihm vor, so warte auf ihn[5]! (Hi 9,11; Ps 37,7; Jes 8,17; Kla 3,58; Mi 7,9)15Und nun, weil sein Zorn ⟨noch⟩ nicht heimgesucht hat und er sich nicht so sehr um Albernheiten[6] kümmert[7],16reißt Hiob für Nichtiges[8] seinen Mund auf, macht ohne Erkenntnis viele Worte. (Hi 34,35)
1And Elihu answered and said:2“Do you think this to be just? Do you say, ‘It is my right before God,’ (Hi 32,2)3that you ask, ‘What advantage have I? How am I better off than if I had sinned?’ (Hi 34,9)4I will answer you and your friends with you. (Hi 34,8; Hi 34,36)5Look at the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds, which are higher than you. (Hi 22,12)6If you have sinned, what do you accomplish against him? And if your transgressions are multiplied, what do you do to him? (Spr 8,36; Jer 7,19)7If you are righteous, what do you give to him? Or what does he receive from your hand? (Hi 22,2; Hi 41,11; Spr 9,12; Lk 17,10; Röm 11,35)8Your wickedness concerns a man like yourself, and your righteousness a son of man. (Hi 25,6)9“Because of the multitude of oppressions people cry out; they call for help because of the arm of the mighty.[1] (2Mo 2,23; Hi 22,8; Hi 34,28; Am 3,9)10But none says, ‘Where is God my Maker, who gives songs in the night, (5Mo 32,6; Hi 4,17; Ps 42,8; Ps 77,6; Ps 149,5; Apg 16,25)11who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth and makes us wiser than the birds of the heavens?’ (Hi 36,22; Ps 94,12; Jes 28,26)12There they cry out, but he does not answer, because of the pride of evil men. (Hi 27,9)13Surely God does not hear an empty cry, nor does the Almighty regard it.14How much less when you say that you do not see him, that the case is before him, and you are waiting for him! (Hi 9,11; Hi 13,15; Hi 23,8)15And now, because his anger does not punish, and he does not take much note of transgression,[2] (4Mo 16,29; Ps 89,32)16Job opens his mouth in empty talk; he multiplies words without knowledge.” (Hi 34,35; Hi 34,37; Hi 36,12; Hi 38,2; Hi 42,3)
