Hle, řekl jsem vám to.“ 8 Tu rychle opustily hrob a se strachem i s velikou radostí běžely to oznámit jeho učedníkům.9 A hle, Ježíš je potkal a řekl: „Buďte pozdraveny.“ Ženy přistoupily, objímaly jeho nohy a klaněly se mu.10 Tu jim Ježíš řekl: „Nebojte se. Jděte a oznamte mým bratřím, aby šli do Galileje; tam mě uvidí.“ 11 Když se ženy vzdálily, někteří ze stráže přišli do města a oznámili velekněžím, co se všechno stalo.12 Ti se sešli se staršími, poradili se a dali vojákům značné peníze13 s pokynem: „Řekněte, že jeho učedníci přišli v noci a ukradli ho, když jste spali.14 A doslechne-li se to vladař, my to urovnáme a postaráme se, abyste neměli těžkosti.“15 Vojáci vzali peníze a udělali to tak, jak se jim řeklo. A ten výklad je rozšířen mezi židy až podnes.

16 Jedenáct apoštolů se pak odebralo do Galileje, na horu, kterou jim Ježíš určil.17 Spatřili ho a klaněli se mu; ale někteří pochybovali.18 Ježíš přistoupil a řekl jim: „Je mi dána veškerá moc na nebi i na zemi.19 Jděte ke všem národům a získávejte mi učedníky, křtěte je ve jméno Otce i Syna i Ducha svatého20 a učte je, aby zachovávali všecko, co jsem vám přikázal. The Report of the Guard
11While they were going, behold, some of the guard went into the city and told the chief priests all that had taken place. (Mt 27,65)12And when they had assembled with the elders and taken counsel, they gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers13and said, “Tell people, ‘His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep.’ (Mt 27,64)14And if this comes to the governor’s ears, we will satisfy him and keep you out of trouble.” (Mt 27,2; Sk 12,20)15So they took the money and did as they were directed. And this story has been spread among the Jews to this day. (Mt 27,8)
