ROZMNOŽENÍ A ROZČLENĚNÍ LIDSTVA - Potomci Noeho, rozdělení do tří skupin, představují celé lidstvo, jeho možnosti i nebezpečí.

1 Toto je rodopis synů Noeho: Šém, Chám a Jefet. Po potopě se jim narodili synové. 2 Synové Jefetovi: Gomer a Magóg a Mádaj, Jávan a Túbal, Mešek a Tíras. 3 Synové Gomerovi: Aškenaz a Rífat a Togarma. 4 Synové Jávanovi: Elíša a Taršíš, Kitejci a Dódanci. 5 Z nich vzešly ostrovní pronárody v různých zemích, pronárody různého jazyka a různých čeledí. 6 Synové Chámovi: Kúš a Misrajim, Pút a Kenaan. 7 Synové Kúšovi: Seba a Chavíla, Sabta a Raema a Sabteka. Synové Raemovi: Šeba a Dedán. 8 Kúš pak zplodil Nimroda; ten se stal na zemi prvním bohatýrem. 9 Byl to bohatýrský lovec před Hospodinem; proto se říká: Jako Nimrod, bohatýrský lovec před Hospodinem. 10 Počátkem jeho království byl Babylón, Erek, Akad a Kalné v zemi Šineáru. 11 Z této země vyšel do Asýrie a vystavěl Ninive – i Rechobót-ír a Kelach 12 a Resen mezi Ninivem a Kelachem – to je to veliké město. 13 Misrajim zplodil Lúďany a Anámce, Lehábany a Naftúchany 14 i Patrúsany a Kaslúchany – z nich vyšli Pelištejci – a Kaftórce. 15 Kenaan zplodil Sidóna, svého prvorozeného, a Chéta, 16 Jebúsejce, Emorejce a Girgašejce 17 i Chivejce, Arkejce a Síňana, 18 Arváďana a Semárce a Chamáťana. Potom se čeledi kenaanské rozptýlily. 19 Pomezí kenaanské se táhlo od Sidónu směrem přes Gerar až ke Gáze, směrem přes Sodomu, Gomoru, Admu a Sebójím až k Leše. 20 To jsou synové Chámovi v různých zemích, pronárody různých čeledí a jazyků. 21 Také Šémovi, praotci všech Heberovců, staršímu bratrovi Jefeta, se narodili synové. 22 Synové Šémovi: Élam a Ašúr, Arpakšád a Lúd a Aram. 23 Synové Aramovi: Ús a Chúl, Geter a Maš. 24 Arpakšád zplodil Šelacha a Šelach zplodil Hebera. 25 Heberovi se narodili dva synové: jméno jednoho bylo Peleg (to je Rozčlenění), neboť za jeho dnů byla země rozčleněna; a jméno jeho bratra bylo Joktán. 26 Joktán pak zplodil Almódada a Šelefa, Chasarmáveta a Jeracha, 27 Hadórama a Úzala a Diklu, 28 Óbala a Abímaela a Šebu, 29 Ofíra a Chavílu a Jóbaba; ti všichni jsou synové Joktánovi. 30 Jejich sídliště bylo od Méši směrem k Sefáru, hoře na východě. 31 To jsou synové Šémovi různých čeledí a různých jazyků, různé pronárody v různých zemích. 32 To jsou čeledi synů Noeho podle jejich rodopisu v různých pronárodech; z nich pak po potopě vzešly všechny pronárody na zemi.

1 These are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Sons were born to them after the flood. 2 The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras. (1Pa 1,5; Ez 38,1) 3 The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah. 4 The sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim. (Nu 24,24; Ž 72,10; Iz 23,1; Iz 23,12; Ez 38,13; Da 11,30)

5 From these the coastland peoples spread in their lands, each with his own language, by their clans, in their nations. (Iz 11,11; Jr 2,10; Jr 25,22; Ez 27,6; Sf 2,11)

6 The sons of Ham: Cush, Egypt, Put, and Canaan. (1Pa 1,8) 7 The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan. 8 Cush fathered Nimrod; he was the first on earth to be a mighty man.^[1] 9 He was a mighty hunter before the Lord. Therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the Lord.” 10 The beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar. (Gn 11,2; Gn 11,9) 11 From that land he went into Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah, and 12 Resen between Nineveh and Calah; that is the great city. 13 Egypt fathered Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim, (1Pa 1,11) 14 Pathrusim, Casluhim (from whom^[2] the Philistines came), and Caphtorim. (Dt 2,23; Jr 47,4; Am 9,7) 15 Canaan fathered Sidon his firstborn and Heth, (Gn 15,18) 16 and the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites, 17 the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites, 18 the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites. Afterward the clans of the Canaanites dispersed. 19 And the territory of the Canaanites extended from Sidon in the direction of Gerar as far as Gaza, and in the direction of Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha. 20 These are the sons of Ham, by their clans, their languages, their lands, and their nations. 21 To Shem also, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, children were born. 22 The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram. (1Pa 1,17) 23 The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash. 24 Arpachshad fathered Shelah; and Shelah fathered Eber. (Gn 11,12; L 3,35) 25 To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg,^[3] for in his days the earth was divided, and his brother’s name was Joktan. (1Pa 1,19) 26 Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah, 27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah, 28 Obal, Abimael, Sheba, 29 Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan. (1Kr 9,28; 1Kr 10,11) 30 The territory in which they lived extended from Mesha in the direction of Sephar to the hill country of the east. 31 These are the sons of Shem, by their clans, their languages, their lands, and their nations. 32 These are the clans of the sons of Noah, according to their genealogies, in their nations, and from these the nations spread abroad on the earth after the flood.
