1 Better is a poor person who walks in his integrity than one who is crooked in speech and is a fool. (诗26:1; 诗26:11; 箴14:2; 箴20:7; 箴28:6)2 Desire[1] without knowledge is not good, and whoever makes haste with his feet misses his way. (箴21:5; 箴28:20; 箴29:20)3 When a man’s folly brings his way to ruin, his heart rages against the Lord. (诗37:7; 箴11:3; 赛8:21; 启16:11)4 Wealth brings many new friends, but a poor man is deserted by his friend. (箴14:20)5 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will not escape. (申19:16; 箴6:19; 箴12:19; 箴21:28)6 Many seek the favor of a generous man,[2] and everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts. (箴17:8)7 All a poor man’s brothers hate him; how much more do his friends go far from him! He pursues them with words, but does not have them.[3] (诗38:11; 箴19:4)8 Whoever gets sense loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will discover good. (箴15:32; 箴16:20)9 A false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will perish. (箴19:5)10 It is not fitting for a fool to live in luxury, much less for a slave to rule over princes. (箴17:7; 箴26:1; 箴30:22; 传10:6)11 Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense. (箴14:29)12 A king’s wrath is like the growling of a lion, but his favor is like dew on the grass. (诗133:3; 箴14:35; 箴16:14; 箴20:2; 箴28:15; 何14:5; 弥5:7)13 A foolish son is ruin to his father, and a wife’s quarreling is a continual dripping of rain. (箴10:1; 箴17:21; 箴21:9; 箴27:15)14 House and wealth are inherited from fathers, but a prudent wife is from the Lord. (箴18:22; 林后12:14)15 Slothfulness casts into a deep sleep, and an idle person will suffer hunger. (伯4:13; 箴6:9; 箴10:4; 箴20:4; 箴20:13; 箴23:21)16 Whoever keeps the commandment keeps his life; he who despises his ways will die. (箴13:13; 路10:28)17 Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will repay him for his deed. (申15:7; 箴12:14; 箴22:9; 箴28:27; 传11:1; 太10:42; 太25:40; 路6:38; 林后9:6; 來6:10)18 Discipline your son, for there is hope; do not set your heart on putting him to death. (申21:18; 箴13:24; 箴23:13)19 A man of great wrath will pay the penalty, for if you deliver him, you will only have to do it again.20 Listen to advice and accept instruction, that you may gain wisdom in the future. (诗37:37)21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. (伯23:13; 诗33:10; 赛14:26; 赛46:10)22 What is desired in a man is steadfast love, and a poor man is better than a liar.23 The fear of the Lord leads to life, and whoever has it rests satisfied; he will not be visited by harm. (利26:6; 诗25:13; 箴10:16; 箴11:19; 赛38:5; 可10:30)24 The sluggard buries his hand in the dish and will not even bring it back to his mouth. (箴15:19; 箴20:4; 箴26:15; 太26:23; 可14:20)25 Strike a scoffer, and the simple will learn prudence; reprove a man of understanding, and he will gain knowledge. (申13:6; 诗1:1; 箴9:8; 箴21:11)26 He who does violence to his father and chases away his mother is a son who brings shame and reproach. (箴10:5; 箴17:2)27 Cease to hear instruction, my son, and you will stray from the words of knowledge. (彼后2:21)28 A worthless witness mocks at justice, and the mouth of the wicked devours iniquity. (伯15:16; 伯34:7; 箴18:8)29 Condemnation is ready for scoffers, and beating for the backs of fools. (箴10:13; 箴18:6; 箴19:25; 箴26:3)
