1 Тогава Бог благослови Ной и синовете му и им каза: „Плодете се, размножавайте се и пълнете земята. (Бит 1:28) 2 Ще се боят от вас всички животни по земята и всички птици в небето; всичко, което се движи по земята, и всички риби в морето са дадени във вашите ръце. 3 Всичко живо, което се движи, ще ви бъде за храна; давам ви всичко като зелената трева. (Бит 1:29) 4 Само месо с живеца му, тоест с кръвта му, не яжте. (Лев 7:26; Лев 17:10; Лев 19:26; Вт 12:23; Вт 15:23; 1 Цар 14:33)

5 Затова ще потърся сметка за вашата кръв – от всяко животно и от всеки човек; за кръвта на всеки човек ще потърся сметка от братята му. 6 Който пролее кръвта на човек, от човек ще бъде пролята неговата кръв; защото по Божий образ човекът беше създаден. (Бит 1:27; Изх 20:13) 7 Плодете се и се размножавайте, населявайте земята и се умножавайте.“ (Бит 1:28) 8 След това Бог каза на Ной и на синовете му с него: 9 „Ето Аз сключвам Своя завет с вас и с потомството ви след вас, 10 и с всяко живо същество, което е при вас: с птиците и с добитъка, и с всички диви животни по земята, които са при вас, с всички, които излязат от ковчега – с всички животни по земята. 11 Аз сключвам Своя завет с вас, че всичките живи същества никога вече няма да бъдат изтребвани от водите на потоп, че никога няма друг потоп да опустоши земята.“ (Ис 54:9; Сир 44:18) 12 И Бог каза: „Ето знака на завета, който давам между Мене и вас и всяко живо същество, което е при вас, за всички поколения за вечни времена. 13 Аз поставям Своята дъга в облака да бъде знак на завета между Мене и земята. 14 И когато докарам облак над земята, ще се появи дъга в облаците 15 и ще Си спомня Моя завет, който е между Мене и вас и всяко живо същество, всяка твар; че водите няма вече да изтребят всяко живо същество. 16 Щом дъгата Ми се появи в облака и я погледна, ще си спомня вечния завет между Бога и между всяко живо същество твар по земята.“ 17 И Бог каза на Ной: „Това е знакът на завета, който сключих между Мене и всяка твар по земята.“ 18 Излезлите от ковчега синове на Ной бяха Сим, Хам и Яфет. Хам беше баща на Ханаан. (Бит 10:6) 19 Тези трима бяха Ноевите синове и от тях бе населена цялата земя. 20 Тогава Ной започна да обработва земята и насади лозе. 21 Той пи вино, опи се и лежеше гол в шатрата си. 22 И Хам, баща на Ханаан, видя голотата на баща си и разказа на двамата си братя отвън. 23 А Сим и Яфет взеха дреха и като я поставиха на раменете си, тръгнаха заднишком и покриха голотата на баща си; но лицата им бяха обърнати назад, така че те не видяха голотата на баща си. 24 Когато Ной се събуди от опиянението си и научи какво е направил младият му син, 25 рече: „Проклет да е Ханаан! Последен роб ще бъде на братята си.“ 26 Той каза още: „Благословен да е Господ, Симовият Бог. Нека Ханаан бъде техен роб. 27 Нека Бог даде простор за Яфет и той да се засели в шатрите на Сим, и нека Ханаан бъде техен роб.“ 28 И Ной живя триста и петдесет години след потопа. 29 А всички дни на Ной бяха девестотин и петдесет години; тогава той умря.

God makes a covenant with Noah

1 Then God blessed Noah and his sons. He said to them, ‘Have children so that there are many of you. Fill the earth. 2 All the land animals will be afraid of you. All the birds in the sky will be afraid of you. Every creature that moves along the ground will be afraid of you. So will every fish in the seas. Every living thing is put under your control. 3 Everything that lives and moves about will be food for you. I have already given you the green plants for food. Now I am giving you everything. 4 ‘But you must not eat meat that still has blood in it. 5 I will certainly hold someone accountable if you are murdered. I will even hold animals accountable if they kill you. I will also hold anyone accountable who murders another person. 6 ‘Anyone who murders a human being will be killed by a human being. That is because I have made human beings so that they are like me. 7 Have children so that there will be many of you. Multiply and become many on the earth.’ 8 Then God spoke to Noah and to his sons who were with him. He said, 9 ‘I am now making my covenant with you and with all your children who will be born after you. 10 I am making it also with every living creature that was with you in the ark. I am making my covenant with the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals. I am making it with all the creatures that came out of the ark with you. In fact, I am making it with every living thing on earth. 11 Here is my covenant I am making with you. The waters of a flood will never again destroy all life. A flood will never again destroy the earth.’ 12 God continued, ‘My covenant is between me and you and every living creature with you. It is a covenant for all time to come. Here is the sign of the covenant I am making. 13 I have put my rainbow in the clouds. It will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 Sometimes when I bring clouds over the earth, a rainbow will appear in them. 15 Then I will remember my covenant between me and you and every kind of living creature. The waters will never again become a flood to destroy all life. 16 When the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it. I will remember that my covenant will last for ever. It is a covenant between me and every kind of living creature on earth.’ 17 So God said to Noah, ‘The rainbow is the sign of my covenant. I have made my covenant between me and all life on earth.’

The sons of Noah

18 The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan. 19 The people who were scattered over the earth came from Noah’s three sons. 20 Noah was a man who farmed the land. He decided to plant a field that produced grapes for making wine. 21 When he drank some of the wine, it made him drunk. Then he lay down inside his tent without any clothes on. 22 Ham saw his father naked. Then Ham, the father of Canaan, went outside and told his two brothers. 23 But Shem and Japheth picked up a piece of clothing and laid it across their shoulders. Then they walked backwards into the tent. They covered their father’s body. They turned their faces away because they didn’t want to see their father naked. 24 Then Noah woke up from his sleep that was caused by the wine. He found out what his youngest son had done to him. 25 He said, ‘May a curse be put on Canaan! He will be the lowest of slaves to his brothers.’ 26 Noah also said, ‘May the LORD, the God of Shem, be praised. May Canaan be the slave of Shem. 27 May God add land to Japheth’s territory. May Japheth live in the tents of Shem. And may Canaan be the slave of Japheth.’ 28 After the flood Noah lived 350 years. 29 Noah lived a total of 950 years. And then he died.
