1 Тогава мъжете от Ефремовото племе казаха на Гедеон: „Защо направи така, че не ни призова, когато потегли на битка с мадиамците?“ И започнаха горещо да спорят с него. (Съд 12:1) 2 В отговор Гедеон им каза: „Победата, която извоювах, е нищо в сравнение с това, което ви се удаде. Вие знаете поговорката: „Баберките на Ефрем са по-добри от гроздобера на Авиезер.“ 3 Бог предаде под ваша власт мадиамските князе Орив и Зив – това засенчва всичко, което аз можах да извърша.“ Щом им каза тези думи, негодуванието им срещу него се уталожи. 4 След това Гедеон дойде при Йордан, премина го – той и тристата мъже, които бяха заедно с него. Gideon Defeats Zebah and Zalmunna

1 Then the men of Ephraim said to him, “What is this that you have done to us, not to call us when you went to fight against Midian?” And they accused him fiercely. 28 So Midian was subdued before the people of Israel, and they raised their heads no more. And the land had rest forty years in the days of Gideon. (Съд 3:11; Съд 5:31)

The Death of Gideon

29 Jerubbaal the son of Joash went and lived in his own house. (Съд 6:32; Съд 7:1) 30 Now Gideon had seventy sons, his own offspring,^[3] for he had many wives. (Съд 9:2; Съд 9:5) 31 And his concubine who was in Shechem also bore him a son, and he called his name Abimelech.
