1 Йосиф се поклони пред баща си, целува го и плака над него. (Бит 46:4) 2 И заповяда на лекарите, които му служеха, да балсамират баща му и те го направиха. 3 И минаха четиридесет дена, колкото са нужни за балсамирането. А пък египтяните го оплакваха до седемдесетия ден. 4 И когато изминаха дните на траур, Йосиф каза на фараоновите придворни: „Ако ме уважавате, кажете на фараона, 5 че баща ми ме закле, казвайки: „Ето аз умирам; погребете ме в моя гроб, който съм си изкопал в ханаанската земя“; искам да отида да погреба баща си и да се върна.“ (Бит 23:3) 6 А фараонът каза на Йосиф: „Иди погреби баща си, както те е заклел!“ 7 Тогава Йосиф отиде да погребе баща си. А с него бяха служителите на фараона и неговите придворни, както и всички старейшини на египетската земя, 8 семейството на Йосиф, братята му и целият му бащин род. Обещанието на Йосиф

Та аз не съм Бог. 20 Ето вие ми мислехте злото, но Бог го обърна в добро, за да се случи всичко това и да се запази животът на много хора. (Бит 45:5) 21 Затова не се страхувайте. Аз ще храня вас и децата ви.“ И ги успокои, като им каза това, което те искаха да чуят. 22 И живя Йосиф в Египет, той и родът на баща му. Йосиф живя всичко сто и десет години. 23 И доживя Йосиф трето поколение деца от Ефрем, а синовете на сина на Манасия Махир се родиха в коленете на Йосиф. 24 Един ден Йосиф каза на братята си: „Ето аз умирам. God’s Good Purposes

15 When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “It may be that Joseph will hate us and pay us back for all the evil that we did to him.” 16 So they sent a message to Joseph, saying, “Your father gave this command before he died: 17 ‘Say to Joseph, “Please forgive the transgression of your brothers and their sin, because they did evil to you.”’ And now, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father.” Joseph wept when they spoke to him. The Death of Joseph

25 Then Joseph made the sons of Israel swear, saying, “God will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here.” (Изх 13:19; И Н 24:32) 26 So Joseph died, being 110 years old. They embalmed him, and he was put in a coffin in Egypt. (Бит 50:2)
