1Pasados algunos días, volvió a entrar en Cafarnaum, y se oyó que estaba en casa.2Y se reunieron muchos, de modo que ya no había sitio ni aun frente a la puerta; y Él les hablaba la palabra.3Y vienen, y entre cuatro le traen un paralítico,4pero al no poder entrarlo por causa de la multitud, levantaron el techo encima de donde Él estaba, y luego de hacer una abertura, bajaron el catre donde yacía el paralítico.5Viendo Jesús la fe de ellos, dice al paralítico: Hijo, tus pecados te son perdonados.6Pero allí sentados había algunos de los escribas, y cavilaban en sus corazones:7¿Por qué habla éste así? Blasfemias dice, ¿quién puede perdonar pecados sino sólo Dios?8Al instante, percibiendo Jesús en su espíritu que cavilaban de este modo, les dice: ¿Por qué caviláis estas cosas en vuestros corazones?
El bautismo
9¿Qué es más fácil? ¿Decir al paralítico: Tus pecado te son perdonados, o decir: Levántate, toma tu catre y anda?10Pues para que sepáis que el Hijo del Hombre tiene potestad en la tierra para perdonar pecados (dice al paralítico):11A ti te digo: ¡Levántate, alza tu catre y vete a tu casa!
La tentación
12Y fue levantado, e inmediatamente alzó el catre y salió delante de todos, de manera que todos estaban asombrados y glorificaban a Dios, diciendo: ¡Jamás vimos algo así!
Leví, el publicano
13Y salió nuevamente junto al mar, y toda la multitud acudía a Él, y les enseñaba.
El ministerio en Galilea
14Y pasando, vio a Leví, el de Alfeo, sentado en el lugar de los tributos, y le dice: ¡Sígueme! Y levantándose, lo siguió.15Y sucedió que estando reclinado a la mesa en su casa (muchos publicanos y pecadores estaban reclinados a la mesa con Jesús y sus discípulos, pues eran muchos los que lo seguían),
Los primeros discípulos
16los escribas de los fariseos, viendo que comía con los pecadores y publicanos, decían a sus discípulos: ¿Con publicanos y pecadores come?17Al oírlo Jesús, les dice: Los sanos no tienen necesidad de médico, sino los enfermos. No vine a llamar a justos, sino a pecadores.
Sobre el ayuno
18Y los discípulos de Juan y de los fariseos estando de ayuno, van y le preguntan: ¿Por qué los discípulos de Juan y los discípulos de los fariseos ayunan, y tus discípulos no ayunan?19Jesús les dijo: ¿Pueden acaso ayunar los que asisten al esposo mientras el esposo está con ellos? Entre tanto tienen consigo al esposo, no pueden ayunar,20pero vendrán días cuando el esposo les sea quitado, entonces ayunarán en aquel día.
En Cafarnaum
21Nadie cose un remiendo de tela nueva sobre un vestido viejo, de otra manera, el remiendo nuevo tira de lo viejo, y se hace una rotura peor.22Y nadie echa vino nuevo en odres viejos, de otra manera, el vino reventará los odres, y se echan a perder el vino y los odres; antes bien: Vino nuevo en odres nuevos.
El Señor del sábado
23Aconteció que pasando por los sembrados en día de sábado, sus discípulos comenzaron a caminar arrancando las espigas.24Y los fariseos le decían: Mira, ¿por qué hacen lo que no es lícito hacer en el día de sábado?25Les dice: ¿Nunca leísteis qué hizo David, cuando tuvo necesidad y tuvo hambre él, y los que estaban con él:26Cómo entró en la Casa de Dios, en tiempo del sumo sacerdote Abiatar, y comió los panes de la proposición, de los cuales no es lícito comer sino a los sacerdotes, y dio también a los que estaban con él?27Y les decía: El sábado fue instituido para el hombre, y no el hombre para el sábado.28Por tanto, el Hijo del Hombre es también Señor del sábado.

And he arose and followed him.15And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.16And when the scribes and Pharisees saw him eat with publicans and sinners, they said unto his disciples, How is it that he eateth and drinketh with publicans and sinners?17When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.18And the disciples of John and of the Pharisees used to fast: and they come and say unto him, Why do the disciples of John and of the Pharisees fast, but thy disciples fast not?19And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them? as long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast.20But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days.21No man also seweth a piece of new cloth on an old garment: else the new piece that filled it up taketh away from the old, and the rent is made worse.22And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.23And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn.24And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful?25And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?26How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?27And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:28Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
