1Por tanto, habiendo sido declarados justos por la fe, tenemos paz ante Dios mediante nuestro Señor Jesucristo.2Por medio de quien también hemos obtenido derecho de entrada a esta gracia en la cual estamos firmes, y nos gloriamos en la esperanza de la gloria de Dios.3Y no sólo eso; sino que hasta nos gloriamos en las tribulaciones, sabiendo que la tribulación produce constancia,4y la paciencia, carácter aprobado, y el carácter aprobado, esperanza,5y la esperanza no será avergonzada, porque el amor de Dios ha sido derramado en nuestros corazones por el Espíritu Santo que nos fue dado.6Porque cuando aún éramos débiles, a su tiempo el Mesías murió por los impíos.7Ciertamente, con dificultad morirá alguno por un justo, aunque tal vez alguien se atreva a morir por el bueno.8Pero Dios demuestra su mismo amor hacia nosotros en que, siendo nosotros aún pecadores, el Mesías murió por nosotros.9Por tanto, mucho más ahora, habiendo sido declarados justos por su sangre, seremos salvos de la ira por medio de Él.10Porque si siendo enemigos, fuimos reconciliados con Dios por la muerte de su Hijo, mucho más, habiendo sido reconciliados, seremos salvos por su vida.11Y no sólo esto, sino que también nos gloriamos en Dios por medio de Jesús el Mesías, Señor nuestro, por el cual hemos recibido ahora la reconciliación.
Adán y el Mesías
12Por tanto, como el pecado entró en el mundo por medio de un hombre, y por medio del pecado la muerte, así también la muerte pasó a todos los hombres, por cuanto todos pecaron.13Porque hasta la ley, había pecado en el mundo, pero si no hay ley, no se toma en cuenta el pecado.14No obstante, la muerte reinó desde Adam hasta Moisés, aun sobre los que no pecaron en la semejanza del delito de Adam el cual es figura del que había de venir.15Pero el don no es como la transgresión. Porque si por la transgresión de uno murieron los muchos, mucho más abundó la gracia de Dios para los muchos, y el don por la gracia de un hombre: Jesús el Mesías.16Pero con el don no sucede como con el juicio trasmitido por medio de aquel uno que pecó; porque ciertamente el juicio surgió de una sola transgresión para condenación; pero el don gratuito vino a causa de muchas transgresiones para justificación.17Porque si por la transgresión del uno, la muerte reinó por medio del uno, mucho más reinarán en vida por uno, Jesús el Mesías, los que reciben la abundancia de la gracia y del don de la justicia.18Por tanto, así como por medio de una transgresión vino la culpa a todos los hombres para condenación, así también, por medio de un acto de justicia, vino la gracia a todos los hombres para justificación de vida.19Porque así como por la desobediencia de un hombre los muchos fueron constituidos pecadores, así por la obediencia de uno los muchos serán constituidos justos.20Así, la ley entró para que el pecado abundara; pero donde el pecado abundó, sobreabundó la gracia;21para que así como reinó el pecado para muerte, así también la gracia reine por la justicia para vida eterna, mediante Jesús el Mesías, Señor nuestro.
1Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we[1] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ro 3:28; Ro 15:13; Heb 12:28)2Through him we have also obtained access by faith[2] into this grace in which we stand, and we[3] rejoice[4] in hope of the glory of God. (Ro 5:11; Ro 12:12; 1 Co 15:1; Ef 2:18; Ef 3:12; Heb 3:6; Heb 10:19; 1 P 3:18)3Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, (Mt 5:12; Lc 21:19; Stg 1:3)4and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,5and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. (Sal 119:116; Hch 2:17; Hch 2:33; Gl 4:6; Flp 1:20; Tit 3:6)6For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. (Os 13:9; Ro 4:25; Ro 5:8; Ro 5:10; Ef 2:5)7For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—8but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Jn 3:16; Ro 5:6; Ro 5:10)9Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. (Ro 1:18; Ro 3:25; 1 Ts 1:10; 1 Ts 2:16)10For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. (Ro 5:6; Ro 5:8; Ro 8:32; 2 Co 4:10; 2 Co 5:18; Ef 2:16; Col 1:20; Col 1:21)11More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation. Death in Adam, Life in Christ
12Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men[5] because all sinned— (Gn 2:17; Gn 3:6; Sal 51:5; Ro 5:14; Ro 5:15; Ro 5:21; Ro 6:9; Ro 6:23; 1 Co 15:21; 1 Co 15:22; Ef 2:3; Stg 1:15)13for sin indeed was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not counted where there is no law. (Ro 3:20)14Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come. (Os 6:7; Mt 11:3; 1 Co 15:45)15But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if many died through one man’s trespass, much more have the grace of God and the free gift by the grace of that one man Jesus Christ abounded for many. (Is 53:11; Ro 5:19)16And the free gift is not like the result of that one man’s sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brought justification. (Ro 5:18; 1 Co 11:32)17For if, because of one man’s trespass, death reigned through that one man, much more will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man Jesus Christ. (Ap 22:5)18Therefore, as one trespass[6] led to condemnation for all men, so one act of righteousness[7] leads to justification and life for all men. (Jn 12:32)19For as by the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, so by the one man’s obedience the many will be made righteous. (2 Co 10:6; Flp 2:8; Heb 5:8)20Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, (Ro 3:20; Gl 3:19; 1 Ti 1:14)21so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. (Jn 1:17; Ro 5:12; Ro 5:14)
