1Hijo mío, si aceptas mis palabras, Y guardas mis mandamientos dentro de ti,2Haciendo atento tu oído a la sabiduría, E inclinando tu corazón a la inteligencia,3Si invocas a la prudencia, Y al entendimiento alzas tu voz,4Si la procuras como a la plata, Y la rebuscas como a tesoros escondidos,5Entonces entenderás el temor de YHVH, Y hallarás el conocimiento de Dios.6Porque YHVH da la sabiduría, De su boca procede la ciencia y la inteligencia.7Él atesora el acierto para los hombres rectos, Es escudo al que anda en integridad.8Es el que guarda las sendas de la justicia, Y preserva el camino de sus santos.9Entonces entenderás la justicia y el derecho, La equidad, y todo buen camino,10Cuando la sabiduría haya entrado en tu corazón, Y el conocimiento sea dulce a tu alma,11Te guardará la discreción, Y te preservará la prudencia,12Para librarte del camino malo; Del hombre que habla cosas perversas,13De los que abandonan los caminos rectos, Para andar por sendas tenebrosas;14De los que gozan haciendo el mal, Y se alegran en las perversidades del vicio,15Cuyas sendas son tortuosas, Y sus caminos extraviados.16Te librará de la mujer ajena, De la extraña que endulza sus palabras,17Que abandona al compañero de su juventud, Y olvida el pacto de su Dios.18Su casa se inclina hacia la muerte, Sus sendas hacia el país de las sombras.19Cuantos entran en él, no regresan, Ni retoman los senderos de la vida.20Para que sigas el buen camino, Y guardes los senderos del justo.21Porque los rectos habitarán en la tierra, Y los de limpio corazón permanecerán en ella.22Pero el malvado será cortado de la tierra, Y de ella serán desarraigados los transgresores.

(Sal 25:14; Jn 7:17; Jn 14:21)6For the Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; (Job 32:8)7he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, (Sal 3:3; Sal 84:11; Pr 30:5)8guarding the paths of justice and watching over the way of his saints. (1 S 2:9; Sal 30:4; Sal 66:9; Sal 97:10)9Then you will understand righteousness and justice and equity, every good path; (Pr 1:3; Pr 2:5)10for wisdom will come into your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul;11discretion will watch over you, understanding will guard you, (Pr 1:4; Pr 6:22)12delivering you from the way of evil, from men of perverted speech,13who forsake the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness, (Sal 82:5; Jn 3:19)14who rejoice in doing evil and delight in the perverseness of evil, (Sal 50:18; Pr 10:23; Jer 11:15; Ro 1:32)15men whose paths are crooked, and who are devious in their ways. (Sal 125:5; Pr 3:32; Pr 14:2; Pr 21:8)16So you will be delivered from the forbidden[1] woman, from the adulteress[2] with her smooth words, (Sal 5:9; Pr 6:24; Pr 7:5; Pr 23:27)17who forsakes the companion of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God; (Sal 55:13; Jer 3:4; Mal 2:14)18for her house sinks down to death, and her paths to the departed;[3] (Pr 7:27)19none who go to her come back, nor do they regain the paths of life.20So you will walk in the way of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous.21For the upright will inhabit the land, and those with integrity will remain in it, (Pr 10:30)22but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the treacherous will be rooted out of it.
