1Palabra que habló el profeta Jeremías a Baruc ben Nerías, cuando éste había escrito en el rollo aquellas palabras de boca de Jeremías, en el año cuarto de Joacim ben Josías, rey de Judá, diciendo:2Así dice YHVH, el Dios de Israel, a ti, oh Baruc:3Tú dijiste: ¡Ay de mí, porque YHVH ha añadido tristeza a mi dolor! ¡Estoy cansado de gemir, y no hallo descanso!4Así le dirás: Dice YHVH: He aquí, Yo destruyo a los que edifiqué y arranco a los que planté, y eso en toda esta tierra.5¿Y tú buscas para ti grandezas? ¡No las busques! porque he aquí, Yo traigo mal sobre toda carne, dice YHVH. Pero tu vida te será dada por botín en todos los lugares adonde tú vayas.
