1Aquel día YHVH visitará con su espada, grande, templada y poderosa, Al Leviatán, serpiente huidiza, Al Leviatán, serpiente tortuosa, Y matará al dragón del mar.2Aquel día entonaréis el cántico de la viña deleitosa.3Yo, YHVH, soy su guardián, La riego en todo momento Para que nadie la dañe, La guardo noche y día.4No hay indignación en mí; Si me diera espinos y cardos, Me lanzaría sobre ella para quemarlos todos;5Si se acoge a mi amparo, Hará las paces conmigo, Sí, las paces hará conmigo.6En días por venir Jacob echará raíces, Israel florecerá y echará renuevos, Y sus frutos llenarán la faz del mundo.7¿Lo hirió como hirió al que lo hirió? ¿Lo mató como mató a los que lo mataron?8Antes, al enviarla lejos, contendiste con ella con moderación; Con su viento recio la apartó en día de solano.9Con esto se expiará la transgresión de Jacob; Y éste será el fruto de alejar su pecado: Dejar las piedras de los altares Como piedra caliza triturada, Y no dejar en pie aseras ni estelas.10La ciudad fortificada está solitaria, Sus moradas abandonadas, Dejada como un desierto. Allí pastan los novillos, Allí caen y se secan sus sarmientos.11Secándose las ramas, se quiebran; Vienen mujeres y las hacen arder. Porque es un pueblo insensato, Su Hacedor no se apiada, Su Creador no lo compadece.12Aquel día trillará YHVH las espigas, desde el Gran Río hasta el Torrente de Egipto, Pero vosotros, hijos de Israel, seréis espigados uno a uno.13Aquel día resonará fuertemente el shofar, Y vendrán los dispersos de Asiria y los desterrados de Egipto, Y se postrarán ante YHVH en el Monte Santo, en Jerusalem.
1In that day the Lord with his hard and great and strong sword will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the twisting serpent, and he will slay the dragon that is in the sea. Lest anyone punish it, I keep it night and day;4I have no wrath. Would that I had thorns and briers to battle! I would march against them, I would burn them up together. (Is 10:17)5Or let them lay hold of my protection, let them make peace with me, let them make peace with me.”6In days to come[2] Jacob shall take root, Israel shall blossom and put forth shoots and fill the whole world with fruit. (Is 37:31; Os 14:5)7Has he struck them as he struck those who struck them? Or have they been slain as their slayers were slain? (Is 37:18; Is 37:36; Os 6:1)8Measure by measure,[3] by exile you contended with them; he removed them with his fierce breath[4] in the day of the east wind. (Jer 10:24; Jer 18:17)9Therefore by this the guilt of Jacob will be atoned for, and this will be the full fruit of the removal of his sin:[5] when he makes all the stones of the altars like chalkstones crushed to pieces, no Asherim or incense altars will remain standing. (Dt 16:21; 2 R 18:4; Is 22:14)10For the fortified city is solitary, a habitation deserted and forsaken, like the wilderness; there the calf grazes; there it lies down and strips its branches. (Is 17:9; Is 32:14; Is 32:19; Os 8:14; Miq 5:11)11When its boughs are dry, they are broken; women come and make a fire of them. For this is a people without discernment; therefore he who made them will not have compassion on them; he who formed them will show them no favor. (Dt 32:28; Is 30:16)12In that day from the river Euphrates[6] to the Brook of Egypt the Lord will thresh out the grain, and you will be gleaned one by one, O people of Israel. (Gn 15:18)13And in that day a great trumpet will be blown, and those who were lost in the land of Assyria and those who were driven out to the land of Egypt will come and worship the Lord on the holy mountain at Jerusalem. (Lv 25:9; Is 2:2; Is 11:11; Is 11:16; Miq 7:12; Mt 24:31; Ap 11:15)
