1Para la libertad nos libertó el Mesías; estad, pues, firmes, y no estéis otra vez sujetos al yugo de esclavitud.2Mirad, yo, Pablo, os digo: Si os circuncidáis, de nada os aprovechará el Mesías.3Y otra vez testifico a todo hombre que se circuncida, que está obligado a practicar toda la ley.4Los que por la ley intentáis ser justificados, del Mesías fuisteis desligados. ¡De la gracia habéis caído!5Porque nosotros, mediante el Espíritu, por fe, esperamos la promesa de la justicia.6Porque en Jesús el Mesías ni la circuncisión vale algo, ni la incircuncisión, sino la fe que obra por el amor.7Corríais bien, ¿quién os estorbó para no ser persuadidos por la verdad?8Esta persuasión no procede de Aquél que os llama.9Un poco de levadura leuda toda la masa.10Respecto de vosotros, yo confío en el Señor que ninguna otra cosa pensaréis; pero el que os perturba llevará su castigo, quienquiera que sea.11Y yo, hermanos, si aún predico la circuncisión, ¿por qué soy todavía perseguido? Así pues, queda anulado el escándalo de la cruz.12¡Ojalá se mutilaran los que os perturban!13Porque vosotros hermanos, a libertad fuisteis llamados; sólo que no uséis la libertad como oportunidad para la carne, sino servíos los unos a los otros por medio del amor.14Porque toda la ley queda cumplida en esta sola palabra: Amarás a tu prójimo como a ti mismo.15Pero si os mordéis y os coméis los unos a los otros, mirad que no seáis consumidos los unos por los otros.
La carne y el espíritu
16Digo, pues: Andad en el espíritu, y no satisfagáis los deseos apasionados de la carne.17Porque la carne tiene deseos contrarios a los del espíritu, y el espíritu a los de la carne, y éstos se oponen entre sí para que no prosigáis haciendo lo que deseáis.18Pero si sois guiados por el Espíritu, no estáis bajo la ley.19Y evidentes son las obras de la carne, las cuales son: fornicación, impureza, lascivia,20idolatría, hechicería, hostilidades, contienda, celos, enojos, rivalidades, disensiones, herejías,21envidias, borracheras, orgías, y cosas como éstas; sobre las cuales os amonesto de antemano, como antes dije, que los que practican tales cosas no heredarán el reino de Dios.22Pero el fruto del espíritu es amor, gozo y paz; paciencia, benignidad y bondad; fidelidad,23mansedumbre y templanza; en contra de tales cosas, no hay ley.24Pues los que son del Mesías crucificaron la carne con las pasiones y deseos.25Ahora que vivimos por el Espíritu, andemos en el espíritu.26No nos hagamos vanagloriosos, provocándonos los unos a los otros, envidiándonos los unos a los otros.

(1 Co 1:23; Gl 4:29; Gl 6:12; 1 P 2:8)12I wish those who unsettle you would emasculate themselves! (Gl 2:4; Gl 5:10)13For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. (1 Co 8:9; 1 Co 9:19; 1 P 2:16; 2 P 2:19; Jud 1:4)14For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” (Lv 19:18; Mt 7:12; Mt 19:19; Mt 22:40; Jn 13:34; Gl 5:22; Gl 6:2)15But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another. Keep in Step with the Spirit
16But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. (Ro 8:4; Ro 13:14; Gl 5:24; Ef 2:3)17For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. (Ro 7:15; Ro 7:18; Ro 7:23; Ro 8:5)18But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. (Ro 7:4; Ro 8:14)19Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, (Mt 15:18; 1 Co 3:3; Ef 5:3; Col 3:5; Stg 3:14)20idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, (1 Co 11:19)21envy,[4] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do[5] such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (1 Co 6:9; Col 3:6)22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, (Ro 5:1; Ro 7:4; Ro 8:5; 2 Co 6:6; Ef 5:9; Col 3:12)23gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Hch 24:25; Ef 4:2; 1 Ti 1:9)24And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. (Ro 6:6; Ro 7:5; Gl 5:16)25If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. (Gl 5:16)26Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another. (Flp 2:3)
