1Ахаав съобщи на Езавел всичко, което беше направил Илия, и как беше избил с меч всички пророци. (Рут 1:17; 3 Цар 20:10; 4 Цар 6:31)3А като чу това[1], Илия стана и отиде да спасява живота си. И като дойде във Вирсавее Юдов, остави слугата си там.4А той самият отиде на еднодневен път в пустинята и спря, и седна под една хвойна. И поиска за себе си да умре, като каза: Стига сега, ГОСПОДИ. Вземи душата ми, защото не съм по-добър от бащите си. (Чис 11:15; Йона 4:3; Йона 4:8)5Тогава легна и заспа под хвойната. По-късно ангел се допря до него и му каза: Стани, яж.6Илия погледна и видя, че до главата му имаше пита, печена на жарава, и стомна с вода. И Илия яде, пи и пак легна.7А ангелът ГОСПОДЕН дойде втори път и се допря до него, като му каза: Стани, яж, защото пътят е много дълъг за теб.8И той стана, яде и пи и със силата от онова ястие пътува четиридесет дни и четиридесет нощи до Божията планина Хорив. Тогава ГОСПОДНЕТО слово дойде към него и му каза: Какво правиш тук, Илия?10А той отговори: Аз съм бил много ревнив за ГОСПОДА, Бога на Силите; защото израилтяните изоставиха завета Ти, събориха жертвениците Ти и избиха с меч пророците Ти. Призоваването на Елисей
19И така, Илия тръгна оттам и намери Елисей, Сафатовия син, който ореше с дванадесет двойки волове пред себе си; а самият той беше с дванадесетата. The Lord Speaks to Elijah
9There he came to a cave and lodged in it. For the people of Israel have forsaken your covenant, thrown down your altars, and killed your prophets with the sword, and I, even I only, am left, and they seek my life, to take it away.” (Чис 25:11; Чис 25:13; 3 Цар 18:4; 3 Цар 18:22; 3 Цар 18:30; Рим 11:3)11And he said, “Go out and stand on the mount before the LORD.” And behold, the LORD passed by, and a great and strong wind tore the mountains and broke in pieces the rocks before the LORD, but the LORD was not in the wind. The Call of Elisha
19So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen in front of him, and he was with the twelfth. Elijah passed by him and cast his cloak upon him.
