(Чис 33:14)2И народът укоряваше Моисея и думаше: дайте ни вода да пием. Каза им Моисей: защо ме укорявате? Защо изкушавате Господа? (Чис 20:2; Вт 9:7)3И жадуваше за вода народът там, роптаеше против Моисея и думаше: защо ни изведе от Египет, за да умориш от жажда нас и децата ни и стадата ни? (Изх 14:11)4Моисей извика към Бога и каза: какво да правя с тоя народ? Още малко, и ще ме убият с камъни. (Чис 14:10)5И рече Господ на Моисея: излез пред народа, и вземи със себе си ня кои от стареите Израилеви; вземи в ръка и тоягата си, с която удари по водата, и иди: (Изх 7:20)6ето, Аз ще застана пред тебе там на скалата в Хорив, а ти ще удариш в скалата, и от нея ще протече вода, и народът ще пие. Тъй и направи Моисей пред очите на стареите израилски. (Чис 20:11; Пс 77:16; Пс 104:35; 1 Кор 10:4; Прем 11:4)7И нарече това място с име: Маса и Мерива[1], поради караницата на Израилевите синове, и защото те изкушаваха Господа, думайки: дали е между нас Господ, или не?8И дойдоха амаликитци и се биха с израилтяните в Рефидим. (Вт 25:17; Прем 11:3)9Моисей каза на Иисуса: избери ни мъже (силни) и иди, та се срази с амаликитци; утре аз ще застана навръх могила та, и Божията тояга ще бъде в ръката ми. (И Н 1:1)10И стори Иисус, както му каза Моисей, и (отиде да) се срази с амаликитци; а Моисей, Аарон и Ор се качиха навръх могилата. (Изх 24:14; Изх 31:2)11И колчем дигнеше Моисей ръцете си, надвиваше Израил, а колчем спуснеше ръцете си, надвиваше Амалик. (И Н 8:18)12А на Моисея натегнаха ръцете, и тогава взеха камък, та му подложиха, и той седна на него, а Аарон и Ор подпираха ръцете му, един от едната, а друг от другата страна. Тъй стояха ръцете му издигнати до залез-слънце.13И порази Иисус Амалика и народа му с острието на меча. (Съд 4:23; Прем 11:3)14И рече Господ на Моисея: запиши това за спомен в книгата и внуши на Иисуса, че Аз съвсем ще излича спомена за амаликитци от поднебесието. (Изх 34:27; Чис 24:20; Вт 25:17; Вт 25:19)15Тогава Моисей съзида жертвеник (Господу) и го нарече с име Иехова Ниси[2],16понеже, каза той, ръка има върху престола Господен: Господ ще воюва против Амалика от рода в род.
1All the congregation of the people of Israel moved on from the wilderness of Sin by stages, according to the commandment of the Lord, and camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. (Изх 16:1; Чис 33:12; Чис 33:14)2Therefore the people quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water to drink.” And Moses said to them, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you test the Lord?” (Чис 20:3; Вт 6:16; Пс 78:18; Пс 78:41; Пс 95:8; Ис 7:12; Мт 4:7; 1 Кор 10:9; Евр 3:8)3But the people thirsted there for water, and the people grumbled against Moses and said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our livestock with thirst?” (Изх 15:24; Изх 16:2)4So Moses cried to the Lord, “What shall I do with this people? They are almost ready to stone me.” (Чис 14:10; И Н 9:25; 1 Цар 30:6; 3 Цар 21:13; 2 Лет 24:21; Мт 23:37; Лк 13:34; Йн 8:59; Йн 10:31; Йн 11:8; Д А 7:58; Д А 14:5; Д А 14:19; 2 Кор 11:25; Евр 11:37)5And the Lord said to Moses, “Pass on before the people, taking with you some of the elders of Israel, and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. (Изх 7:20)6Behold, I will stand before you there on the rock at Horeb, and you shall strike the rock, and water shall come out of it, and the people will drink.” And Moses did so, in the sight of the elders of Israel. (Чис 20:8; Вт 8:15; Неем 9:15; Пс 78:15; Пс 78:20; Пс 105:41; Пс 114:8; Ис 43:20; Ис 48:21; 1 Кор 10:4)7And he called the name of the place Massah[1] and Meribah,[2] because of the quarreling of the people of Israel, and because they tested the Lord by saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?” (Чис 20:13; Пс 81:7; Пс 95:8)
Israel Defeats Amalek
8Then Amalek came and fought with Israel at Rephidim. (Вт 25:17; 1 Цар 15:2)9So Moses said to Joshua, “Choose for us men, and go out and fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.” (Изх 4:20; Изх 24:13; Изх 32:17; Изх 33:11)10So Joshua did as Moses told him, and fought with Amalek, while Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill. (Изх 17:9; Изх 24:14; Изх 31:2)11Whenever Moses held up his hand, Israel prevailed, and whenever he lowered his hand, Amalek prevailed. (1 Тим 2:8)12But Moses’ hands grew weary, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it, while Aaron and Hur held up his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. So his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. (Изх 17:10)13And Joshua overwhelmed Amalek and his people with the sword. The Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” (Изх 17:14)
