1Byl pak muž nějaký s hory Efraim, jehož jméno bylo Mícha.2Kterýž řekl matce své: Ten tisíc a sto stříbrných, kteříž vzati byli tobě, pro něž jsi zlořečila a mluvilas přede mnou, hle, stříbro to u mne jest, já jsem je vzal. I řekla matka jeho: Požehnaný jsi, synu můj, od Hospodina.3Navrátil tedy ten tisíc a sto stříbrných matce své. I řekla matka jeho: Jižť jsem zajisté posvětila stříbro to Hospodinu z ruky své, a tobě synu svému, aby udělán byl obraz rytý a slitý. Protož nyní dám je tobě.4On pak navrátil to stříbro matce své, z něhož vzala matka jeho dvě stě stříbrných, a dala zlatníku. I udělal z nich obraz rytý a slitý, kterýž byl v domě Míchově.5Měl pak ten Mícha chrám bohů, i udělal efod a terafim, a naplnil ruce jednoho z synů svých, aby mu byl knězem.6Toho času nebylo krále v Izraeli; jeden každý, což se mu za dobré vidělo, to činil.7Byl pak mládenec z Betléma Judova, totiž z čeledi Judovy, kterýž, jsa Levíta, byl tam pohostinu.8Odšel tedy člověk ten z města Betléma Judova, aby byl pohostinu, kdež by se mu koli nahodilo. I přišel na horu Efraim, až k domu Míchovu, jda cestou svou.9Jemuž řekl Mícha: Odkud jdeš? Odpověděl mu: Já jsem Levíta, z Betléma Judova beru se, abych byl pohostinu, kdež by mi se koli nahodilo.10I řekl jemu Mícha: Zůstaň u mne, a buď mi za otce a za kněze, a buduť dávati deset stříbrných na každý rok, a dvoje roucho i stravu tvou. I šel Levíta.11Líbilo se pak Levítovi zůstati u muže toho, a byl u něho mládenec ten, jako jeden z synů jeho.12I posvětil Mícha rukou Levíty, a byl mu mládenec ten za kněze; i bydlil v domě jeho.13Řekl pak Mícha: Nyníť vím, že mi dobře učiní Hospodin, proto že mám toho Levítu za kněze.

1 Byl jeden muž z Efrajimského pohoří jménem Míkajáš.2Přiznal se své matce: „Těch tisíc sto šekelů stříbra, které ti byly vzaty, pro něž jsi dokonce vyřkla přede mnou kletbu, to stříbro je u mne, já jsem je vzal.“ Tu jeho matka řekla: „Můj synu, buď požehnán Hospodinu!“3 Vrátil matce těch tisíc sto šekelů stříbra a matka prohlásila: „To stříbro jsem cele zasvětila Hospodinu. Předávám je tobě, můj synu, abys z něho dal udělat sochu tesanou a litou. Dávám ti je nyní zpátky.“4 Ale on vrátil stříbro své matce. I vzala dvě stě šekelů stříbra a dala je zlatníkovi; udělal z nich sochu tesanou a litou, která pak byla v Míkově domě.5 Ten muž, Míka, měl totiž svatyni. Udělal efód a domácí bůžky a pověřil jednoho ze svých synů, aby mu sloužil jako kněz.6 V těch dnech neměli v Izraeli krále. Každý dělal, co uznal za správné. 7 Byl jeden mládenec z judského Betléma, z Judovy čeledi; byl to lévijec a pobýval tam jako host.8 Ten muž odešel z města, z judského Betléma, aby pobýval jako host, kde se mu naskytne. Při svém putování došel na Efrajimské pohoří k Míkovu domu.9 Míka se ho otázal: „Odkud přicházíš?“ Odpověděl mu: „Jsem lévijec z judského Betléma a putuji, abych pobýval jako host, kde se mi naskytne.“10 Míka mu navrhl: „Zůstaň u mne a budeš mi otcem a knězem. Budu ti za to dávat deset šekelů stříbra ročně, ošacení a stravu.“ Lévijec na to přistoupil.11 Přivolil zůstat u toho muže. A byl mu mládenec jako jeden z jeho synů.12 Míka lévijského mládence pověřil, aby mu sloužil jako kněz; zůstal tedy v Míkově domě.13 Míka si řekl: „Nyní vím, že mi Hospodin bude prokazovat dobro, neboť mám za kněze lévijce.“

Každý si dělal, co chtěl.7V judském Betlémě byl jeden mladý levita, který bydlel v Judově rodu.8Ten muž ale z judského Betléma odešel hledat si jiné místo k bydlení. Přišel do Efraimských hor a doputoval až k Míkovu domu.9„Odkud jdeš?“ zeptal se ho Míka. „Jsem levita z judského Betléma. Hledám si místo k bydlení,“ on na to.10„Zůstaň u mě,“ řekl mu Míka. „Dělej mi otce a kněze za deset šekelů[3] stříbra ročně a k tomu ošacení a stravu.“11A levita u něj ochotně zůstal; ten mladík pak byl pro Míku jako jeden z jeho synů.12Míka ho pověřil, aby mu dělal kněze, a ten levitský mladík bydlel v jeho domě.13Míka si říkal: „Teď ke mně Hospodin určitě bude dobrotivý – vždyť mám za kněze levitu!“
