1 Tedy opět synové Izraelští činili to, což jest zlého před očima Hospodinovýma, i vydal je Hospodin v ruce Filistinských za čtyřidceti let. 2 Byl pak muž jeden z Zaraha, z čeledi Dan, jménem Manue, jehož manželka byla neplodná a nerodila. 3 I ukázal se anděl Hospodinův ženě té a řekl jí: Aj, nyní jsi neplodná, aniž jsi rodila; počneš pak a porodíš syna. 4 Protož nyní vystříhej se, abys vína nepila aneb nápoje opojného, a abys nejedla nic nečistého. 5 Nebo aj, počneš a porodíš syna, a břitva ať nevchází na hlavu jeho, nebo bude to dítě od života Nazarejský Boží, a tenť počne vysvobozovati Izraele z ruky Filistinských. 6 I přišla žena a pověděla to muži svému, řkuci: Muž Boží přišel ke mně, jehož oblíčej byl jako oblíčej anděla Božího, hrozný velmi, a neotázala jsem se jeho, odkud by byl, ani mi svého jména neoznámil. 7 Ale řekl mi: Aj, počneš a porodíš syna, protož nyní nepí vína aneb nápoje opojného, aniž jez co nečistého, nebo to dítě od života bude Nazarejský Boží až do dne smrti své. 8 Tedy Manue modlil se Hospodinu a řekl: Vyslyš mne, můj Pane, prosím, nechť muž Boží, kteréhož jsi byl poslal, zase přijde k nám, a naučí nás, co máme dělati s dítětem, kteréž se má naroditi. 9 I vyslyšel Bůh hlas Manue; nebo přišel anděl Boží opět k ženě té, když seděla na poli. Manue pak muž její nebyl s ní. 10 A protož s chvátáním běžela žena ta, a oznámila muži svému, řkuci jemu: Hle, ukázal se mi muž ten, kterýž byl ke mně prvé přišel. 11 Vstav pak Manue, šel za manželkou svou, a přišed k muži tomu, řekl jemu: Ty-li jsi ten muž, kterýž jsi mluvil k manželce mé? Odpověděl: Jsem. 12 I řekl Manue: Nechť se nyní stane slovo tvé, ale jaká péče o to dítě a správa při něm býti má? 13 Odpověděl anděl Hospodinův Manue: Ode všeho toho, o čemž jsem oznámil ženě, ať se ona vystříhá. 14 Ničeho, což pochází z vinného kmene, ať neužívá, to jest, vína aneb nápoje opojného ať nepije, a nic nečistého ať nejí; cožkoli jsem jí přikázal, ať ostříhá. 15 Tedy řekl Manue andělu Hospodinovu: Medle, nechť tě pozdržíme, a připravímeť kozlíka. 16 I odpověděl anděl Hospodinův Manue: Bys mne i pozdržel, nebuduť jísti pokrmu tvého, ale jestliže připravíš obět zápalnou, Hospodinu ji obětuj. Nebo nevěděl Manue, že byl anděl Hospodinův. 17 Řekl opět Manue andělu Hospodinovu: Jaké jest jméno tvé, abychom, když se naplní řeč tvá, poctili tebe? 18 Jemuž odpověděl anděl Hospodinův: Proč se ptáš na jméno mé, kteréž jest divné? 19 Vzav tedy Manue kozlíka a obět suchou, obětoval to na skále Hospodinu, a on divnou věc učinil, an na to hledí Manue a manželka jeho. 20 Nebo když vstupoval plamen s oltáře k nebi, vznesl se anděl Hospodinův v plameni s oltáře, Manue pak a manželka jeho vidouce to, padli na tvář svou na zemi. 21 A již se více neukázal anděl Hospodinův Manue ani manželce jeho. Tedy porozuměl Manue, že byl anděl Hospodinův. 22 I řekl Manue manželce své: Jistě my zemřeme, nebo jsme Boha viděli. 23 Jemuž odpověděla manželka jeho: Kdyby nás chtěl Hospodin usmrtiti, nebyl by přijal z rukou našich oběti zápalné a suché, aniž by nám byl ukázal čeho toho, aniž by na tento čas byl nám ohlásil věcí takových. 24 A tak žena ta porodila syna a nazvala jméno jeho Samson. I rostlo dítě, a žehnal jemu Hospodin. 25 I počal ho Duch Hospodinův ponoukati v Mahane Dan, mezi Zaraha a Estaol.

On začne vysvobozovat Izraele z rukou Pelištejců.“ 6 Žena přišla povědět svému muži: „Přišel ke mně muž Boží; vypadal jako Boží posel, tak byl hrozný. Ani jsem se ho nezeptala, odkud je, a on mi své jméno nepověděl. 7 Řekl mi: ‚Hle, otěhotníš a porodíš syna. Nepij teď víno ani opojný nápoj a nejez nic nečistého, protože ten chlapec bude od mateřského života až do dne své smrti Boží zasvěcenec.‘“ 8 Manóach prosil Hospodina: „Dovol prosím, Panovníku, nechť k nám znovu přijde muž Boží, kterého jsi poslal, a poučí nás, co máme dělat s chlapcem, který se má narodit.“ 9 Bůh Manóacha vyslyšel a Boží posel přišel znovu k té ženě, právě když seděla na poli a její muž Manóach nebyl s ní. 10 Žena rychle běžela povědět o tom svému muži. Řekla mu: „Ukázal se mi ten muž, který ke mně onehdy přišel.“ 11 Manóach šel hned za svou ženou, přišel k tomuto muži a otázal se ho: „Jsi ty ten muž, který mluvil k této ženě?“ On odpověděl: „Jsem.“ 12 Manóach řekl: „Nuže, až se splní tvá slova, na co je nutno u toho chlapce dbát a co s ním máme činit?“ 13 Hospodinův posel Manóachovi odpověděl: „Ať se žena varuje všeho, o čem jsem jí řekl. 14 Ať neokusí ničeho, co pochází z vinné révy. Nesmí pít víno ani opojný nápoj ani jíst něco nečistého. Ať bedlivě dbá na všechno, co jsem jí přikázal.“ 15 Manóach řekl Hospodinovu poslu: „Dovol, abychom tě zdrželi a připravili ti kůzle.“ 16 Ale Hospodinův posel Manóachovi odpověděl: „I kdybys mě zdržel, nejedl bych z tvého pokrmu. Chceš-li však připravit zápalnou oběť, obětuj ji Hospodinu.“ Manóach totiž nevěděl, že je to posel Hospodinův. 17 Manóach se ještě Hospodinova posla zeptal: „Jaké je tvé jméno? Rádi bychom tě poctili, až se splní tvá slova.“ 18 Ale Hospodinův posel mu odvětil: „Proč se ptáš na mé jméno? Je podivuhodné.“ 19 Manóach vzal tedy kůzle a oběť přídavnou a obětoval na té skále Hospodinu a ten před Manóachem a jeho ženou učinil podivuhodnou věc: 20 Když totiž vystupoval plamen z oltáře k nebi, vystoupil v plameni z oltáře i Hospodinův posel. Jak to uviděli Manóach a jeho žena, padli tváří k zemi. 21 Potom se už Hospodinův posel Manóachovi a jeho ženě neukázal. Tehdy Manóach poznal, že to byl posel Hospodinův, 22 a řekl své ženě: „Určitě zemřeme, neboť jsme viděli Boha.“ 23 Jeho žena mu však odpověděla: „Kdyby nás chtěl Hospodin usmrtit, nepřijal by od nás oběť zápalnou ani přídavnou, nebyl by nám toto všechno ukázal, ani by nám teď neoznámil něco takového.“ 24 I porodila ta žena syna a dala mu jméno Samson. Chlapec vyrostl a Hospodin mu žehnal. 25 A duch Hospodinův ho začal ponoukat v Danovském táboře mezi Soreou a Eštaólem.

Samou hrůzou jsem se nezeptala, odkud je. Neřekl mi ani své jméno, 7 ale oznámil mi: ‚Hle, počneš a porodíš syna. Proto teď nepij víno ani pivo a nejez nic nečistého, protože ten chlapec bude od matčina lůna až do své smrti zasvěcen Bohu jako nazír.‘“ 8 Manoach se tedy modlil k Hospodinu: „Odpusť, Pane můj. Ať nás prosím ten Boží muž, kterého jsi poslal, navštíví znovu a poučí nás, co máme dělat s tím chlapcem, který se má narodit.“ 9 Bůh Manoacha vyslyšel a Boží anděl jeho ženu znovu navštívil, když byla na poli. Její muž Manoach s ní právě nebyl, 10 a tak se dala rychle do běhu, aby mu to oznámila. „Honem,“ řekla mu, „ukázal se mi ten muž, který mě předtím navštívil!“ 11 Manoach vstal a šel za svou ženou. Když došel k onomu muži, zeptal se ho: „Ty jsi ten muž, který mluvil s mou ženou?“ „Ano,“ odpověděl. 12 Manoach mu řekl: „Až dojde na tvá slova, jak se máme ohledně toho chlapce zařídit? Ať dodržuje všechno, co jsem jí přikázal.“ 15 Manoach na to Hospodinovu andělu řekl: „Prosím, rádi bychom tě tu zdrželi a připravili kůzle.“ 16 Hospodinův anděl Manoachovi odpověděl: „I kdybys mě tu zdržel, nejedl bych tvé jídlo. Chceš-li ale připravit zápalnou oběť, obětuj ji Hospodinu.“ (Manoach totiž stále nevěděl, že je to Hospodinův anděl.) 17 Tehdy se Manoach Hospodinova anděla zeptal: „Jaké máš jméno? Rádi bychom tě poctili, až dojde na tvá slova.“ 18 Hospodinův anděl však opáčil: „Proč se mě ptáš na jméno? Je podivuhodné!“ 19 Manoach tedy vzal kůzle a moučnou oběť a obětoval to na skále Hospodinu. Tu se před zraky Manoacha a jeho ženy stala podivuhodná věc: 20 Když se z oltáře vznesl k nebi plamen, vznesl se v tom plameni i Hospodinův anděl, přímo před zraky Manoacha a jeho ženy. Ti ihned padli tváří k zemi. 21 Manoach ani jeho žena pak už Hospodinova anděla neviděli. Tehdy si Manoach uvědomil, že to byl Hospodinův anděl. 22 „Určitě zemřeme!“ řekl své ženě. „Vždyť jsme viděli Boha!“ 23 „Kdyby nás Hospodin chtěl zabít,“ odpověděla mu jeho žena, „nepřijal by od nás zápalnou a moučnou oběť. Neukázal by nám to všechno a neoznámil nám to, co teď.“ 24 Ta žena potom porodila syna a dala mu jméno Samson. Chlapec rostl a Hospodin mu žehnal. 25 V Machane-dan mezi Coreou a Eštaolem ho pak začal podněcovat Duch Hospodinův.

Deshalb gab sie der HERR vierzig Jahre lang in die Hand der Philister. 2 Es war ein Mann aus Zora, aus der Sippe der Daniter, namens Manoach; seine Frau war unfruchtbar und hatte nicht geboren. 3 Der Engel des HERRN erschien der Frau und sagte zu ihr: Siehe, du bist unfruchtbar und hast nicht geboren; aber du wirst schwanger werden und einen Sohn gebären. 4 Und jetzt nimm dich in Acht und trink weder Wein noch Bier und iss nichts Unreines! (Nu 6,2) 5 Denn siehe, du wirst schwanger werden und einen Sohn gebären. Es darf kein Schermesser an seinen Kopf kommen; denn der Knabe wird vom Mutterleib an ein Gott geweihter Nasiräer sein. Manoach und seine Frau sahen zu^[1] 20 und es geschah, als die Flamme vom Altar zum Himmel aufstieg, stieg der Engel des HERRN in der Flamme des Altars mit empor. Als Manoach und seine Frau das sahen, warfen sie sich zu Boden auf ihr Gesicht. 21 Von da an aber erschien der Engel des HERRN dem Manoach und seiner Frau nicht mehr. Da erkannte Manoach, dass es der Engel des HERRN gewesen war, 22 und sagte zu seiner Frau: Sicher müssen wir sterben, weil wir Gott gesehen haben. (Ex 33,20; Iz 6,5) 23 Doch seine Frau entgegnete ihm: Wenn der HERR uns hätte töten wollen, hätte er nicht aus unserer Hand Brand- und Speiseopfer angenommen und er hätte uns nicht all das sehen und uns auch jetzt nichts Derartiges hören lassen. 24 Die Frau gebar einen Sohn und nannte ihn Simson; der Knabe wuchs heran und der HERR segnete ihn. 25 Dann aber begann der Geist des HERRN, ihn umherzutreiben im Lager Dans zwischen Zora und Eschtaol. How shall we order the child, and how shall we do unto him? 13 And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Of all that I said unto the woman let her beware. 14 She may not eat of any thing that cometh of the vine, neither let her drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing : all that I commanded her let her observe. 15 And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, I pray thee, let us detain thee, until we shall have made ready a kid for thee. 16 And the angel of the LORD said unto Manoah, Though thou detain me, I will not eat of thy bread: and if thou wilt offer a burnt offering, thou must offer it unto the LORD. For Manoah knew not that he was an angel of the LORD. 17 And Manoah said unto the angel of the LORD, What is thy name, that when thy sayings come to pass we may do thee honour? 18 And the angel of the LORD said unto him, Why askest thou thus after my name, seeing it is secret? 19 So Manoah took a kid with a meat offering, and offered it upon a rock unto the LORD: and the angel did wondrously; and Manoah and his wife looked on. 20 For it came to pass, when the flame went up toward heaven from off the altar, that the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it , and fell on their faces to the ground. 21 But the angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah knew that he was an angel of the LORD. 22 And Manoah said unto his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God. 23 But his wife said unto him, If the LORD were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meat offering at our hands, neither would he have shewed us all these things , nor would as at this time have told us such things as these. 24 And the woman bare a son, and called his name Samson: and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him. 25 And the Spirit of the LORD began to move him at times in the camp of Dan between Zorah and Eshtaol.
