1Slovo to, kteréž se stalo k Jeremiášovi od Hospodina, když jej propustil Nebuzardan, hejtman nad žoldnéři, z Ráma, vzav jej, když byl svázaný řetězy u prostřed všech zajatých Jeruzalémských a Judských, zajatých do Babylona.2Tedy vzal hejtman nad žoldnéři Jeremiáše, a řekl jemu: Hospodin Bůh tvůj byl vyřkl zlé toto proti místu tomuto.3Protož je uvedl a učinil Hospodin, jakž mluvil; nebo jste hřešili proti Hospodinu, a neposlouchali jste hlasu jeho, pročež stala se vám věc tato.4Již tedy, aj, rozvazuji tě dnes z řetězů těch, kteříž jsou na rukou tvých. Vidí-liť se za dobré jíti se mnou do Babylona, poď, a budu tě pilně opatrovati; jestližeť se pak nevidí za dobré jíti se mnou do Babylona, nech tak. Aj, všecka tato země jest před tebou; kamžť se za dobré a slušné vidí jíti, tam jdi.5Pakli, (poněvadž se nenavracuje), obrať se k Godoliášovi synu Achikamovu, syna Safanova, kteréhož ustanovil král Babylonský nad městy Judskými, a zůstaň s ním u prostřed lidu, aneb kamžť se koli dobře líbí jíti, jdi. I dal jemu hejtman nad žoldnéři na cestu, a dar, a propustil jej.6Takž přišel Jeremiáš k Godoliášovi synu Achikamovu do Masfa, a bydlil s ním u prostřed lidu pozůstalého v zemi.7Uslyšeli pak všickni hejtmané vojsk, kteříž byli na poli, oni i všecken lid jejich, že ustanovil král Babylonský Godoliáše syna Achikamova nad tou zemí, a že jemu poručil muže a ženy i děti, a to z nejchaternějších té země, z těch kteříž nebyli zajati do Babylona.8Protož přišli k Godoliášovi do Masfa, totiž Izmael syn Netaniášův, též Jochanan a Jonatan, synové Kareachovi, a Saraiáš syn Tanchumetův, a synové Efai Netofatského, a Jazaniáš syn Machatův, oni i lid jejich.9Tedy přisáhl jim Godoliáš syn Achikamův, syna Safanova, i lidu jejich, řka: Nebojte se služby Kaldejských, zůstaňte v zemi, a služte králi Babylonskému, a dobře vám bude.10Nebo aj, já bydlím v Masfa, abych sloužil Kaldejským, kteříž přicházejí k nám, vy pak slízejte víno a letní ovoce i olej, a skládejte do nádob svých, a zůstaňte v městech svých, kteráž držíte.11Tak i všickni Judští, kteříž byli u Moábských a mezi Ammonitskými, a mezi Idumejskými, a kteříž byli ve všech zemích, uslyšavše, že by pozůstavil král Babylonský ostatek Judských, a že by ustanovil nad nimi Godoliáše syna Achikamova, syna Safanova,12Navrátili se všickni Judští ze všech míst, kamž rozehnaní byli, a přišli do země Judské k Godoliášovi do Masfa. I nazbírali vína a letního ovoce velmi mnoho.13Jochanan pak syn Kareachův, a všecka knížata vojsk, kteráž byla v poli, přišli k Godoliášovi do Masfa,14A řekli jemu: Víš-li co o tom, že Baalis král Ammonitský poslal Izmaele syna Netaniášova, aby tě zabil? Ale nevěřil jim Godoliáš syn Achikamův.15Nadto Jochanan syn Kareachův řekl Godoliášovi tajně v Masfa, řka: Nechť jdu medle, a zabiji Izmaele syna Netaniášova, však žádný nezví. Proč má zabiti tebe, a mají rozptýleni býti všickni Judští, kteříž shromážděni jsou k tobě, a zahynouti ostatek Judských?16Ale řekl Godoliáš syn Achikamův Jochananovi synu Kareachovu: Nečiň toho, nebo lež ty mluvíš o Izmaelovi.
PO PÁDU JERUZALÉMA - — Babylóňané propouštějí Jeremjáše - Prorokovi je nabídnuta svoboda pobytu i pohybu. Rozhodl se zůstat v zemi u Gedaljáše.
1 Slovo, které se stalo od Hospodina k Jeremjášovi poté, co ho Nebúzaradán, velitel tělesné stráže, propustil z Rámy; řetězy spoutaného jej vzal ze středu všech přesídlenců z Jeruzaléma a Judska, těch, kteří měli být přestěhováni do Babylónu.2 Velitel tělesné stráže vzal tedy Jeremjáše a řekl mu: „Hospodin, tvůj Bůh, mluvil proti tomuto místu o tomto zlu.3 A Hospodin je uvedl a učinil, jak mluvil, protože jste proti Hospodinu hřešili a neposlouchali jste ho. Proto se vám toto stalo.4 Nyní, hle, rozvážu ti dnes řetězy na rukou. Pokládáš-li za dobré jít se mnou do Babylónu, pojď, budu o tebe pečovat. Pokládáš-li za zlé jít se mnou do Babylónu, nemusíš chodit. Hleď, celá země je před tebou. Kam pokládáš za dobré a správné jít, tam jdi.5 Už se to nezvrátí. Obrať se ke Gedaljášovi, synu Achíkama, syna Šáfanova, kterého babylónský král ustanovil správcem judských měst. Přebývej s ním uprostřed lidu nebo jdi, kam pokládáš za správné jít.“ A velitel tělesné stráže mu dal jídlo na cestu a dar a propustil ho.6 Jeremjáš přišel ke Gedaljášovi, synu Achíkamovu, do Mispy a přebýval s ním uprostřed lidu, který byl ponechán v zemi.
— Gedaljáš ustanoven správcem Judska - Správcem Judska je ustanoven Gedaljáš. Jišmael osnuje proti němu spiknutí.
7 Když uslyšeli všichni velitelé vojsk, kteří byli se svým mužstvem v poli, že babylónský král ustanovil správcem země Gedaljáše, syna Achíkamova, a že mu svěřil muže, ženy a malé děti a z chudiny země ty, kteří nebyli přestěhováni do Babylónu,8 šli ke Gedaljášovi do Mispy. Byli to: Jišmael, syn Netanjášův, Jóchanan a Jónatan, synové Káreachovi, Serajáš, syn Tanchumetův, synové Efaje Netófského a Jezanjáš, syn Maakaťanův, každý se svým mužstvem.9 Gedaljáš, syn Achíkama, syna Šáfanova, je i jejich mužstvo přísežně ujistil: „Nebojte se sloužit Kaldejcům. Zůstaňte v zemi, služte babylónskému králi a povede se vám dobře.10 A já, hle, bydlím v Mispě a zastupuji vás před Kaldejci, kteří k nám přicházejí. Sklízejte víno, letní ovoce i olej, ukládejte do svých nádob a bydlete ve svých městech, která držíte.“11 I všichni Judejci, kteří byli v Moábsku a mezi Amónovci a v Edómsku a kteří byli ve všech zemích, uslyšeli, že babylónský král zanechal Judovi pozůstatek lidu a že nad nimi ustanovil Gedaljáše, syna Achíkama, syna Šáfanova.12 Vrátili se tedy všichni Judejci ze všech míst, kam byli zahnáni, přišli do země judské do Mispy ke Gedaljášovi a sklidili velice mnoho vína a letního ovoce. 13 Jóchanan, syn Káreachův, a všichni velitelé vojsk, kteří byli v poli, přišli ke Gedaljášovi do Mispy14 a řekli mu: „Zdalipak víš, že Baalis, král Amónovců, poslal Jišmaela, syna Netanjášova, aby tě zabil?“ Ale Gedaljáš, syn Achíkamův, jim nevěřil.15 Jóchanan, syn Káreachův, tajně navrhl Gedaljášovi v Mispě: „Když dovolíš, půjdu a zabiji Jišmaela, syna Netanjášova. Hle, máš před sebou celou zem; můžeš jít, kam uznáš za dobré a vhodné.5Chceš-li se ale vrátit,[1] vrať se ke Gedaliášovi, synu Achikama, syna Šafanova, kterého babylonský král jmenoval správcem judských měst. Bydli u něj mezi svým lidem. Anebo jdi, kamkoli uznáš za vhodné.“ Velitel gardistů mu pak dal jídlo na cestu a s čestným darem jej propustil.6Jeremiáš pak odešel ke Gedaliášovi, synu Achikamovu, do Micpy a bydlel tam u něj mezi lidem, který směl zůstat v zemi.7Když všichni polní velitelé se svými muži uslyšeli, že babylonský král jmenoval Gedaliáše, syna Achikamova, zemským správcem a že mu svěřil muže, ženy a děti ze zemské chudiny, která nebyla odvlečena do Babylonu,8přišli za Gedaliášem do Micpy – Išmael, syn Netaniášův, Jochanan a Jonatan, synové Kareachovi, Serajáš, syn Tanchumetův, synové Efaje Netofského a Jaazaniáš, syn Maachatského – ti všichni i se svými muži.9Gedaliáš, syn Achikama, syna Šafanova, je tehdy i s jejich muži zapřísahal: „Nebojte se poddat Babyloňanům. Zůstaňte v zemi, poddejte se babylonskému králi a povede se vám dobře.[2]10Hle, já zůstávám zde v Micpě, abych vás zastupoval před Babyloňany, kteří k nám přišli. Vy ale jděte sklízet víno, ovoce a olivy na olej, skladujte je ve džbánech a bydlete ve svých městech, která držíte.“11Také všichni judští utečenci v Moábu, Amonu, Edomu i ve všech ostatních zemích uslyšeli, že babylonský král nechal v zemi pozůstatek Židů a že jejich správcem jmenoval Gedaliáše, syna Achikama, syna Šafanova.12Všichni ti Židé se tedy vrátili ze všech míst, kam se rozprchli, a přišli za Gedaliášem do Micpy v judské zemi, kde sklidili spoustu vína a ovoce.
Išmaelovo povstání
13Jochanan, syn Kareachův, a také ostatní polní velitelé přišli za Gedaliášem do Micpy14a říkali mu: „Víš to, že amonský král Baalis poslal Išmaela, syna Netaniášova, aby tě zabil?“ Ale Gedaliáš, syn Achikamův, jim nevěřil.15Jochanan, syn Kareachův, Gedaliášovi v Micpě tajně navrhl: „Když dovolíš, půjdu Išmaela, syna Netaniášova, zabít. Nikdo se to nedozví. Proč by měl zabít on tebe? Všichni Židé, kteří se k tobě shromáždili, by se rozprchli a pozůstatek Judy by byl zničen.“16Gedaliáš, syn Achikamův, ale Jochananovi, synu Kareachovu, odpověděl: „Nedělej to! Co říkáš o Išmaelovi, je lež.“

Wenn es gut ist in deinen Augen, mit mir nach Babel zu kommen, so komm und ich will auf dich achten. Wenn es aber schlecht ist in deinen Augen, mit mir nach Babel zu kommen, so lass es! Sieh: Das ganze Land liegt vor dir; geh, wohin zu gehen in deinen Augen gut und recht ist!5Als er aber noch nicht zurückkehren wollte, sagte er weiter: Kehre zurück zu Gedalja, dem Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Schafans, den der König von Babel über die Städte Judas gesetzt hat! Bleib bei ihm mitten unter dem Volk oder geh, wohin zu gehen in deinen Augen recht ist! Der Befehlshaber der Leibwache gab ihm Reisevorrat sowie ein Geschenk und entließ ihn.6Jeremia ging zu Gedalja, dem Sohn Ahikams, nach Mizpa und blieb bei ihm mitten unter dem Volk, das im Land übrig geblieben war. Ihr aber, erntet Wein, Obst und Öl, sammelt es in euren Gefäßen und bleibt in den Ortschaften, die ihr in Besitz genommen habt!11Auch alle Judäer, die sich in Moab, bei den Ammonitern, in Edom oder in allen anderen Ländern aufhielten, hörten, dass der König von Babel Juda eine Restbevölkerung gelassen und über sie Gedalja, den Sohn Ahikams, des Sohnes Schafans, als Statthalter eingesetzt habe.12Und alle Judäer kehrten aus allen Orten, wohin sie versprengt waren, zurück und kamen ins Land Juda zu Gedalja nach Mizpa und sie ernteten Wein und Obst in großer Menge.13Auch Johanan, der Sohn Kareachs, und alle Truppenführer, die im Feld waren, kamen zu Gedalja nach Mizpa.14Sie fragten ihn: Weißt du schon, dass Baalis, der König der Ammoniter, Jischmael, den Sohn Netanjas, geschickt hat, um dich ermorden zu lassen? Aber Gedalja, der Sohn Ahikams, glaubte ihnen nicht.15Nun sagte Johanan, der Sohn Kareachs, heimlich zu Gedalja in Mizpa: Ich will hingehen und Jischmael, den Sohn Netanjas, erschlagen, ohne dass jemand davon erfährt. 1The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, after that Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all that were carried away captive of Jerusalem and Judah, which were carried away captive unto Babylon.2And the captain of the guard took Jeremiah, and said unto him, The LORD thy God hath pronounced this evil upon this place.3Now the LORD hath brought it , and done according as he hath said: because ye have sinned against the LORD, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing is come upon you.4And now, behold, I loose thee this day from the chains which were upon thine hand.
