1 Opět stalo se slovo Hospodinovo ke mně léta devátého, měsíce desátého, desátého dne téhož měsíce, řkoucí: 2 Synu člověčí, napiš sobě jméno tohoto dne, vlastně dnešního dne tohoto: nebo oblehl král Babylonský Jeruzalém právě tohoto dnešního dne. 3 A předlož tomu domu zpurnému podobenství, řka k nim: Takto praví Panovník Hospodin: Přistav tento hrnec, přistav a nalej také do něho vody. 4 A sebera kusy náležité do něho, každý kus dobrý, stehno i plece, a nejlepšími kostmi napln jej. 5 Přivezmi i nejlepších bravů, a udělej oheň z kostí pod ním, způsob, ať to vře, ažby kypělo, ať se i kosti jeho rozvaří v něm. 6 Protož takto praví Panovník Hospodin: Běda městu tomu vražedlnému, hrnci, v němž zůstává připálenina jeho, z něhož, pravím, připálenina jeho nevychází. Po kusích, po kusích vytahuj z něho, nepadneť na něj los. 7 Nebo krev jest u prostřed něho. Na vysedlou skálu vystavilo ji; nevylilo jí na zemi, aby ji prach přikryl. 8 I já zanítě prchlivost k vykonání pomsty, vystavím krev na vysedlou skálu, aby nebyla přikryta. 9 Protož takto praví Panovník Hospodin: Běda městu vražedlnému, i já udělám veliký oheň, 10 Přikládaje dříví, rozněcuje oheň, v nic obraceje maso, a kořeně kořením, tak že i kosti spáleny budou. 11 A postavím ten hrnec na uhlí jeho prázdný, aby se zhřela i rozpálila měď jeho, ažby se vyvařila u prostřed něho nečistota jeho, a vyprázdnila připálenina jeho. 12 Klamy svými bylo mi těžké, protož nevyjde z něho množství šumu jeho; do ohně musí šum jeho. 13 V tvé nečistotě jest nešlechetnost, proto že jsem tě očišťoval, však nejsi očištěno. Nebudeš více očišťováno od nečistoty své, až i doložím prchlivost svou na tebe. 14 Já Hospodin mluvil jsem, dojdeť, a učiním to; neustoupímť, aniž se slituji, ani želeti budu. Podlé cest tvých a činů tvých budou tě souditi, praví Panovník Hospodin. 15 Opět stalo se slovo Hospodinovo ke mně, řkoucí: 16 Synu člověčí, aj, já odejmu od tebe žádost očí tvých v náhle, však nekvěl ani plač, a nechť nevycházejí slzy tvé. 17 Stonati přestaň, smutku, jakž bývá nad mrtvým, nenes, klobouk svůj vstav na sebe, a střevíce své obuj na nohy své, a nezastírej brady své, aniž pokrmu čího jez. 18 Což když jsem pověděl lidu ráno, tedy umřela žena má u večer. I učinil jsem na ráno, jakž mi rozkázáno bylo. 19 I řekl ke mně lid: Což nám neoznámíš, co tyto věci nám znamenají, kteréž činíš? 20 Tedy řekl jsem jim: Slovo Hospodinovo stalo se ke mně, řkoucí: 21 Rci domu Izraelskému: Takto praví Panovník Hospodin: Aj, já poškvrním svatyně své, vyvýšenosti síly vaší, žádosti očí vašich a toho, čehož šanuje duše vaše. Též synové vaši i dcery vaše, kterýchž jste zanechali, mečem padnou. 22 I budete tak činiti, jakž já činím. Brady nezastřete, aniž čího pokrmu jísti budete. 23 A majíce klobouky své na hlavách svých a střevíce na nohách svých, nebudete kvíliti ani plakati, ale svadnouce pro nepravosti své, úpěti budete jeden s druhým. 24 Nebo jest vám Ezechiel zázrakem. Všecko, což on činí, budete činiti, a když to přijde, tedy zvíte, že já jsem Panovník Hospodin. 25 Ty pak synu člověčí, zdali v ten den, když já odejmu od nich sílu jejich, veselé okrasy jejich, žádost očí jejich, a to, po čemž touží duše jejich, syny jejich i dcery jejich, 26 Zdali v ten den přijde k tobě ten, kdož uteče, vypravuje tu novinu? 27 V ten den otevrou se ústa tvá při přítomnosti toho, kterýž ušel, i budeš mluviti, a nebudeš více němým. Takž jim budeš zázrakem, i zvědí, že já jsem Hospodin.

Nechám tu krev na holé skále a nebude přikryta.“ 9 Proto praví Panovník Hospodin toto: „Běda městu, v němž teče krev, teď já udělám velkou hranici. 10 Nalož hodně dříví, rozdmýchej oheň, dej maso vařit a úplně je rozvař, až se kosti připálí. 11 Prázdný hrnec postav na žhavé uhlí, aby se rozpálil a jeho měď se rozžhavila; ať se v něm roztaví jeho nečistota a jeho připálenina vezme za své. 12 Marná námaha! Množství jeho připáleniny z něho nesejde. Do ohně s jeho připáleninou! 13 Ve tvé nečistotě je mrzkost; pročišťoval jsem tě, ale neočistilo ses od své nečistoty. Nebudeš už čisté, dokud na tobě neuspokojím své rozhořčení. 14 Já, Hospodin, jsem promluvil; však to přijde, učiním to, nepolevím, nepocítím lítost a nebudu toho želet. Budu tě soudit podle tvé cesty a tvých skutků, je výrok Panovníka Hospodina.“

1 Desátého dne desátého měsíce devátého roku^[1] jsem dostal slovo Hospodinovo: 2 „Synu člověčí, tento den si zapiš, přesně tento den. Právě dnes babylonský král oblehl Jeruzalém. 3 Pověz té bandě vzbouřenců podobenství a řekni jim – Tak praví Panovník Hospodin! Postav hrnec na oheň, postav ho i s vodou v něm. 4 Nalož do něj kusy masa, pěkné kýty, krásná plecka. Naplň ho nejlepšími porcemi, 5 ber nejvybranější jehněčí. Naskládej pod něj polena a pak to prudce vař, ať to i s kostmi klokotá!^[2] 6 Nuže, tak praví Panovník Hospodin: Běda tomu městu vraždění! Běda hrnci plnému spáleniny, spáleniny, která nechce pustit! Nebudete truchlit

15 Dostal jsem slovo Hospodinovo: 16 „Synu člověčí, jedinou ranou tě zbavím potěchy tvých očí. Nesmíš však truchlit ani plakat, neukápne ti ani slza. 17 Jen tiché sténání – nekonej žádné smuteční obřady. Hlavu si pokrývej jako obvykle, na nohou si nech střevíce, neměj závoj přes obličej a smuteční chléb nejez.“ 18 Ráno jsem o tom říkal lidem – a večer mi zemřela žena. Druhý den jsem udělal, co mi bylo přikázáno. 19 Lidé mi říkali: „Co to děláš? Nepovíš nám, co to má pro nás znamenat?“ 20 Odpověděl jsem jim: „Dostal jsem slovo Hospodinovo: 21 Řekni domu Izraele: Tak praví Panovník Hospodin – Hle, znesvětím svoji svatyni, tu pevnost, jíž jste se chlubili, potěchu vašich očí a tužbu vašich duší. Až vaši synové a dcery, které jste po sobě nechali, padnou za oběť meči, 22 budete dělat to, co já: žádný závoj přes obličej, žádný smuteční chléb, 23 hlavy pokryté jako obvykle a na nohou střevíce. Žádné truchlení, žádný pláč. Budete jen skomírat ve svých vinách a mezi sebou naříkat. 24 Ezechiel se vám stane znamením. Přesně co dělá on, budete dělat i vy. Až to přijde, poznáte, že já jsem Panovník Hospodin. 25 Poslouchej, synu člověčí. V den, kdy je zbavím jejich pevnosti, jejich radosti a chlouby, potěchy jejich očí a tužby jejich duší, vezmu jim také syny a dcery. 26 V ten den za tebou přijde uprchlík, aby ti to oznámil. 27 V den, kdy se s ním setkáš, se ti otevřou ústa a budeš s ním moci hovořit. I will even make the pile for fire great. 10 Heap on wood, kindle the fire, consume the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned. 11 Then set it empty upon the coals thereof, that the brass of it may be hot, and may burn, and that the filthiness of it may be molten in it, that the scum of it may be consumed. 12 She hath wearied herself with lies, and her great scum went not forth out of her: her scum shall be in the fire. 13 In thy filthiness is lewdness: because I have purged thee, and thou wast not purged, thou shalt not be purged from thy filthiness any more, till I have caused my fury to rest upon thee. 14 I the LORD have spoken it : it shall come to pass, and I will do it ; I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord GOD. 15 Also the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 16 Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke: yet neither shalt thou mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down. 17 Forbear to cry, make no mourning for the dead, bind the tire of thine head upon thee, and put on thy shoes upon thy feet, and cover not thy lips, and eat not the bread of men. 18 So I spake unto the people in the morning: and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded. 19 And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, that thou doest so ? 20 Then I answered them, The word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 21 Speak unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the excellency of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pitieth; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left shall fall by the sword. 22 And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men. 23 And your tires shall be upon your heads, and your shoes upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall pine away for your iniquities, and mourn one toward another. 24 Thus Ezekiel is unto you a sign: according to all that he hath done shall ye do: and when this cometh, ye shall know that I am the Lord GOD. 25 Also, thou son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their minds, their sons and their daughters, 26 That he that escapeth in that day shall come unto thee, to cause thee to hear it with thine ears? 27 In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him which is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb: and thou shalt be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I am the LORD.
