1 I mluvil Hospodin k Mojžíšovi: Vejdi k Faraonovi a rci jemu: Takto praví Hospodin: Propusť lid můj, ať mi slouží. 2 Pakli nebudeš chtíti propustiti, aj, já raním všecky krajiny tvé žabami. 3 A vydá řeka množství žab, kteréž vystoupí a polezou do domu tvého a do pokoje, v němž líháš, a na ložce tvé, a do domů služebníků tvých i lidu tvého, a do pecí tvých a do těsta tvého. 4 I na tebe a na lid tvůj, i na všecky služebníky tvé polezou žáby. 5 I řekl Hospodin Mojžíšovi: Rci Aronovi: Vztáhni ruku svou s holí svou na řeky, na potoky a na jezera, a vyveď žáby na zemi Egyptskou. 6 I vztáhl Aron ruku svou na vody Egyptské; a vystoupily žáby a přikryly zemi Egyptskou. 7 A učinili tolikéž čarodějníci skrze své čáry; a udělali, že vyšly žáby na zemi Egyptskou. 8 Tedy Farao povolav Mojžíše a Arona, řekl: Modlte se Hospodinu, ať odejme žáby ode mne a od lidu mého; a propustím ten lid, aby obětovali Hospodinu. 9 I řekl Mojžíš Faraonovi: Poctím tě tím, a pověz, kdy bych se měl modliti za tě a za služebníky tvé, a za lid tvůj, aby vypléněny byly žáby od tebe, i z domů tvých; toliko v řece zůstanou. 10 Kterýžto odpověděl: Zítra. I volal Mojžíš k Hospodinu, aby odjaty byly žáby, kteréž byl dopustil na Faraona. 13 I učinil Hospodin podlé slova Mojžíšova; a vymřely žáby z domů, ze vsí i z polí. 14 I shrnuli je na hromady; a nasmradila se země. 15 Vida pak Farao, že by dáno bylo oddechnutí, více zatvrdil se v srdci svém, a neuposlechl jich, jakož byl mluvil Hospodin. 16 I řekl Hospodin Mojžíšovi: Rci k Aronovi: Vztáhni hůl svou, a udeř v prach země, aby obrátil se v stěnice na vší zemi Egyptské. 17 Kteříž učinili tak. Nebo vztáhl Aron ruku svou s holí svou, a udeřil prach země. I byly stěnice na lidech i hovadech; všecken prach země obrátil se v stěnice ve vší zemi Egyptské. 18 Dělali také tak čarodějníci skrze čáry své, aby vyvedli stěnice, ale nemohli. A byly stěnice na lidech i hovadech. 19 Tedy řekli čarodějníci Faraonovi: Prst Boží toto jest. A posililo se srdce Faraonovo, aniž poslechl jich, jakož mluvil Hospodin. 20 Řekl pak Hospodin Mojžíšovi: Vstaň ráno a stůj před Faraonem. Hle vyjde k vodě, a díš k němu: Takto praví Hospodin: Propusť lid můj, ať mi slouží. 21 Pakli nepropustíš lidu mého, hle, já pošli na tě a na služebníky tvé, a na lid tvůj, a na domy tvé směsici všelikých škodlivých žížal; a naplněni budou domové Egyptští těmi žížalami, nad to i země ta, na níž oni jsou. 22 A oddělím v ten den zemi Gesen, v níž lid můj zůstává, aby tam nebylo směsice té; abys věděl, že jsem já Hospodin u prostřed země. 23 A vysvobozením rozdíl učiním mezi lidem svým a lidem tvým. Zítra bude znamení toto. 24 I učinil Hospodin tak. Nebo přišla těžká směsice škodlivých žížal na dům Faraonův,a do domů služebníků jeho i na všecku zemi Egyptskou; a nakazila se země od té směsice. 25 Povolal pak Farao Mojžíše a Arona, a řekl: Jděte, obětujte Bohu svému tu v zemi. 26 I řekl Mojžíš: Nenáleží nám tak činiti; nebo ohavnost Egyptských obětovali bychom Hospodinu Bohu našemu. A jestliže bychom obětovali to, což jest ohavnost před očima Egyptských, zdaž by nás neukamenovali? 27 Cestou tří dnů půjdeme na poušť, a obětovati budeme Hospodinu Bohu našemu, jakž nám rozkázal. 28 I řekl Farao: Já propustím vás, abyste obětovali Hospodinu Bohu svému na poušti, však dále abyste nikoli neodcházeli. Modltež se za mne. 29 Odpověděl Mojžíš: Aj, já vycházím od tebe, a modliti se budu Hospodinu, aby odešla ta směsice od tebe, od služebníků tvých i od lidu tvého zítra; avšak ať Farao více nezklamává, nepropouštěje lidu, aby obětovali Hospodinu. 30 A vyšed Mojžíš od Faraona, modlil se Hospodinu. 31 I učinil Hospodin podlé slova Mojžíšova, a odjal tu směsici od Faraona, od služebníků jeho i od lidu jeho, tak že ani jedné žížaly nezůstalo. 32 Ale Farao ztížil srdce své také i tehdáž, a nepropustil lidu.

Zůstanou jen v Nilu.“ 8 Nato odešel Mojžíš s Áronem od faraóna a Mojžíš úpěnlivě volal k Hospodinu kvůli žábám, kterými faraóna postihl. 9 Hospodin učinil podle Mojžíšovy prosby a žáby v domech, ve dvorcích i na polích pošly. 10 Shrabali je na hromady a kupy a zápach z nich naplnil zemi. 11 Když však farao viděl, že nastala úleva, zůstal v srdci neoblomný a neposlechl je, jak Hospodin předpověděl.

12 Hospodin řekl Mojžíšovi: „Vyzvi Árona: ‚Vztáhni svou hůl a udeř do prachu na zemi!‘ Stanou se z něho po celé egyptské zemi komáři.“ 13 I učinili tak. Áron vztáhl ruku s holí a udeřil do prachu na zemi a na lidech i na dobytku se objevili komáři. A komáři byli na lidech i na dobytku. 15 Věštci tedy řekli faraónovi: „Je to prst Boží.“ Srdce faraónovo se však zatvrdilo a neposlechl je, jak Hospodin předpověděl.

16 Hospodin řekl Mojžíšovi: „Za časného jitra se postav před faraóna, až vyjde k vodě. Řekneš mu: Toto praví Hospodin: Propusť můj lid, aby mi sloužil! 17 Jestliže můj lid nepropustíš, pošlu na tebe, na tvé služebníky, na tvůj lid i na tvé domy mouchy. Domy Egypťanů budou plné much, i ta půda, na které žijí. 18 Ale zemi Gošen, kde se zdržuje můj lid, v onen den podivuhodně odliším. Tam mouchy nebudou, abys poznal, že já jsem Hospodin i uprostřed této země. 19 Učiním rozdíl mezi lidem svým a lidem tvým. Toto znamení se stane zítra.“ 20 A Hospodin tak učinil. Dotěrné mouchy vnikly do domu faraónova, do domu jeho služebníků a na celou egyptskou zemi. Země byla těmi mouchami zamořena. 21 Tu povolal farao Mojžíše a Árona a řekl: „Nuže, přineste oběť svému Bohu zde v zemi.“ 22 Mojžíš odpověděl: „Nebylo by správné, abychom to učinili. To, co máme obětovat Hospodinu, svému Bohu, je Egypťanům ohavností . Copak by nás neukamenovali, kdybychom před nimi obětovali, co je jim ohavností? 23 Odejdeme do pouště na vzdálenost tří dnů cesty a tam budeme obětovat Hospodinu, svému Bohu, jak nám nařídil.“ 24 Farao řekl: „Propustím vás tedy, abyste obětovali Hospodinu, svému Bohu, na poušti. Jenom neodcházejte příliš daleko. Proste za mne.“ 25 Mojžíš odvětil: „Až od tebe odejdu, budu prosit Hospodina a zítra odletí mouchy od faraóna, od jeho služebníků i od jeho lidu. Jen ať nás opět farao neobelstí, že by nechtěl propustit lid, aby obětoval Hospodinu.“ 26 Pak Mojžíš od faraóna odešel a prosil Hospodina. 27 A Hospodin učinil, jak Mojžíš řekl. Mouchy odletěly od faraóna, od jeho služebníků i od jeho lidu. Ani jediná nezůstala. 28 Ale farao zůstal v srdci neoblomný i tentokrát a lid nepropustil.

Zůstanou jen v Nilu.“ 8 Mojžíš s Áronem odešel od faraona a volal k Hospodinu ohledně těch žab, kterými faraona postihl. 9 Hospodin splnil Mojžíšovu prosbu a žáby v domech, dvorech i na polích pošly. 10 Shrabali je na spoustu hromad a zemi naplnil hrozný puch. 11 Když ale farao pocítil úlevu, znovu se zatvrdil. Jak Hospodin předpověděl, neposlechl je.

Komáři

12 Hospodin tedy Mojžíšovi řekl: „Řekni Áronovi: Napřáhni svou hůl a udeř do prachu, ať se po celé egyptské zemi promění v komáry!“ 13 A tak to učinili: Áron napřáhl hůl, udeřil s ní do prachu, a lidi i dobytek obsypali komáři. Veškerý prach v celé egyptské zemi se proměnil v komáry! 14 Také věštci se pokoušeli svými kouzly vyvést z prachu komáry, ale nemohli. Když byli lidé i dobytek pokryti komáry, 15 řekli ti věštci faraonovi: „To musí být boží prst!“ Farao však zůstal neoblomný. Jak Hospodin předpověděl, neposlechl je.

Mouchy

16 Hospodin tedy Mojžíšovi řekl: „Časně ráno vstaň, a až farao půjde k vodě, postav se před něj se slovy: ‚Takto praví Hospodin – Propusť můj lid, aby mi sloužili. 17 Pokud však můj lid nepropustíš, dávej pozor: Na tebe, na tvé dvořany, na tvůj lid i do tvých domů vypustím mračna much. Domy Egypťanů i zemi pod jejich nohama zaplní mouchy! 18 V ten den však odliším kraj Gošen, kde bydlí můj lid – tam žádné mouchy nebudou. Abys poznal, že já Hospodin jsem přítomen v této zemi, 19 učiním rozdíl^[1] mezi svým a tvým lidem. To znamení se stane zítra.‘“ 20 A Hospodin tak učinil: Ve faraonově paláci, v domě jeho dvořanů a v celé egyptské zemi se objevila hustá mračna much. Celá země byla zamořena mouchami. 21 Tehdy si farao nechal Mojžíše a Árona zavolat. „Jděte, obětujte svému Bohu,“ řekl jim, „ale zůstaňte v této zemi!“ 22 „To by nebylo vhodné,“ odpověděl Mojžíš. „Oběti Hospodinu, našemu Bohu, se Egypťanům hnusí. Copak by nás neukamenovali, kdybychom jim před očima obětovali, co mají za ohavnost? 23 Vydáme se na třídenní cestu do pouště a tam budeme obětovat Hospodinu, našemu Bohu, jak nám přikázal.“ 24 Farao tedy řekl: „Dobrá, propustím vás, abyste obětovali Hospodinu, vašemu Bohu, na poušti. Nechoďte ale příliš daleko. Modlete se za mě.“ 25 Mojžíš odpověděl: „Budu se modlit k Hospodinu hned, jak od tebe odejdu. To mračno much opustí faraona, jeho dvořany i jeho lid už zítra. Ať se nás ale farao nepokouší znovu obelstít a nepropustit lid, aby obětoval Hospodinu.“ 26 Nato Mojžíš odešel od faraona a modlil se k Hospodinu. 27 Hospodin splnil Mojžíšovu prosbu a zbavil faraona, jeho dvořany i jeho lid toho mračna much; nezůstala ani jediná. 28 I tentokrát se však farao zatvrdil a lid nepropustil.

Da stiegen die Frösche herauf und bedeckten das Land Ägypten. 3 Doch die Wahrsager taten mit Hilfe ihrer Zauberkunst das Gleiche und ließen die Frösche über das Land Ägypten kommen. 4 Der Pharao rief Mose und Aaron zu sich und sagte: Betet zum HERRN, er möge mich und mein Volk von den Fröschen befreien. Dann will ich das Volk ziehen lassen und sie können dem HERRN Schlachtopfer darbringen. 5 Da sagte Mose zum Pharao: Verfüg über mich! Wann soll ich für dich, deine Diener und dein Volk um Beseitigung der Frösche von dir und aus deinen Häusern beten? Nur im Nil sollen sie erhalten bleiben. 6 Er sagte: Morgen. Viertes Zeichen – Stechmücken

12 Darauf sprach der HERR zu Mose: Sag zu Aaron: Streck deinen Stab aus und schlag damit auf den Staub der Erde! Im ganzen Land Ägypten sollen daraus Stechmücken werden. 13 Sie taten es. Aaron streckte die Hand aus und schlug mit seinem Stab auf den Staub der Erde. Da wurden Stechmücken daraus, die sich auf Mensch und Vieh setzten. Aller Staub der Erde wurde zu Stechmücken im ganzen Land Ägypten. 14 Die Wahrsager versuchten mit Hilfe ihrer Zauberkunst ebenfalls Stechmücken hervorzubringen, konnten es aber nicht. Die Stechmücken saßen auf Mensch und Vieh. 15 Da sagten die Wahrsager zum Pharao: Das ist der Finger Gottes. Doch das Herz des Pharao blieb hart und er hörte nicht auf sie. So hatte es der HERR vorausgesagt.

Fünftes Zeichen – Ungeziefer

16 Darauf sprach der HERR zu Mose: Steh früh auf, tritt vor den Pharao, wenn er zum Wasser hinuntergeht, und sag zu ihm: So spricht der HERR: Lass mein Volk ziehen, damit sie mir dienen können! 17 Denn wenn du mein Volk nicht ziehen lässt, lasse ich Ungeziefer auf dich los, auf deine Diener, dein Volk und deine Häuser. Die Häuser in Ägypten werden voll Ungeziefer sein; es wird sogar den Boden, auf dem sie stehen, bedecken. 18 Das Land Goschen aber, in dem mein Volk lebt, will ich an jenem Tag auszeichnen: Dort wird es kein Ungeziefer geben. Daran wirst du erkennen, dass ich, der HERR, mitten im Land bin. 19 Ich mache einen Unterschied zwischen meinem und deinem Volk. Morgen wird das Zeichen geschehen. 20 Und so tat es der HERR. Ungeziefer kam in Massen über das Haus des Pharao, über das Haus seiner Diener und über das ganze Land Ägypten. Das Land erlitt durch das Ungeziefer schweren Schaden. 21 Da ließ der Pharao Mose und Aaron rufen und sagte: Geht, bringt eurem Gott hier im Land Schlachtopfer dar! 22 Doch Mose erwiderte: Das können wir nicht. Denn wir müssen dem HERRN, unserem Gott, Schlachtopfer darbringen, die bei den Ägyptern Anstoß erregen. Wenn wir vor ihren Augen Schlachtopfer darbringen, die bei ihnen Anstoß erregen, werden sie uns dann nicht steinigen? 23 Wir wollen drei Tagesmärsche weit in die Wüste ziehen und dem HERRN, unserem Gott, Schlachtopfer darbringen, wie er es uns gesagt hat. 24 Der Pharao antwortete: Ich lasse euch ziehen. Bringt also dem HERRN, eurem Gott, in der Wüste Schlachtopfer dar! Aber zu weit dürft ihr euch nicht entfernen. Betet auch für mich! 25 Darauf sagte Mose: Gut, ich gehe von dir fort und bete zum HERRN. Dann wird morgen das Ungeziefer vom Pharao, von seinen Dienern und seinem Volk ablassen. Nur darf der Pharao nicht wieder wortbrüchig werden und das Volk daran hindern, wegzuziehen und dem HERRN zu opfern. 26 Mose verließ den Pharao und betete zum HERRN. 27 Der HERR erfüllte Mose die Bitte und befreite den Pharao, seine Diener und sein Volk von dem Ungeziefer; nichts blieb übrig. 28 Der Pharao aber verschloss sein Herz auch diesmal und ließ das Volk nicht ziehen.

The Second Plague: Frogs

9 Moses said to Pharaoh, “Be pleased to command me when I am to plead for you and for your servants and for your people, that the frogs be cut off from you and your houses and be left only in the Nile.” (Ex 8,8) 10 And he said, “Tomorrow.” Moses said, “Be it as you say, so that you may know that there is no one like the Lord our God. 11 The frogs shall go away from you and your houses and your servants and your people. They shall be left only in the Nile.” 12 So Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh, and Moses cried to the Lord about the frogs, as he had agreed with Pharaoh.^[4] 13 And the Lord did according to the word of Moses. The Third Plague: Gnats

16 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the earth, so that it may become gnats in all the land of Egypt.’” (Ex 7,19) 17 And they did so. Aaron stretched out his hand with his staff and struck the dust of the earth, and there were gnats on man and beast. All the dust of the earth became gnats in all the land of Egypt. (Ž 105,31) 18 The magicians tried by their secret arts to produce gnats, but they could not. So there were gnats on man and beast. (Ex 7,11) 19 Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God.” But Pharaoh’s heart was hardened, and he would not listen to them, as the Lord had said. (Ex 31,18; Ž 8,3; L 11,20)

The Fourth Plague: Flies

20 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Rise up early in the morning and present yourself to Pharaoh, as he goes out to the water, and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord, “Let my people go, that they may serve me. (Ex 7,15; Ex 8,1; Ex 9,13) 21 Or else, if you will not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies on you and your servants and your people, and into your houses. And the houses of the Egyptians shall be filled with swarms of flies, and also the ground on which they stand. 22 But on that day I will set apart the land of Goshen, where my people dwell, so that no swarms of flies shall be there, that you may know that I am the Lord in the midst of the earth.^[5] (Ex 7,17; Ex 8,10; Ex 9,4; Ex 11,7; Mal 3,18)

23 Thus I will put a division^[6] between my people and your people. Tomorrow this sign shall happen.”’” 24 And the Lord did so. There came great swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh and into his servants’ houses. Throughout all the land of Egypt the land was ruined by the swarms of flies. (Ž 78,45; Ž 105,31; Iz 7,18) 25 Then Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God within the land.” 26 But Moses said, “It would not be right to do so, for the offerings we shall sacrifice to the Lord our God are an abomination to the Egyptians. If we sacrifice offerings abominable to the Egyptians before their eyes, will they not stone us? (Gn 43,32; Gn 46,34) 27 We must go three days’ journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the Lord our God as he tells us.” (Ex 3,12; Ex 3,18) 28 So Pharaoh said, “I will let you go to sacrifice to the Lord your God in the wilderness; only you must not go very far away. Plead for me.” (Ex 8,8) 29 Then Moses said, “Behold, I am going out from you and I will plead with the Lord that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow. Only let not Pharaoh cheat again by not letting the people go to sacrifice to the Lord.” (Ex 8,15; Jr 42,20) 30 So Moses went out from Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord. 31 And the Lord did as Moses asked, and removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people; not one remained. 32 But Pharaoh hardened his heart this time also, and did not let the people go. 1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Go unto Pharaoh, and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me. 2 And if thou refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all thy borders with frogs: 3 And the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into thine house, and into thy bedchamber, and upon thy bed, and into the house of thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thine ovens, and into thy kneadingtroughs: 4 And the frogs shall come up both on thee, and upon thy people, and upon all thy servants. 5 And the LORD spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch forth thine hand with thy rod over the streams, over the rivers, and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt. 6 And Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up, and covered the land of Egypt. 7 And the magicians did so with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt. 8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, Intreat the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me, and from my people; and I will let the people go, that they may do sacrifice unto the LORD. 9 And Moses said unto Pharaoh, Glory over me: when shall I intreat for thee, and for thy servants, and for thy people, to destroy the frogs from thee and thy houses, that they may remain in the river only? 10 And he said, To morrow. And he said, Be it according to thy word: that thou mayest know that there is none like unto the LORD our God. 11 And the frogs shall depart from thee, and from thy houses, and from thy servants, and from thy people; they shall remain in the river only. 12 And Moses and Aaron went out from Pharaoh: and Moses cried unto the LORD because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh. 13 And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died out of the houses, out of the villages, and out of the fields. 14 And they gathered them together upon heaps: and the land stank. 15 But when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart, and hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said. 16 And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt. 17 And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt. 18 And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast. 19 Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh' heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said. 20 And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me. 21 Else, if thou wilt not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon thee, and upon thy servants, and upon thy people, and into thy houses: and the houses of the Egyptians shall be full of swarms of flies , and also the ground whereon they are . 22 And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth. 23 And I will put a division between my people and thy people: to morrow shall this sign be. 24 And the LORD did so; and there came a grievous swarm of flies into the house of Pharaoh, and into his servants'houses, and into all the land of Egypt: the land was corrupted by reason of the swarm of flies . 25 And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land. 26 And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the LORD our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us? 27 We will go three days'journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as he shall command us. 28 And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me. 29 And Moses said, Behold, I go out from thee, and I will intreat the LORD that the swarms of flies may depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, to morrow: but let not Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more in not letting the people go to sacrifice to the LORD. 30 And Moses went out from Pharaoh, and intreated the LORD. 31 And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people; there remained not one. 32 And Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also, neither would he let the people go.
