1 Cantique pour la route vers la demeure de l’Eternel[1]. De David. Je suis dans la joie ╵lorsque l’on me dit: « Nous allons monter ╵à la demeure de l’Eternel. » (Ps 120:1) 2 Voici que nos pas s’arrêtent à tes portes, ╵ô Jérusalem! 3 O Jérusalem, ╵cité bien bâtie, formant un tout bien uni! 4 C’est là qu’affluent les tribus, ╵les tribus de l’Eternel – c’est la loi en Israël – pour y louer l’Eternel[2]. (Dt 16:16) 5 C’est là que sont établis les trônes[3] ╵pour ceux qui exercent la justice, les trônes pour les descendants de David. 6 Priez pour la paix ╵de Jérusalem: oui, que ceux qui t’aiment, ╵ô Jérusalem, ╵vivent en sécurité! 7 Que la paix soit dans tes murs et que la sécurité ╵règne en tes palais! 8 Pour mes frères, mes amis, je me plais à dire: ╵« La paix soit chez toi! » 9 Pour l’amour du temple ╵de l’Eternel notre Dieu, je souhaite ton bien.

1 I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD!” (Is 2:3; Mi 4:2; Za 8:21) 2 Our feet have been standing within your gates, O Jerusalem! 3 Jerusalem— built as a city that is bound firmly together, (Ne 4:6; Ps 147:2) 4 to which the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, as was decreed for[1] Israel, to give thanks to the name of the LORD. (Dt 16:16; Ps 78:5) 5 There thrones for judgment were set, the thrones of the house of David. (Dt 17:8; 2S 15:2; 1R 3:16; 1R 7:7; 2Ch 19:8) 6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you! (Ps 51:18; Jr 29:7) 7 Peace be within your walls and security within your towers!” (Ps 48:13) 8 For my brothers and companions’ sake I will say, “Peace be within you!” (1S 25:6; Ps 85:8) 9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good. (Ne 2:10; Est 10:3)
