2 Qu’ils le proclament, ╵tous ceux que l’Eternel a délivrés, qu’il a sauvés des mains de l’oppresseur, 3 et qu’il a rassemblés de tous pays: de l’est, de l’ouest, du nord et du midi^[2]. 4 Les uns erraient dans le désert ╵où il n’y a personne, sans trouver le chemin ╵d’une ville habitée. 5 Ils étaient affamés, ils avaient soif, et ils étaient tout près de défaillir. 6 Dans leur détresse, ╵ils crièrent à l’Eternel, et il les délivra de leurs angoisses. 7 Il les mena par un chemin tout droit et les dirigea vers une ville habitable. 8 Qu’ils louent donc l’Eternel ╵pour son amour, pour ses merveilles ╵en faveur des humains! 9 Il a désaltéré les assoiffés, il a comblé de biens les affamés. 10 D’autres se trouvaient dans des lieux, ╵où régnaient d’épaisses ténèbres ╵et l’obscurité la plus noire, enchaînés dans la misère et les fers 11 pour avoir bravé les commandements de Dieu et méprisé les desseins du Très-Haut. 12 Il les humilia ╵en les astreignant à un dur labeur: ils succombaient, privés de tout secours. 13 Dans leur détresse, ╵ils crièrent à l’Eternel, et il les délivra de leurs angoisses. 14 Il les fit sortir des lieux sombres ╵et ténébreux, il rompit les liens qui les retenaient. 15 Qu’ils louent donc l’Eternel pour son amour, pour ses merveilles ╵en faveur des humains! 16 Car il a brisé les portes de bronze et il a rompu les verrous de fer. 17 Des insensés, vivant dans le péché, s’étaient rendus malheureux par leurs fautes. 18 Tout aliment répugnait à leur bouche, ils approchaient des portes de la mort. 19 Dans leur détresse, ╵ils crièrent à l’Eternel, et il les délivra de leurs angoisses. 20 Il dit un mot et les guérit, et il les fit échapper à la tombe. 21 Qu’ils louent donc l’Eternel pour son amour, pour ses merveilles ╵en faveur des humains! 22 Et qu’ils lui offrent ╵des sacrifices de reconnaissance; qu’avec des cris de joie, ╵ils racontent ses œuvres. 23 D’autres s’étaient embarqués sur la mer, ╵dans des bateaux et ils vaquaient à leurs occupations ╵sur de profondes eaux. 24 Ceux-là ont vu les œuvres ╵de l’Eternel, et ses prodiges sur la haute mer. 25 A sa parole, ╵il fit lever un vent impétueux qui souleva les flots. 26 Tantôt ils étaient portés jusqu’au ciel, tantôt ils retombaient dans les abîmes, et ainsi mis à mal, ils défaillaient. 27 Pris de vertige, ils titubaient comme ivres, et tout leur savoir-faire ╵s’était évanoui. 28 Dans leur détresse, ╵ils crièrent à l’Eternel, et il les délivra de leurs angoisses. 29 Il calma la tempête, et fit taire les flots ╵qui s’étaient soulevés contre eux. 30 Ce calme fut pour eux cause de joie et Dieu les guida au port désiré. 31 Qu’ils louent donc l’Eternel pour son amour, pour ses merveilles ╵en faveur des humains! 32 Qu’ils disent sa grandeur ╵dans l’assemblée du peuple, et qu’ils le louent ╵au conseil des autorités^[3]. 33 Il peut faire tarir les fleuves ╵et les transformer en désert, ou changer les sources d’eau en lieux secs; 34 d’un sol fertile, il fait une saline^[4] quand ses habitants pratiquent le mal. 35 Mais il change aussi le désert en lac et la terre aride en sources d’eau vive, 36 et il y établit ╵ceux qui ont faim, pour qu’ils y fondent ╵une ville habitable, 37 qu’ils ensemencent des champs et plantent des vignes qui porteront des fruits en abondance. 38 Il les bénit en sorte qu’ils se multiplient, et il ne laisse pas ╵décroître leur bétail. 39 D’autres sont réduits à un petit nombre, ╵écrasés sous le poids de l’oppression, ╵du malheur et de la souffrance. 40 Dieu répand le mépris sur les puissants, les fait errer dans un désert sans route. 41 Mais il délivre le pauvre de la détresse et rend les familles fécondes ╵comme le petit bétail. 42 Les hommes droits le voient et ils s’en réjouissent, mais toute méchanceté a la bouche close. 43 Que celui qui est sage ╵prête attention à tout cela, et qu’il médite sur l’amour ╵de l’Eternel.

1 Preist den HERRN, denn er ist gut, denn seine Gnade ⟨währt⟩ ewig! (Ps 100:5) 2 So sollen sagen die Erlösten des HERRN, die er aus der Hand des Bedrängers^[1] erlöst hat. (Ps 106:10) 3 Die er gesammelt hat aus den Ländern, von Osten und von Westen, von Norden und von Süden^[2]. (Is 43:5) 4 Sie irrten in der Wüste, auf ödem Weg, sie fanden keinen bewohnten Ort. (Dt 32:10) 5 Hungrig waren sie und durstig, es verschmachtete in ihnen ihre Seele. (Ex 16:3; Ex 17:3; 2S 17:29) 6 Da schrien sie zum HERRN in ihrer Not: Aus ihren Bedrängnissen rettete er sie. (Ps 106:44; Os 5:15; Lc 8:24) 7 Er leitete sie auf rechtem Weg, sodass sie zu einem bewohnten Ort gelangten. 21 Sie sollen den HERRN preisen für seine Gnade, für seine Wunder an den Menschenkindern. 22 Sie sollen Dankopfer darbringen und mit Jubel seine Taten erzählen! (Lv 7:12; Ps 9:15; Ps 27:6) 23 Die sich mit Schiffen aufs Meer hinausbegaben, auf großen Wassern Handel trieben, (Ps 104:26) 24 das sind die, die die Taten des HERRN sahen und seine Wunder in der Tiefe. (Ps 104:24) 25 Er redete und bestellte einen Sturmwind, und der trieb seine Wellen hoch. (Jon 1:4; Mt 8:24; Jn 6:18) 26 Sie stiegen zum Himmel empor, sie sanken hinab in die Fluten, es verzagte in der Not ihre Seele. 27 Sie taumelten und schwankten wie ein Betrunkener, es versagte all ihre Weisheit. 28 Dann aber schrien sie zum HERRN in ihrer Not: Und er führte sie heraus aus ihren Bedrängnissen. 1 Give thanks to the LORD, because he is good. His faithful love continues for ever. 2 Let those who have been set free by the LORD tell their story. He set them free from the power of the enemy. 3 He brought them back from other lands. He brought them back from east and west, from north and south. 4 Some of them wandered in deserts that were dry and empty. They couldn’t find a city where they could make their homes. 5 They were hungry and thirsty. Their lives were slipping away. 6 Then they cried out to the LORD because of their problems. And he saved them from their troubles. 7 He led them straight to a city where they could make their homes. 8 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his faithful love. Let them give thanks for the wonderful things he does for people. 9 He gives those who are thirsty all the water they want. He gives those who are hungry all the good food they can eat. 10 Others lived in the deepest darkness. They suffered as prisoners in iron chains. 11 That’s because they hadn’t obeyed the commands of God. They had refused to follow the plans of the Most High God. 12 So he made them do work that was hard and bitter. They tripped and fell, and there was no one to help them. 13 Then they cried out to the LORD because of their problems. And he saved them from their troubles. 14 He brought them out of the deepest darkness. He broke their chains off. 15 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his faithful love. Let them give thanks for the wonderful things he does for people. 16 He breaks down gates that are made of bronze. He cuts through bars that are made of iron. 17 Others were foolish. They suffered because of their sins. They suffered because they wouldn’t obey the LORD. 18 They refused to eat anything. They came close to passing through the gates of death. 19 Then they cried out to the LORD because of their problems. And he saved them from their troubles. 20 He gave his command and healed them. He saved them from the grave. 21 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his faithful love. Let them give thanks for the wonderful things he does for people. 22 Let them sacrifice thank-offerings. Let them talk about what he has done as they sing with joy. 23 Some people sailed out on the ocean in ships. They traded goods on the mighty waters. 24 They saw the works of the LORD. They saw the wonderful deeds he did on the ocean. 25 He spoke and stirred up a storm. It lifted the waves high. 26 They rose up to the heavens. Then they went down deep into the ocean. In that kind of danger the people’s boldness melted away. 27 They were unsteady like people who have become drunk. They didn’t know what to do. 28 Then they cried out to the LORD because of their problems. And he brought them out of their troubles. 29 He made the storm as quiet as a whisper. The waves of the ocean calmed down. 30 The people were glad when the ocean became calm. Then he guided them to the harbour they were looking for. 31 Let them give thanks to the LORD for his faithful love. Let them give thanks for the wonderful things he does for people. 32 Let them honour him among his people who gather for worship. Let them praise him in the meeting of the elders. 33 He turned rivers into a desert. He turned flowing springs into thirsty ground. 34 He turned land that produced crops into a salty land where nothing could grow. He did it because the people who lived there were evil. 35 He turned the desert into pools of water. He turned the dry and cracked ground into flowing springs. 36 He brought hungry people there to live. They built a city where they could make their homes. 37 They planted fields and vineyards that produced large crops. 38 He blessed the people, and they greatly increased their numbers. He kept their herds from getting smaller. 39 Then the number of God’s people got smaller. They were made humble by trouble, suffering and sorrow. 40 The God who looks down on proud nobles made them wander in a desert where no one lives. 41 But he lifted needy people out of their suffering. He made their families increase like flocks of sheep. 42 Honest people see it and are filled with joy. But no one who is evil has anything to say. 43 Let those who are wise pay attention to these things. Let them think about the loving deeds of the LORD.
