Psalm 104

1 Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, you are very great! You are clothed with splendor and majesty, (2Sa 7:22; Job 37:22; Job 40:10; Ps 93:1; Ps 103:1; Ps 103:22)2 covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent. (Job 9:8; Isa 40:22)3 He lays the beams of his chambers on the waters; he makes the clouds his chariot; he rides on the wings of the wind; (2Sa 22:11; Ps 18:10; Ps 104:13; Isa 19:1; Am 9:6)4 he makes his messengers winds, his ministers a flaming fire. (2Ki 1:10; 2Ki 2:11; Ps 103:21; Ps 148:8; Heb 1:7)5 He set the earth on its foundations, so that it should never be moved. (Job 38:4; Ps 24:2; Ps 89:11; Ps 136:6)6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. (Ge 7:19)7 At your rebuke they fled; at the sound of your thunder they took to flight. (Ge 1:9; Ge 8:1; Ge 8:5; Ps 18:15; Ps 48:5; Ps 77:18; Ps 106:9; Mt 8:26)8 The mountains rose, the valleys sank down to the place that you appointed for them. (Job 38:8; Job 38:10)9 You set a boundary that they may not pass, so that they might not again cover the earth. (Ge 9:11; Job 26:10)10 You make springs gush forth in the valleys; they flow between the hills;11 they give drink to every beast of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst. (Ps 104:13)12 Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; they sing among the branches.13 From your lofty abode you water the mountains; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of your work. (Ge 18:5; Jud 9:9; Jud 9:13; Ps 23:5; Pr 31:6; Ec 10:19)16 The trees of the Lord are watered abundantly, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted. (Nu 24:6; Jud 9:15)17 In them the birds build their nests; the stork has her home in the fir trees.18 The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the rock badgers. (Le 11:5; Job 39:1; Pr 30:26)19 He made the moon to mark the seasons;[1] the sun knows its time for setting. (Ge 1:14; Le 23:4)20 You make darkness, and it is night, when all the beasts of the forest creep about. (Isa 45:7)21 The young lions roar for their prey, seeking their food from God. (Job 38:39)22 When the sun rises, they steal away and lie down in their dens. (Job 37:8)23 Man goes out to his work and to his labor until the evening. (Ge 3:19)24 O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures. (Pr 3:19)25 Here is the sea, great and wide, which teems with creatures innumerable, living things both small and great. (Ps 69:34)26 There go the ships, and Leviathan, which you formed to play in it.[2] (Job 40:20; Job 41:1)27 These all look to you, to give them their food in due season. (Job 36:31; Ps 104:14; Ps 145:15)28 When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are filled with good things. (Ps 145:16)29 When you hide your face, they are dismayed; when you take away their breath, they die and return to their dust. (De 31:17; Job 10:9; Job 23:15; Job 34:14; Ps 30:7)30 When you send forth your Spirit,[3] they are created, and you renew the face of the ground. (Job 33:4; Re 21:5)31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in his works, (Ge 1:31; Ps 72:17; Pr 8:31)32 who looks on the earth and it trembles, who touches the mountains and they smoke! (Ex 19:18; Ps 144:5; Am 9:5; Hab 3:10)33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being. (Ps 63:4)34 May my meditation be pleasing to him, for I rejoice in the Lord. (Job 15:4)35 Let sinners be consumed from the earth, and let the wicked be no more! Bless the Lord, O my soul!
