20 This we will do to them: let them live, lest wrath be upon us, because of the oath that we swore to them.” (Nu 1:53; 2Sa 21:2) 

New International Version

20 This is what we will do to them: we will let them live, so that God’s wrath will not fall on us for breaking the oath we swore to them.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

20 But here is what we’ll do to them. We’ll let them live. Then the LORD won’t be angry with us because we didn’t keep our promise.’
