Exodus 9:16

English Standard Version

16 But for this purpose I have raised you up, to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed in all the earth. (Ex 10:1; Ex 11:9; Ex 14:17; Ps 83:18; Pr 16:4; Isa 63:12; Ro 9:17)

16 But I have raised you up[1] for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.

16 But I had a special reason for making you king. I decided to show you my power. I wanted my name to become known everywhere on earth.

16 And in very deed for this cause have I raised thee up, for to shew in thee my power; and that my name may be declared throughout all the earth.
