Esther 2:21

21 In those days, as Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate, Bigthan and Teresh, two of the king’s eunuchs, who guarded the threshold, became angry and sought to lay hands on King Ahasuerus. (Es 1:10; Es 6:2)

New International Version

21 During the time Mordecai was sitting at the king’s gate, Bigthana[1] and Teresh, two of the king’s officers who guarded the doorway, became angry and conspired to assassinate King Xerxes.

New International Reader’s Version

21 Bigthana and Teresh were two of the king’s officers. They guarded the door of the royal palace. They became angry with King Xerxes. So they decided to kill him. They made their evil plans while Mordecai was sitting at the palace gate.

21 In those days, while Mordecai sat in the king' gate, two of the king' chamberlains, Bigthan and Teresh, of those which kept the door, were wroth, and sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus.
