23 For as I passed along and observed the objects of your worship, I found also an altar with this inscription: ‘To the unknown god.’ What therefore you worship as unknown, this I proclaim to you. (Joh 4:22; Ac 17:30; 1Co 15:34) 

New International Version

23 For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: To an unknown god. So you are ignorant of the very thing you worship – and this is what I am going to proclaim to you. 

New International Reader’s Version

23 As I walked around, I looked carefully at the things you worship. I even found an altar with To an unknown god written on it. So you don’t know what you are worshipping. Now I am going to tell you about this “unknown god.” 

King James Version

23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.
