1 Ein Lied für den Aufstieg zum Tempel. Ich blicke hinauf zu den Bergen: / Woher kommt Hilfe für mich?

2 Meine Hilfe kommt von Jahwe, / dem Schöpfer von Himmel und Erde.

3 Er wird nicht zulassen, dass du fällst. / Er gibt immer auf dich Acht.

4 Nein, der Beschützer Israels / schläft und schlummert nicht.

5 Jahwe behütet dich. / Er ist der Schatten über dir,

6 damit dir am Tag die Sonne nicht schadet / und der Mond nicht in der Nacht

7 Jahwe behütet dich vor allem Bösen, / er bewahrt auch dein Leben.

8 Jahwe behütet dich wenn du fortgehst und wenn du wiederkommst, / von jetzt an bis in Ewigkeit.

My Help Comes from the Lord

1 A Song of Ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?

2 My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

3 He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.

4 Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is your keeper; the Lord is your shade on your right hand.

6 The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.

8 The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
