Land allotted to Simeon

1 The second lot came out for the tribe of Simeon according to its clans. Their inheritance lay within the territory of Judah. 2 It included: Beersheba (or Sheba),* Moladah, 3 Hazar Shual, Balah, Ezem, 4 Eltolad, Bethul, Hormah, 5 Ziklag, Beth Markaboth, Hazar Susah, 6 Beth Lebaoth and Sharuhen – thirteen towns and their villages; 7 Ain, Rimmon, Ether and Ashan – four towns and their villages – 8 and all the villages around these towns as far as Baalath Beer (Ramah in the Negev). This was the inheritance of the tribe of the Simeonites, according to its clans. 9 The inheritance of the Simeonites was taken from the share of Judah, because Judah’s portion was more than they needed. So the Simeonites received their inheritance within the territory of Judah.

Land allotted to Zebulun

10 The third lot came up for Zebulun according to its clans: The boundary of their inheritance went as far as Sarid. 11 Going west it ran to Maralah, touched Dabbesheth, and extended to the ravine near Jokneam. 12 It turned east from Sarid towards the sunrise to the territory of Kisloth Tabor and went on to Daberath and up to Japhia. 13 Then it continued eastward to Gath Hepher and Eth Kazin; it came out at Rimmon and turned towards Neah. 14 There the boundary went round on the north to Hannathon and ended at the Valley of Iphtah El. 15 Included were Kattath, Nahalal, Shimron, Idalah and Bethlehem. There were twelve towns and their villages. 16 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of Zebulun, according to its clans.

Land allotted to Issachar

17 The fourth lot came out for Issachar according to its clans. 18 Their territory included: Jezreel, Kesulloth, Shunem, 19 Hapharaim, Shion, Anaharath, 20 Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez, 21 Remeth, En Gannim, En Haddah and Beth Pazzez. 22 The boundary touched Tabor, Shahazumah and Beth Shemesh, and ended at the Jordan. There were sixteen towns and their villages. 23 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Issachar, according to its clans.

Land allotted to Asher

24 The fifth lot came out for the tribe of Asher according to its clans. 25 Their territory included: Helkath, Hali, Beten, Akshaph, 26 Allammelek, Amad and Mishal. On the west the boundary touched Carmel and Shihor Libnath. 27 It then turned east towards Beth Dagon, touched Zebulun and the Valley of Iphtah El, and went north to Beth Emek and Neiel, passing Kabul on the left. 28 It went to Abdon,* Rehob, Hammon and Kanah, as far as Greater Sidon. 29 The boundary then turned back towards Ramah and went to the fortified city of Tyre, turned towards Hosah and came out at the Mediterranean Sea in the region of Akzib, 30 Ummah, Aphek and Rehob. There were twenty-two towns and their villages. 31 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Asher, according to its clans.

Land allotted to Naphtali

32 The sixth lot came out for Naphtali according to its clans: 33 Their boundary went from Heleph and the large tree in Zaanannim, passing Adami Nekeb and Jabneel to Lakkum and ending at the Jordan. 34 The boundary ran west through Aznoth Tabor and came out at Hukkok. It touched Zebulun on the south, Asher on the west and the Jordan* on the east. 35 The fortified cities were Ziddim, Zer, Hammath, Rakkath, Kinnereth, 36 Adamah, Ramah, Hazor, 37 Kedesh, Edrei, En Hazor, 38 Iron, Migdal El, Horem, Beth Anath and Beth Shemesh. There were nineteen towns and their villages. 39 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Naphtali, according to its clans.

Land allotted to Dan

40 The seventh lot came out for the tribe of Dan according to its clans. 41 The territory of their inheritance included: Zorah, Eshtaol, Ir Shemesh, 42 Shaalabbin, Aijalon, Ithlah, 43 Elon, Timnah, Ekron, 44 Eltekeh, Gibbethon, Baalath, 45 Jehud, Bene Berak, Gath Rimmon, 46 Me Jarkon and Rakkon, with the area facing Joppa. 47 (When the territory of the Danites was lost to them, they went up and attacked Leshem, took it, put it to the sword and occupied it. They settled in Leshem and named it Dan after their ancestor.) 48 These towns and their villages were the inheritance of the tribe of Dan, according to its clans.

Land allotted to Joshua

49 When they had finished dividing the land into its allotted portions, the Israelites gave Joshua son of Nun an inheritance among them, 50 as the Lord had commanded. They gave him the town he asked for – Timnath Serah* in the hill country of Ephraim. And he built up the town and settled there. 51 These are the territories that Eleazar the priest, Joshua son of Nun and the heads of the tribal clans of Israel assigned by lot at Shiloh in the presence of the Lord at the entrance to the tent of meeting. And so they finished dividing the land.

Das Gebiet des Stammes Simeon

1 Das zweite Los fiel auf den Stamm Simeon mit seinen Sippen. Sein Erbbesitz lag innerhalb der Grenzen des Stammes Juda 2 und umfasste folgende Städte: Beerscheba, Schema,* Molada, 3 Hazar-Schual, Baala, Ezem, 4 Eltolad, Betul, Horma, 5 Ziklag, Bet-Markabot, Hazar-Susim, 6 Bet-Lebaot und Scharuhen – das sind dreizehn* Städte mit den umliegenden Dörfern; 7 außerdem En-Rimmon, Eter und Aschan – das sind vier* Städte mit den umliegenden Dörfern. 8 Das Gebiet reichte im Süden bis nach Baalat-Beer und Ramat-Negeb. Dies ist der Teil, der den Sippen des Stammes Simeon als Erbbesitz zufiel. 9 Sie bekamen als ihr Gebiet ein Stück von Juda, weil der Stamm Juda mehr Land bekommen hatte, als er brauchte.

Das Gebiet des Stammes Sebulon

10 Das dritte Los fiel auf den Stamm Sebulon mit seinen Sippen. Sein Gebiet reicht im Südosten bis nach Sarid; 11 von dort verläuft die Grenze nach Westen über Marala und Dabbeschet bis zu dem Tal westlich von Jokneam. 12 Die Ostgrenze führt von Sarid aus nordwärts am Gebiet von Kislot-am-Tabor vorbei nach Daberat und hinauf nach Jafia, 13 dann weiter nach Gat-Hefer und Et-Kazin und über Rimmon bis nach Nea; 14 von dort verläuft die Nordgrenze westwärts über Hannaton zum Tal von Jiftach-El. 15 Zum Gebiet von Sebulon gehören noch die Städte Kattat,* Nahalal, Schimron, Jidala und Betlehem – insgesamt zwölf Städte mit den umliegenden Dörfern. 16 Diese Städte mit ihren Dörfern bilden das Gebiet, das den Sippen des Stammes Sebulon als Erbbesitz zufiel.

Das Gebiet des Stammes Issachar

17 Das vierte Los fiel auf den Stamm Issachar mit seinen Sippen. 18 Sein Gebiet umfasst die Städte Jesreel, Kesullot, Schunem, 19 Hafarajim, Schion, Anahara, 20 Daberat,* Kischjon, Ebez, 21 Remet, En-Gannim, En-Hadda und Bet-Pazzez. 22 Im Norden verläuft die Grenze vom Berg Tabor über Schahazajim und Bet-Schemesch bis zum Jordan. Dieses Gebiet mit insgesamt sechzehn Städten und den dazugehörigen Dörfern fiel den Sippen des Stammes Issachar als Erbbesitz zu.

Das Gebiet des Stammes Ascher

24 Das fünfte Los fiel auf den Stamm Ascher mit seinen Sippen. 25 Die Südgrenze seines Gebietes führt von Helkat westwärts über Hali, Beten, Achschaf, 26 Alammelech, Amad und Mischal bis zum Karmelgebirge und zum Fluss Libnat; 27 die Ostgrenze führt von Helkat aus nördlich nach Bet-Dagon, berührt die Grenze des Stammes Sebulon und das Tal Jiftach-El und verläuft weiter über Bet-Emek und Negiël bis nach Kabul und über Mischal,* 28 Abdon,* Rehob, Hammon und Kana bis zum Gebiet der großen Stadt Sidon. 29 Dann biegt die Grenze um nach Rama, erreicht die befestigte Stadt Tyrus, geht weiter nach Hosa und endet am Mittelmeer. Zum Gebiet von Ascher gehören auch Mahaleb,* Achsib, 30 Akko,* Afek und Rehob – insgesamt zweiundzwanzig Städte mit den umliegenden Dörfern. 31 Dieses ganze Gebiet, Städte und Dörfer, fiel den Sippen des Stammes Ascher als Erbbesitz zu.

Das Gebiet des Stammes Naftali

32 Das sechste Los fiel auf den Stamm Naftali mit seinen Sippen. 33 Die Südgrenze seines Gebietes führt von Helef ostwärts nach Elon-Zaanannim und weiter über Adami-Nekeb und Jabneel nach Lakkum und endet am Jordan; 34 westwärts führt sie über Asnot-am-Tabor nach Hukkok. Das Gebiet von Naftali stößt im Süden an das Stammesgebiet Sebulon, im Westen an das Stammesgebiet Ascher und im Osten an den Jordan.* 35 Die befestigten Städte in diesem Gebiet waren Ziddim, Zer, Hammat, Rakkat, Kinneret, 36 Adama, Rama, Hazor, 37 Kedesch, Edreï, En-Hazor, 38 Jiron, Migdal-El, Horem, Bet-Anat und Bet-Schemesch – insgesamt neunzehn* Städte mit den umliegenden Dörfern. 39 Dieses ganze Gebiet, Städte und Dörfer, fiel den Sippen des Stammes Naftali als Erbbesitz zu.

Das Gebiet des Stammes Dan

40 Das siebte Los fiel auf den Stamm Dan mit seinen Sippen. 41 Sein Gebiet umfasst die Städte Zora, Eschtaol, Ir-Schemesch, 42 Schaalbim, Ajalon, Jitla, 43 Elon, Timna, Ekron, 44 Elteke, Gibbeton, Baalat, 45 Jehud, Bene-Berak und Gat-Rimmon 46 sowie das Gebiet um Jafo bis zum Jarkonfluss.* 47 Alle diese Städte mit ihren Dörfern fielen dem Stamm Dan als Erbbesitz zu. Die Leute des Stammes Dan konnten sich jedoch in diesem Gebiet nicht halten und zogen deshalb nach Norden vor die Stadt Lajisch. Sie eroberten sie, erschlugen die Bewohner mit dem Schwert und siedelten sich dort an. Nach dem Namen ihres Stammvaters nannten sie die Stadt Dan.

Abschluss der Landverteilung und Anteil Josuas

49 So wurde die Verteilung des Landes vollendet; jeder Stamm erhielt seinen Erbbesitz. Die Stämme Israels gaben auch Josua einen eigenen Besitz im Land. 50 Er hatte sich die Stadt Timnat-Serach im Bergland Efraïm erbeten und der HERR sprach ihm die Stadt und das umliegende Gebiet zu. Josua baute die Stadt wieder auf und ließ sich dort nieder. 51 Der Priester Eleasar, Josua, der Sohn Nuns, und die Sippenoberhäupter der einzelnen Stämme hatten all die genannten Gebiete unter die Israeliten verteilt. Die Zuteilung erfolgte durch das Los in Gegenwart des HERRN, am Eingang des Heiligen Zeltes in Schilo. Nun hatten sie die Verteilung des Landes abgeschlossen.
