Psalm 87 | Het Boek
1 Een psalm van de Korachieten. Een lied. Jeruzalem ligt op de heilige bergen. 2 De HERE houdt van haar poorten, meer dan van alle andere steden in het land Israël. 3 Stad van God! Er zijn geweldige dingen over u te vertellen. 4 Wanneer Ik de namen noem van Egypte, Babel, Filistea, Tyrus of zelfs van Ethiopië, is er altijd wel iemand die daar geboren is. 5 Maar van Jeruzalem zal worden gezegd dat er velen geboren zijn. God, de Allerhoogste, zal Zelf deze stad zegenen. 6 Wanneer de HERE de volken registreert, schrijft Hij erbij: ‘Dit volk is hier geboren.’ 7 Tijdens hun feesten en onder het dansen zingen zij: ‘Mijn hart ligt in Jeruzalem.’

Glorious Things of You Are Spoken

1 A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. A Song. On the holy mount stands the city he founded; 2 the Lord loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwelling places of Jacob. 3 Glorious things of you are spoken, O city of God. 4 Among those who know me I mention Rahab and Babylon; behold, Philistia and Tyre, with Cush*— “This one was born there,” they say. 5 And of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in her”; for the Most High himself will establish her. 6 The Lord records as he registers the peoples, “This one was born there.” 7 Singers and dancers alike say, “All my springs are in you.”
