Psalm 123 | Het Boek
1 Een bedevaartslied. Ik kijk omhoog naar mijn God, die in de hemel woont. 2 Zoals knechten wachten op het bevel van hun meester en een dienstmeisje wacht op het teken van haar meesteres, richten wij onze ogen op de HERE, onze God, en verwachten van Hem genade. 3 Geeft U ons genade, HERE, en helpt U ons. Want wij hebben al te veel minachting ontmoet. 4 Wij werden overladen met spot van ongelovigen en trotse mensen hebben ons met minachting behandeld. Meer kunnen wij niet verdragen.

Our Eyes Look to the Lord Our God

1 A Song of Ascents. To you I lift up my eyes, O you who are enthroned in the heavens! 2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, as the eyes of a maidservant to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he has mercy upon us. 3 Have mercy upon us, O Lord, have mercy upon us, for we have had more than enough of contempt. 4 Our soul has had more than enough of the scorn of those who are at ease, of the contempt of the proud.
