How long will you love vain words and seek after lies?3But know that the Lord has set apart the godly for himself; the Lord hears when I call to him.4Be angry,* and do not sin; ponder in your own hearts on your beds, and be silent.5Offer right sacrifices, and put your trust in the Lord.6There are many who say, “Who will show us some good? Lift up the light of your face upon us, O Lord!”7You have put more joy in my heart than they have when their grain and wine abound.8In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.

Aie pitié de moi, écoute ma prière!3Vous les hommes, jusqu'à quand mépriserez-vous ma gloire? Jusqu'à quand aimerez-vous ce qui est sans valeur et rechercherez-vous le mensonge? – Pause.4Sachez que l'Eternel s'est choisi un homme fidèle. L'Eternel entend quand je crie à lui.5Si vous vous mettez en colère, ne péchez pas!* Parlez dans votre cœur, sur votre lit, et faites silence. – Pause.6Offrez des sacrifices conformes à la justice et confiez-vous en l'Eternel.7Beaucoup disent: «Qui nous fera voir le bonheur?» Fais briller la lumière de ton visage sur nous, Eternel!8Tu mets dans mon cœur plus de joie qu'ils n'en éprouvent quand abondent leur blé, leur vin [et leur huile].9Je me couche et aussitôt je m'endors en paix, car c'est toi seul, Eternel, qui me donnes la sécurité dans ma demeure.
