1And the word of the Lord of hosts came, saying,2“Thus says the Lord of hosts: I am jealous for Zion with great jealousy, and I am jealous for her with great wrath.3Thus says the Lord: I have returned to Zion and will dwell in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem shall be called the faithful city, and the mountain of the Lord of hosts, the holy mountain.4Thus says the Lord of hosts: Old men and old women shall again sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with staff in hand because of great age.5And the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in its streets.6Thus says the Lord of hosts: If it is marvelous in the sight of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my sight, declares the Lord of hosts?7Thus says the Lord of hosts: Behold, I will save my people from the east country and from the west country,8and I will bring them to dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. And they shall be my people, and I will be their God, in faithfulness and in righteousness.”9Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Let your hands be strong, you who in these days have been hearing these words from the mouth of the prophets who were present on the day that the foundation of the house of the Lord of hosts was laid, that the temple might be built.10For before those days there was no wage for man or any wage for beast, neither was there any safety from the foe for him who went out or came in, for I set every man against his neighbor.11But now I will not deal with the remnant of this people as in the former days, declares the Lord of hosts.12For there shall be a sowing of peace. The vine shall give its fruit, and the ground shall give its produce, and the heavens shall give their dew. And I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.13And as you have been a byword of cursing among the nations, O house of Judah and house of Israel, so will I save you, and you shall be a blessing. Fear not, but let your hands be strong.”14For thus says the Lord of hosts: “As I purposed to bring disaster to you when your fathers provoked me to wrath, and I did not relent, says the Lord of hosts,15so again have I purposed in these days to bring good to Jerusalem and to the house of Judah; fear not.16These are the things that you shall do: Speak the truth to one another; render in your gates judgments that are true and make for peace;17do not devise evil in your hearts against one another, and love no false oath, for all these things I hate, declares the Lord.”18And the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying,19“Thus says the Lord of hosts: The fast of the fourth month and the fast of the fifth and the fast of the seventh and the fast of the tenth shall be to the house of Judah seasons of joy and gladness and cheerful feasts. Therefore love truth and peace.20“Thus says the Lord of hosts: Peoples shall yet come, even the inhabitants of many cities.21The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, ‘Let us go at once to entreat the favor of the Lord and to seek the Lord of hosts; I myself am going.’22Many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem and to entreat the favor of the Lord.23Thus says the Lord of hosts: In those days ten men from the nations of every tongue shall take hold of the robe of a Jew, saying, ‘Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’”

Das künftige Heil für das Volk Gottes
1Und es geschah das Wort des HERRN Zebaoth:2So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Ich eiferte um Zion mit großem Eifer, und mit großem Zorn eiferte ich um seinetwillen.3So spricht der HERR: Ich kehre wieder auf den Zion zurück und will zu Jerusalem wohnen, dass Jerusalem »Stadt der Treue« heißen soll und der Berg des HERRN Zebaoth »heiliger Berg«.4So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Es sollen hinfort wieder sitzen auf den Plätzen Jerusalems alte Männer und Frauen, jeder mit seinem Stock in der Hand vor hohem Alter,5und die Plätze der Stadt sollen voll sein von Knaben und Mädchen, die dort spielen.6So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Selbst wenn das dem Rest dieses Volkes in dieser Zeit unmöglich scheint, sollte es darum auch mir unmöglich scheinen?, spricht der HERR Zebaoth.7So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Siehe, ich will mein Volk retten aus dem Lande gegen Aufgang und aus dem Lande gegen Niedergang der Sonne8und will sie heimbringen, dass sie in Jerusalem wohnen. Und sie sollen mein Volk sein, und ich will ihr Gott sein in Treue und Gerechtigkeit.9So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Stärkt eure Hände, die ihr diese Worte hört in dieser Zeit durch der Propheten Mund – an dem Tage, da der Grund gelegt wurde zum Hause des HERRN Zebaoth, auf dass der Tempel gebaut würde.10Denn vor diesen Tagen war der Menschen Arbeit vergebens, und auch der Tiere Arbeit erbrachte nichts; und für den, der aus- und einzog, gab es keinen Frieden vor dem Feind, und ich ließ alle Menschen aufeinander los, einen jeden gegen seinen Nächsten.11Aber nun will ich nicht wie in den vorigen Tagen verfahren mit dem Rest dieses Volkes, spricht der HERR Zebaoth,12denn das wird eine Saat des Friedens sein: Der Weinstock soll seine Frucht geben und das Land sein Gewächs, und der Himmel soll seinen Tau geben. Und ich will dem Rest dieses Volkes das alles zum Besitz geben.13Und es soll geschehen: Wie ihr vom Hause Juda und vom Hause Israel ein Fluch gewesen seid unter den Völkern, so will ich euch retten, dass ihr ein Segen sein sollt. Fürchtet euch nur nicht und stärkt eure Hände!14So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Gleichwie ich euch zu plagen gedachte, als mich eure Väter erzürnten, spricht der HERR Zebaoth, und es mich nicht gereute,15so gedenke ich nun wiederum in diesen Tagen, wohlzutun Jerusalem und dem Hause Juda. Fürchtet euch nur nicht!16Das ist’s aber, was ihr tun sollt: Rede einer mit dem andern Wahrheit und richtet wahrhaftig und recht, schafft Frieden in euren Toren;17keiner ersinne Arges in seinem Herzen gegen seinen Nächsten, und liebt nicht falsche Eide; denn das alles hasse ich, spricht der HERR.18Und es geschah des HERRN Zebaoth Wort zu mir:19So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Das Fasten des vierten, fünften, siebenten und zehnten Monats soll dem Hause Juda zur Freude und Wonne und zu fröhlichen Festzeiten werden. Liebt Wahrheit und Frieden!
Das künftige Heil für die Völker
20So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Es werden noch Völker kommen und Bürger vieler Städte,21und die Bürger der einen Stadt werden zur andern gehen und sagen: Lasst uns gehen, den HERRN anzuflehen und zu suchen den HERRN Zebaoth; wir wollen mit euch gehen.22So werden viele Völker und mächtige Nationen kommen, den HERRN Zebaoth in Jerusalem zu suchen und den HERRN anzuflehen.23So spricht der HERR Zebaoth: Zu jener Zeit werden zehn Männer aus allen Sprachen der Völker einen jüdischen Mann beim Zipfel seines Gewandes ergreifen und sagen: Wir wollen mit euch gehen, denn wir haben gehört, dass Gott mit euch ist.
