Los tiempos del fin

1 Y debes saber esto: que en los últimos días vendrán tiempos difíciles; 2 porque los hombres serán egoístas, amigos del dinero, arrogantes, soberbios, difamadores, desobedientes a sus padres, ingratos, irreverentes, 3 sin afecto natural, implacables, calumniadores, intemperantes, crueles, enemigos de lo bueno, 4 traidores, impetuosos, envanecidos, y amigos de los placeres más que de Dios, 5 que tendrán apariencia de piedad, pero negarán su eficacia. Apártate de ellos. 6 Porque de éstos son los que entran furtivamente en las casas y toman cautivas a mujercillas cargadas de pecados, llevadas por diversas pasiones; 7 los cuales siempre están aprendiendo, y nunca pueden llegar al conocimiento pleno de la verdad. 8 Y de la manera que Janés y Jambrés resistieron a Moisés, así también éstos resisten a la verdad; hombres de mente corrompida y réprobos en cuanto a la fe. 9 Pero no avanzarán largo trecho, porque a todos se hará evidente su insensatez, como también fue la de aquéllos.

10 Pero tú has seguido de cerca mi enseñanza, mi manera de vivir, mi propósito, mi fe, mi longanimidad, mi amor, mi paciencia, 11 mis persecuciones, mis sufrimientos, como los que me sucedieron en Antioquía, en Iconio, en Listra, como los padecimientos que sufrí, y de todos me libró el Señor. 12 Sí, todos los que quieran vivir piadosamente en Jesús el Mesías, padecerán persecución. 13 Por su parte, los hombres malos y embaucadores irán de mal en peor, engañando y siendo engañados. 14 Pero tú persiste en lo que aprendiste y fuiste persuadido, sabiendo de quiénes aprendiste, 15 ya que desde niño conoces las Sagradas Escrituras, las cuales pueden hacerte sabio en la salvación que por la fe hay en Jesús el Mesías. 16 Toda la Escritura es inspirada por Dios, y es útil para la enseñanza, para la refutación del error, para la corrección, para la instrucción en la justicia, 17 a fin de que el hombre de Dios esté completamente calificado, equipado para toda buena obra.

Godlessness in the Last Days

1 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. 2 For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. 6 For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, 7 always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. 9 But they will not get very far, for their folly will be plain to all, as was that of those two men.

All Scripture Is Breathed Out by God

10 You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, 11 my persecutions and sufferings that happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra—which persecutions I endured; yet from them all the Lord rescued me. 12 Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom* you learned it 15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God* may be complete, equipped for every good work.
