Psalm 131

New International Version

1 My heart is not proud, Lord, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. 2 But I have calmed and quietened myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content. 3 Israel, put your hope in the Lord both now and for evermore.

1 A Song of Ascents. Of David. O Lord, my heart is not lifted up; my eyes are not raised too high; I do not occupy myself with things too great and too marvelous for me. (Job 42:3; Ps 101:5; Ps 120:1; Ps 138:6; Isa 57:15; Jer 45:5; Ro 12:16) 2 But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.
