1The Lord said to Moses,2“Tell the people of Israel to bring me an offering. You must receive the offering for me from all whose hearts move them to give.3“Here are the offerings you must receive from them. “gold, silver and bronze4blue, purple and bright red yarn and fine linen goat hair5ram skins that are dyed red the hides of sea cows acacia wood6olive oil for the lights spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet‑smelling incense7onyx stones and other jewels for the linen apron and chest cloth8“Have them make a sacred tent for me. I will live among them.9Make the holy tent and everything that belongs to it. Make them exactly like the pattern I will show you.
The Ark of the Covenant
10“Have them make a chest out of acacia wood. Make it three feet nine inches long and two feet three inches wide and high.11Cover it inside and outside with pure gold. Put a strip of gold around it.12“Make four gold rings for it. Join them to its four bottom corners. Put two rings on one side and two rings on the other.13“Then make poles out of acacia wood. Cover them with gold.14Put the poles through the rings on the sides of the chest to carry it.15The poles must remain in the rings of the chest. Do not remove them.16I will give you the tablets of the covenant. When I do, put them into the chest.17“Make its cover out of pure gold. The cover is the place where sin will be paid for. Make it three feet nine inches long and two feet three inches wide.18“Make two cherubim out of hammered gold at the ends of the cover.19Put one cherub on each end of it. Make the cherubim as part of the cover itself.20The cherubim must have their wings spread up over the cover. The cherubim must face each other and look toward the cover.21“Place the cover on top of the chest. I will give you the tablets of the covenant. Put them into the chest.22“The chest is the ark where the tablets of the covenant are kept. I will meet with you above the cover between the two cherubim that are over the ark. There I will give you all of my commands for the people of Israel.
The Table for the Holy Bread
23“Make a table out of acacia wood. Make it three feet long, one foot six inches wide and two feet three inches high.24Cover it with pure gold. Put a strip of gold around it.25Also make a rim around it that is three inches wide. Put a strip of gold around the rim.26“Make four gold rings for the table. Join them to the four corners, where the four legs are.27The rings must be close to the rim. They must hold the poles that will be used to carry the table.28“Make the poles out of acacia wood. Cover them with gold. Use them to carry the table.29“Make its plates and dishes out of pure gold. Also make its pitchers and bowls out of pure gold. Use the pitchers and bowls to pour out drink offerings.30“Put the holy bread on the table. It must be near my holy throne on the ark of the covenant at all times.
The Gold Lampstand
31“Make a lampstand out of pure gold. Hammer out its base and stem. Its buds, blooms and cups must branch out from it.32“Six branches must come out from the sides of the lampstand. Make three on one side and three on the other.33On one branch make three cups that are shaped like almond flowers with buds and blooms. Then put three on the next branch. Do the same with all six branches that come out from the lampstand.34“On the lampstand there must be four cups that are shaped like almond flowers with buds and blooms.35One bud must be under the first pair of branches that come out from the lampstand. Put a second bud under the second pair. And put a third bud under the third pair. Make a total of six branches.36The buds and branches must come out from the lampstand. “The whole lampstand must be one piece that is hammered out of pure gold.37“Then make its seven lamps. Set them up on it so that they light the space in front of it.38The trays and wick cutters must be made out of pure gold.39Use 75 pounds of pure gold to make the lampstand and everything that is used with it.40“Be sure to make everything just like the pattern I showed you on the mountain.
10“They shall make an ark of acacia wood. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, a cubit and a half its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height. (Ex 37:1; De 10:3; Heb 9:4)11You shall overlay it with pure gold, inside and outside shall you overlay it, and you shall make on it a molding of gold around it. (Ex 25:24; Ex 30:3; Ex 37:2)12You shall cast four rings of gold for it and put them on its four feet, two rings on the one side of it, and two rings on the other side of it. (Ex 37:3)13You shall make poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold.14And you shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry the ark by them.15The poles shall remain in the rings of the ark; they shall not be taken from it. (1Ki 8:8)16And you shall put into the ark the testimony that I shall give you. (Ex 16:34; De 31:26; 1Ki 8:9)17“You shall make a mercy seat of pure gold. Two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth. (Ex 37:6; Heb 9:5)18And you shall make two cherubim of gold; of hammered work shall you make them, on the two ends of the mercy seat. (Ex 25:31; Ex 37:7; Ex 37:17; Ex 37:22; Nu 8:4; Nu 10:2)19Make one cherub on the one end, and one cherub on the other end. Of one piece with the mercy seat shall you make the cherubim on its two ends. (Ex 37:8)20The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be. (1Ki 8:7; 1Ch 28:18; Heb 9:5)21And you shall put the mercy seat on the top of the ark, and in the ark you shall put the testimony that I shall give you.22There I will meet with you, and from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim that are on the ark of the testimony, I will speak with you about all that I will give you in commandment for the people of Israel. The Table for Bread
23“You shall make a table of acacia wood. Two cubits shall be its length, a cubit its breadth, and a cubit and a half its height. (Ex 37:10; 1Ki 7:48; 2Ch 4:8; Heb 9:2)24You shall overlay it with pure gold and make a molding of gold around it. (Ex 25:11)25And you shall make a rim around it a handbreadth wide, and a molding of gold around the rim.26And you shall make for it four rings of gold, and fasten the rings to the four corners at its four legs.27Close to the frame the rings shall lie, as holders for the poles to carry the table. (Ex 26:29; Ex 30:4; Ex 36:34; Ex 37:14; Ex 37:27; Ex 38:5)28You shall make the poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with gold, and the table shall be carried with these.29And you shall make its plates and dishes for incense, and its flagons and bowls with which to pour drink offerings; you shall make them of pure gold. (Ex 37:16; Nu 4:7)30And you shall set the bread of the Presence on the table before me regularly. (Le 24:5)
The Golden Lampstand
31“You shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The lampstand shall be made of hammered work: its base, its stem, its cups, its calyxes, and its flowers shall be of one piece with it. (Ex 37:17; 1Ki 7:49; Zec 4:2; Heb 9:2; Re 1:12)32And there shall be six branches going out of its sides, three branches of the lampstand out of one side of it and three branches of the lampstand out of the other side of it;33three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on one branch, and three cups made like almond blossoms, each with calyx and flower, on the other branch—so for the six branches going out of the lampstand.34And on the lampstand itself there shall be four cups made like almond blossoms, with their calyxes and flowers,35and a calyx of one piece with it under each pair of the six branches going out from the lampstand.36Their calyxes and their branches shall be of one piece with it, the whole of it a single piece of hammered work of pure gold.37You shall make seven lamps for it. And the lamps shall be set up so as to give light on the space in front of it. (Le 24:2; Nu 8:2; 2Ch 13:11)38Its tongs and their trays shall be of pure gold.39It shall be made, with all these utensils, out of a talent of pure gold.40And see that you make them after the pattern for them, which is being shown you on the mountain. (Ex 25:9; Ex 26:30; Ex 27:8; Nu 8:4; 1Ch 28:11; 1Ch 28:19; Ac 7:44; Heb 8:5)
