Psalm 61

King James Version

1 To the chief Musician upon Neginah, A Psalm of David. Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. 2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. 3 For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. 4 I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah. 5 For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name. 6 Thou wilt prolong the king' life: and his years as many generations. 7 He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him. 8 So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.

Lead Me to the Rock

1 To the choirmaster: with stringed instruments. Of David. Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; (Ps 4:1; Ps 55:1) 2 from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, (Ps 18:2; Ps 77:3) 3 for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. (Ps 14:6; Pr 18:10) 4 Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! (Ps 15:1; Ps 17:8; Ps 27:4) 5 For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name. 6 Prolong the life of the king; may his years endure to all generations! (Ps 21:4; Ps 63:11) 7 May he be enthroned forever before God; appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him! (Ps 40:11) 8 So will I ever sing praises to your name, as I perform my vows day after day. (Ps 50:14)
