Psalm 120

English Standard Version

A Song of Ascents. In my distress I called to the Lord, and he answered me. (Ex 34:24; 1Ki 12:27; Isa 30:29) Deliver me, O Lord, from lying lips, from a deceitful tongue. What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue? (1Sa 3:17) A warrior’s sharp arrows, with glowing coals of the broom tree! (Ps 45:5; Ps 127:4; Ps 140:10; Pr 25:22; Jer 50:9) Woe to me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell among the tents of Kedar! (Ge 10:2; Ge 25:13; So 1:5; Isa 60:7; Jer 49:28; Eze 27:13; Eze 27:21; Eze 38:2; Eze 39:1) Too long have I had my dwelling among those who hate peace. I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war! (Ps 109:4)
