Der Weinstock und die Adler: Zedekias Treuebruch bringt Gericht über ihn

1 Und das Wort des HERRN erging an mich folgendermaßen:

2 Menschensohn, gib dem Haus Israel ein Rätsel auf und lege ihm ein Gleichnis vor,

3 und sage: So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Ein großer Adler mit großen Flügeln und langen Fittichen voll vielfarbiger Federn kam auf den Libanon und nahm den Wipfel der Zeder hinweg.

4 Und er brach den obersten ihrer Zweige ab und brachte ihn in ein Händlerland und setzte ihn in eine Stadt von Kaufleuten.

5 Er nahm auch von dem Samen des Landes und pflanzte ihn auf ein Saatfeld; er brachte ihn zu vielen Wassern und setzte ihn wie einen Weidenbaum.

6 Da wuchs er und wurde ein wuchernder Weinstock von niedrigem Wuchs; seine Ranken bogen sich zu ihm, und seine Wurzeln waren unter ihm. So wurde ein Weinstock daraus, und er trieb Äste und streckte Schosse aus.

7 Es war aber ein anderer großer Adler, der hatte große Flügel und viele Federn. Und siehe, dieser Weinstock bog seine Wurzeln von den Beeten, worin er gepflanzt war, zu ihm hin und streckte seine Ranken gegen ihn aus, damit er ihn tränke.

8 [Dabei] war er [doch] auf einem guten Boden bei vielen Wassern gepflanzt und konnte Zweige treiben und Frucht tragen und ein prächtiger Weinstock werden!

9 Sage: So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Wird er gedeihen? Wird man nicht seine Wurzeln ausreißen und seine Frucht abschneiden, damit er verdorrt? Alle seine grünen Triebe werden verdorren! Und es braucht dazu keinen großen Arm und nicht viel Volk, um ihn mit seinen Wurzeln herauszuheben.

10 Und siehe, er ist zwar gepflanzt, sollte er aber gedeihen? Wird er nicht, sobald der Ostwind ihn berührt, gänzlich verdorren? Auf den Beeten, wo er aufgewachsen ist, wird er verdorren.

11 Und das Wort des HERRN erging an mich folgendermaßen:

12 Sprich doch zu dem widerspenstigen Haus: Wisst ihr nicht, was das bedeutet? Sprich: Siehe, der König von Babel ist nach Jerusalem gekommen und hat dessen König und dessen Fürsten genommen und sie zu sich nach Babel gebracht.

13 Er nahm auch einen von dem königlichen Samen und schloss einen Bund mit ihm und ließ ihn einen Eid schwören; und er nahm die Mächtigen des Landes mit sich,

14 damit das Königtum gering bliebe und sich nicht erhebe, sondern seinen Bund hielte, sodass es Bestand habe.

15 Er aber fiel von ihm ab und sandte seine Boten nach Ägypten, damit man ihm Pferde und viel Volk zusendete. Wird er Gelingen haben? Wird der, welcher so etwas tat, davonkommen, und sollte er entkommen, da er den Bund gebrochen hat?

16 So wahr ich lebe, spricht GOTT, der Herr: An dem Ort, wo der König wohnt, der ihn zum König machte, dessen Eid er verachtet und dessen Bund er gebrochen hat, bei ihm soll er sterben, mitten in Babel!

17 Auch wird ihm der Pharao nicht mit großem Heer und zahlreichem Volk im Krieg beistehen, wenn man einen Wall aufschüttet und Belagerungstürme baut, um viele Seelen umzubringen.

18 Er hat ja den Eid verachtet und den Bund gebrochen — und siehe, er hat seine Hand darauf gegeben und doch das alles getan! —, er wird nicht entkommen.

19 Darum, so spricht GOTT, der Herr: So wahr ich lebe, ich will den bei mir geschworenen Eid, den er verachtet, und den vor mir geschlossenen Bund, den er gebrochen hat, auf seinen Kopf bringen!

20 Ich will mein Netz über ihn ausspannen, und er soll in meinem Fanggarn gefangen werden. Ich will ihn nach Babel führen; dort will ich mit ihm ins Gericht gehen wegen des Treubruchs, den er an mir begangen hat.

21 Aber alle seine Flüchtlinge in allen seinen Truppen sollen durchs Schwert fallen, und die Übriggebliebenen sollen in alle Winde zerstreut werden; so werdet ihr erkennen, dass ich, der HERR, geredet habe.

Gott verheißt eine Wiederherstellung des Königtums Davids

22 So spricht GOTT, der Herr: Ich will auch [einen Schössling] vom Wipfel des hohen Zedernbaumes nehmen und will ihn einsetzen. Von dem obersten seiner Schösslinge will ich ein zartes Reis abbrechen und will es auf einem hohen und erhabenen Berg pflanzen;

23 auf dem hohen Berg Israels* will ich es pflanzen, damit es Zweige treibe und Früchte bringe und zu einem prächtigen Zedernbaum werde, dass allerlei Vögel und allerlei Geflügel unter ihm wohnen und unter dem Schatten seiner Äste bleiben können.

24 Und alle Bäume des Feldes sollen erkennen, dass ich, der HERR, den hohen Baum erniedrigt und den niedrigen Baum erhöht habe; dass ich den grünen Baum verdorren ließ und den dürren Baum zum Grünen brachte. Ich, der HERR, habe es gesagt und werde es auch ausführen.

1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel;

3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:

4 He cropped off the top of his young twigs, and carried it into a land of traffick; he set it in a city of merchants.

5 He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed it by great waters, and set it as a willow tree.

6 And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.

7 There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and, behold, this vine did bend her roots toward him, and shot forth her branches toward him, that he might water it by the furrows of her plantation.

8 It was planted in a good soil by great waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.

9 Say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it wither? it shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by the roots thereof.

10 Yea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the furrows where it grew.

11 Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

12 Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these things mean ? tell them , Behold, the king of Babylon is come to Jerusalem, and hath taken the king thereof, and the princes thereof, and led them with him to Babylon;

13 And hath taken of the king' seed, and made a covenant with him, and hath taken an oath of him: he hath also taken the mighty of the land:

14 That the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping of his covenant it might stand.

15 But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he prosper? shall he escape that doeth such things ? or shall he break the covenant, and be delivered?

16 As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.

17 Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company make for him in the war, by casting up mounts, and building forts, to cut off many persons:

18 Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and hath done all these things , he shall not escape.

19 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely mine oath that he hath despised, and my covenant that he hath broken, even it will I recompense upon his own head.

20 And I will spread my net upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will plead with him there for his trespass that he hath trespassed against me.

21 And all his fugitives with all his bands shall fall by the sword, and they that remain shall be scattered toward all winds: and ye shall know that I the LORD have spoken it .

22 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set it ; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon an high mountain and eminent:

23 In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.

24 And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it .
