1 In seinen Tagen zog Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, herauf, und Jojakim wurde ihm drei Jahre lang untertan. Danach fiel er wieder von ihm ab. 2 Da sandte der HERR Truppen gegen ihn aus Chaldäa, aus Aram, aus Moab und von den Ammonitern; die sandte er gegen Juda, um es zugrunde zu richten, nach dem Wort des HERRN, das er durch seine Knechte, die Propheten, geredet hatte. 3 Fürwahr, nach dem Wort des HERRN kam das über Juda, damit er sie von seinem Angesicht hinwegtäte, um der Sünden Manasses willen, für all das, was er getan hatte; 4 und auch um des unschuldigen Blutes willen, das er vergossen hatte, als er Jerusalem mit unschuldigem Blut erfüllt hatte; darum wollte der HERR nicht vergeben. 5 Was aber mehr von Jojakim zu sagen ist, und alles, was er getan hat, ist das nicht geschrieben im Buch der Chronik der Könige von Juda? 6 Und Jojakim legte sich zu seinen Vätern. Und Jojachin, sein Sohn, wurde König an seiner Stelle. 7 Aber der König von Ägypten zog nicht mehr aus seinem Land; denn der König von Babel hatte alles eingenommen, was dem König von Ägypten gehörte, vom Bach Ägyptens bis an den Euphratstrom.

König Jojachin von Juda. Die Wegführung Judas nach Babylon

8 Jojachin war 18 Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte drei Monate lang in Jerusalem. Und der Name seiner Mutter war Nehusta, die Tochter Elnathans von Jerusalem. 9 Er tat aber, was böse war in den Augen des HERRN, ganz wie es sein Vater getan hatte. 10 Zu jener Zeit zogen die Knechte Nebukadnezars, des Königs von Babel, nach Jerusalem herauf, und die Stadt wurde belagert. 11 Und Nebukadnezar, der König von Babel, kam zu der Stadt, und seine Knechte belagerten sie. 12 Aber Jojachin, der König von Juda, ging zu dem König von Babel hinaus, er samt seiner Mutter, seinen Knechten, seinen Obersten und seinen Kämmerern; und der König von Babel nahm ihn gefangen im achten Jahr seiner Regierung. 13 Und er ließ von dort alle Schätze im Haus des HERRN und die Schätze im königlichen Haus wegbringen; und er ließ alle goldenen Geräte in der Tempelhalle des HERRN zerschlagen, die Salomo, der König von Israel, gemacht hatte — wie der HERR es gesagt hatte. 14 Und er führte ganz Jerusalem gefangen hinweg, nämlich alle Obersten und alle kriegstüchtigen Männer, 10 000 Gefangene, auch alle Handwerker und alle Schlosser, und ließ nichts übrig als das geringe Volk des Landes. 15 So führte er Jojachin nach Babel hinweg, auch die Mutter des Königs und die Frauen des Königs und seine Kämmerer. Dazu führte er die Mächtigen des Landes von Jerusalem gefangen nach Babel, 16 auch alle Kriegsleute, 7 000, dazu die Handwerker und die Schlosser, [im ganzen] 1 000, alles kriegstüchtige Männer; und der König von Babel brachte sie gefangen nach Babel. 17 Und der König von Babel machte Mattanja, Jojachins Onkel, zum König an seiner Stelle, und änderte seinen Namen in Zedekia.

Zedekia, der letzte König von Juda, und der Fall Jerusalems

18 Zedekia war 21 Jahre alt, als er König wurde, und er regierte 11 Jahre in Jerusalem. Und der Name seiner Mutter war Hamutal; [sie war] die Tochter Jeremias von Libna. 19 Und er tat, was böse war in den Augen des HERRN, ganz wie es Jojakim getan hatte. 20 Denn wegen des Zornes des HERRN kam es so weit mit Jerusalem und Juda, bis er sie von seinem Angesicht verwarf. Und Zedekia fiel ab von dem König von Babel.

1 In his days Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up, and Jehoiakim became his servant three years: then he turned and rebelled against him. 2 And the LORD sent against him bands of the Chaldees, and bands of the Syrians, and bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of the LORD, which he spake by his servants the prophets. 3 Surely at the commandment of the LORD came this upon Judah, to remove them out of his sight, for the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he did; 4 And also for the innocent blood that he shed: for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; which the LORD would not pardon. 5 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoiakim, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? 6 So Jehoiakim slept with his fathers: and Jehoiachin his son reigned in his stead. 7 And the king of Egypt came not again any more out of his land: for the king of Babylon had taken from the river of Egypt unto the river Euphrates all that pertained to the king of Egypt. 8 Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. And his mother' name was Nehushta, the daughter of Elnathan of Jerusalem. 9 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father had done. 10 At that time the servants of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against Jerusalem, and the city was besieged. 11 And Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came against the city, and his servants did besiege it. 12 And Jehoiachin the king of Judah went out to the king of Babylon, he, and his mother, and his servants, and his princes, and his officers: and the king of Babylon took him in the eighth year of his reign. 13 And he carried out thence all the treasures of the house of the LORD, and the treasures of the king' house, and cut in pieces all the vessels of gold which Solomon king of Israel had made in the temple of the LORD, as the LORD had said. 14 And he carried away all Jerusalem, and all the princes, and all the mighty men of valour, even ten thousand captives, and all the craftsmen and smiths: none remained, save the poorest sort of the people of the land. 15 And he carried away Jehoiachin to Babylon, and the king' mother, and the king' wives, and his officers, and the mighty of the land, those carried he into captivity from Jerusalem to Babylon. 16 And all the men of might, even seven thousand, and craftsmen and smiths a thousand, all that were strong and apt for war, even them the king of Babylon brought captive to Babylon. 17 And the king of Babylon made Mattaniah his father' brother king in his stead, and changed his name to Zedekiah. 18 Zedekiah was twenty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother' name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah. 19 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done. 20 For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
