Oração de David.

1 Presta atenção à minha oração, SENHOR; ouve-me, pois estou bem necessitado e aflito. 2 Guarda a minha alma, pois sou teu, ó Deus meu; salva-me, pois eu te sirvo e confio em ti. 3 Tem misericórdia de mim, ó Senhor, pois chamo por ti o dia inteiro. 4 Dá-me alegria, Senhor, pois estou ao teu serviço; é a ti que a minha alma se dirige. 5 Tu, Senhor, és bom e pronto a perdoar; cheio de bondade para os que apelam à tua ajuda. 6 Ouve atentamente a minha oração, SENHOR; atende a voz das minhas súplicas. 7 Chamarei por ti, quando me encontrar em angústia, porque sei que me respondes. 8 Entre os deuses não há nenhum que se assemelhe a ti, nem que faça obras como as tuas. 9 Todas as nações, que tu próprio formaste, virão e se inclinarão perante ti, Senhor; dirão coisas belas sobre a força do teu nome. 10 Porque és grande e realizas grandes maravilhas. Só tu és Deus! 11 Ensina-me, SENHOR, o teu caminho e andarei na tua verdade; que todo o meu ser saiba temer o teu nome! 12 Eu te louvarei de todo o meu coração, Senhor, meu Deus, e darei honra ao teu nome para sempre. 13 Pois tem sido grande a tua misericórdia para comigo; livraste a minha alma das profundezas do mundo dos mortos. 14 Ó Deus, gente soberba levantou-se contra mim; ajuntamentos de pessoas violentas, verdadeiros tiranos que procuram matar-me e nem sequer pensam que tu podes ver tudo. 15 Mas tu, Senhor, és um Deus cheio de compaixão e misericórdia; és meigo e bom e nunca falhas ao que prometes. 16 Olha para mim e compadece-te da minha situação; dá-me força para te servir e salva-me, pois sou filho de uma mulher que também te serviu! 17 Dá-me uma prova do teu favor, para que a vejam os que te aborrecem e sejam condenados por toda a gente, quando virem, que tu, SENHOR, me ajudas e confortas.

Great Is Your Steadfast Love

1 A Prayer of David. Incline your ear, O Lord, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. 2 Preserve my life, for I am godly; save your servant, who trusts in you—you are my God. 3 Be gracious to me, O Lord, for to you do I cry all the day. 4 Gladden the soul of your servant, for to you, O Lord, do I lift up my soul. 5 For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you. 6 Give ear, O Lord, to my prayer; listen to my plea for grace. 7 In the day of my trouble I call upon you, for you answer me. 8 There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours. 9 All the nations you have made shall come and worship before you, O Lord, and shall glorify your name. 10 For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God. 11 Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. 12 I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever. 13 For great is your steadfast love toward me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol. 14 O God, insolent men have risen up against me; a band of ruthless men seeks my life, and they do not set you before them. 15 But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. 16 Turn to me and be gracious to me; give your strength to your servant, and save the son of your maidservant. 17 Show me a sign of your favor, that those who hate me may see and be put to shame because you, Lord, have helped me and comforted me.
