As Fronteiras de Canaã

1 Disse mais o SENHOR a Moisés:

2 “Dê ordem aos israelitas e diga-lhes: Quando vocês entrarem em Canaã, a terra que será sorteada para vocês como herança terá estas fronteiras:

3 “O lado sul começará no deserto de Zim, junto à fronteira de Edom. No leste, sua fronteira sul começará na extremidade do mar Salgado*,

4 passará pelo sul da subida de Acrabim*, prosseguirá até Zim e irá para o sul de Cades-Barneia. Depois passará por Hazar-Adar e irá até Azmom,

5 onde fará uma curva e se juntará ao ribeiro do Egito, indo terminar no Mar*.

6 A fronteira ocidental de vocês será o litoral do mar Grande. Será essa a fronteira do oeste.

7 Esta será a fronteira norte: façam uma linha desde o mar Grande até o monte Hor,

8 e do monte Hor até Lebo-Hamate. O limite da fronteira será Zedade,

9 prosseguirá até Zifrom e terminará em Hazar-Enã. Será essa a fronteira norte de vocês.

10 Esta será a fronteira oriental: façam uma linha de Hazar-Enã até Sefã.

11 A fronteira descerá de Sefã até Ribla, no lado oriental de Aim, e prosseguirá ao longo das encostas a leste do mar de Quinerete*.

12 A fronteira descerá ao longo do Jordão e terminará no mar Salgado. “Será essa a terra de vocês, com as suas fronteiras de todos os lados”.

13 Moisés ordenou aos israelitas: “Distribuam a terra por sorteio como herança. O SENHOR ordenou que seja dada às nove tribos e meia,

14 porque as famílias da tribo de Rúben, da tribo de Gade e da metade da tribo de Manassés já receberam a herança delas.

15 Estas duas tribos e meia receberam sua herança no lado leste do Jordão, frente a Jericó, na direção do nascer do sol”.

16 O SENHOR disse a Moisés:

17 “Estes são os nomes dos homens que deverão distribuir a terra a vocês como herança: o sacerdote Eleazar e Josué, filho de Num.

18 Designem um líder de cada tribo para ajudar a distribuir a terra.

19 “Estes são os seus nomes: “Calebe, filho de Jefoné, da tribo de Judá;

20 Samuel, filho de Amiúde, da tribo de Simeão;

21 Elidade, filho de Quislom, da tribo de Benjamim;

22 Buqui, filho de Jogli, o líder da tribo de Dã;

23 Haniel, filho de Éfode, o líder da tribo de Manassés, filho de José;

24 Quemuel, filho de Siftã, o líder da tribo de Efraim, filho de José;

25 Elisafã, filho de Parnaque, o líder da tribo de Zebulom;

26 Paltiel, filho de Azã, o líder da tribo de Issacar;

27 Aiúde, filho de Selomi, o líder da tribo de Aser;

28 Pedael, filho de Amiúde, o líder da tribo de Naftali”.

29 Foram esses os homens a quem o SENHOR ordenou que distribuíssem a herança aos israelitas na terra de Canaã.

Boundaries of the Land

1 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

2 “Command the people of Israel, and say to them, When you enter the land of Canaan (this is the land that shall fall to you for an inheritance, the land of Canaan as defined by its borders),

3 your south side shall be from the wilderness of Zin alongside Edom, and your southern border shall run from the end of the Salt Sea on the east.

4 And your border shall turn south of the ascent of Akrabbim, and cross to Zin, and its limit shall be south of Kadesh-barnea. Then it shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass along to Azmon.

5 And the border shall turn from Azmon to the Brook of Egypt, and its limit shall be at the sea.

6 “For the western border, you shall have the Great Sea and its* coast. This shall be your western border.

7 “This shall be your northern border: from the Great Sea you shall draw a line to Mount Hor.

8 From Mount Hor you shall draw a line to Lebo-hamath, and the limit of the border shall be at Zedad.

9 Then the border shall extend to Ziphron, and its limit shall be at Hazar-enan. This shall be your northern border.

10 “You shall draw a line for your eastern border from Hazar-enan to Shepham.

11 And the border shall go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain. And the border shall go down and reach to the shoulder of the Sea of Chinnereth on the east.

12 And the border shall go down to the Jordan, and its limit shall be at the Salt Sea. This shall be your land as defined by its borders all around.”

13 Moses commanded the people of Israel, saying, “This is the land that you shall inherit by lot, which the LORD has commanded to give to the nine tribes and to the half-tribe.

14 For the tribe of the people of Reuben by fathers’ houses and the tribe of the people of Gad by their fathers’ houses have received their inheritance, and also the half-tribe of Manasseh.

15 The two tribes and the half-tribe have received their inheritance beyond the Jordan east of Jericho, toward the sunrise.”

List of Tribal Chiefs

16 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

17 “These are the names of the men who shall divide the land to you for inheritance: Eleazar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun.

18 You shall take one chief from every tribe to divide the land for inheritance.

19 These are the names of the men: Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.

20 Of the tribe of the people of Simeon, Shemuel the son of Ammihud.

21 Of the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad the son of Chislon.

22 Of the tribe of the people of Dan a chief, Bukki the son of Jogli.

23 Of the people of Joseph: of the tribe of the people of Manasseh a chief, Hanniel the son of Ephod.

24 And of the tribe of the people of Ephraim a chief, Kemuel the son of Shiphtan.

25 Of the tribe of the people of Zebulun a chief, Elizaphan the son of Parnach.

26 Of the tribe of the people of Issachar a chief, Paltiel the son of Azzan.

27 And of the tribe of the people of Asher a chief, Ahihud the son of Shelomi.

28 Of the tribe of the people of Naphtali a chief, Pedahel the son of Ammihud.”

29 These are the men whom the LORD commanded to divide the inheritance for the people of Israel in the land of Canaan.
